What Lens Should I get for the Nikon Z8
Переглядів 12611 місяців тому
With Tamron finally releasing the 35-150mm 2-2.8 for the Z-Mount got me thinking if I should purchase this lens and what lens should I pair it with. Nikon 17-28mm: This lens offers a wide-angle perspective, which is great for landscapes, architecture, and vlogging. It complements the Tamron's range by providing a wider field of view. Nikon 14-30mm, 14-24mm: These lenses are also wide-angle opti...

Which Zoom Lens Should I get for the Nikon Z6II?
God Bless🫶🏻
For those who're unsure or confused. This backpack is actually called Peak Design Everyday Backpack Zip.
Hi! How did the Neewer tripod held up against the PeakDesign tripod?
Its good there are some differences that I am going to go over in my follow up video
my right ear is really happy
thx for the video I have the 6ii but my bird photography should be better with the Z8 on my new 180-600 but as I do make a lot of video I do not want to have battery issues so maybe I should go Z9 but will first see what the 6iii will be like and compare to the z8
You killed me when you said in white lol
Buy a microphone the audio is really bad.
I have a mic, I just messed up somewhere in the process
Your audio is one of the worst I've heard in a while 😂😂😂😂, you could have just used an audio boosting software, plenty of them FREE on Windows or Android
👍
Nice review but barely audible
Thanks!
I've had my eye on the 24-120 for way too long now. Gonna be picking it up soon I just know it haha
You should!
Awesome video.I have the same stand. Is there an adapter i could buy to use this stand with the Neewer CB100 C Light
I am not sure, I will have to research that.
have the Zf trying to work on the ideal lens, great photo 👍
Thank you! I think the 40mm is a great lens for the ZF
Awesome photo! Really love how clear the rocks are while keeping that nice misty water.
Thank you!
Did you have your sound off as the second shooter?
No I recorded sound as well for the little video that I did.
Nice video. Very nice fireworks images.
Thank you very much!
Bummer on the batteries not lasting, you may need to get a couple of those SmallRig batteries with the USB C ports and their latest V-mount battery with dual USB C PD ports so you could have the drained units charging while you work. Or, you may have to put that battery on your waist and run a USB C cable to keep it powered via the external battery. This sort of thing reminds me when I used to used an external battery pack in my waist to power my flash for events. The next option is to look into a Z9 a refurbished or used version could come in close to the Z8 price, they pop up from time to time. The Z9 would give you the integrated portrait grip and that massive battery that you can shoot all day. My D300 with the grip was my workhorse camera back in the day and I used the EN-EL4 battery inside the grip, it last way longer than the standard battery. When you think about he cost of those extra batteries to keep you going, the Z9 starts to make a lot of sense for professional work.
Thank you very much for the comment. I will have to look into the SmallRig battery. The Z9 take even though it is a great take. The Z9 is not for me it is just to big for my needs. Even though it does solve the battery life issue.
you can power the Z8 with a battery bank USB power delivery
Very true, now i have mull carrying another device but more than likely I will.
Love the fireworks
Thank you very much!
I enjoyed this video. I hope you can find more work.
So do I! I know just have to put myself out there and go get it!

The black and white photos were nice, I have been down to DC a few times and it's a great place to get some photography in, so many different and interesting things to photograph.
I need to start photographing more in DC
I just added a Nikon Z6Ii to my collection of Pentax, Panasonic,Olympus and Fujifilm cameras, I like to use different cameras and use some for travel events, every day use, shooting with a tripod and so on,I like the retro design of the Fujifilm XT3 and XT5 and I wanted to add the Nikon ZF to my collection, I got an email from the dealer that I preordered the camera from and they said that they will not have enough units to meet the demand for the camera, I ran into the same problem with the Pentax k3 monochrome version. So B&H photo had a sale on the Nikon Z6II, it was 300 dollars off, came with a 128 GB SD card and a nice camera bag, because I use the B&H Payboo card I save the tax, about an extra 140 dollars. I ordered the Viltrox 28mm f1.8 lens with the body, I don't shoot video so the screen on the Z6Ii works better for use on a tripod with the use of an l-bracket. The larger body and grip makes it easier to use bigger glass and it has a port for a wired remote the Zf does not.
I have mulled about getting the Nikon ZF by selling/trading my Nikon Z6II. I am just sure yet if I am going to do that.
Good video, as a Nikon shooter, I appreciate you giving the Z8 and Z6II some love. I’m one who is transitioning to mirrorless, so what are your thoughts of the Z6II overall, or more so as a video camera?
I am actually going to make a video about it!
You know, you don’t really need the intro. Intros are a thing of the past. LOL. Your videos are good when you just get straight in into the video. 85mm 1.2 , love that focal length.
Amaran makes very good lights, they are very pricy, but well worth it. good video.
I use a mixture of amaran and aputure lights. Of course the aputure brand is more expensive but I find the amaran very cost effective.
I love smallrig cages, they give you the option to mount a lot of accessories to your camera. Prograde cards are the best, that is the only storage that I use on my cameras. good video , thanks for making the video.
For some reason I have only bought my cages from SmallRig. I cannot remember which UA-camr I was watching that recommended the Prograde so far it is excellent.
😥😥😥😥😥😥😥
nikon sent me the z8 to try out and ive been loving it! Keep creating, DMV stand up!
Thank you! Will do!
I've been a most hobby photographer for years, but recently I've been getting a huge increase in video gigs and am wondering what sort of gear investments I should be making. I bought a $100 LED light (one of the ones that look like a smart phone) which was a lifesaver for a night shoot I had recently, but then I used it the next day in the daytime and was really wishing I had more power. I might have to add these lights to the long list of gear I want but can't afford quite yet!
Without knowing some information it is really hard to suggest what I think you might need. You can look at the offerings from Godox, SmallRig, and Amaran
Good video LA bless up
Thank you!
Hi. What color is this? Ash or midnight? And the Peak Design site says there's no tablet sleeve in this bag. Is it true?
The color I have is midnight. Mine does have a tablet sleeve
@@lavisualizations6582 thank you! I have almost decided to get this backpack for EDC and also for photography and vlogging. The other backpack I considered is the PhotoCross 13. Do you recommend this backpack now? Or do you have any other recommendations? I'm looking for a compact backpack with a 13" laptop and 11" tablet storage and side access.
@@dhilsiva I don't have any other recommendation at the moment. The backpack I have fits my Surface Pro 7 , and my 13 inch MacBook Pro.
@@lavisualizations6582 thank you! I'll go ahead with the purchase.

amazing ! ciao~))
Thank you
I also love that Tamron 35-150 and it’s little brother, the 17-35 on F mount. I also use both on D750. I did recently purchase a Z5 with the 24-120 F4 S lens, and I’ll admit, I haven’t picked up the 750 with the 35-150 in a while, but emotional attachment, I can’t see myself selling them yet. The new 24-120 is so good tho.
I just recently sold my Tamron 35-150, and my original Z6 along with the FTZ adapter to help bring down the cost of the Nikon Z8. I do wish that I could have use the Tamron on the D750 (when I used own one). So far I am loving the 24-120 F4. I really did not think I would like it all that much but I am pleasantly suprised!
@LA Visualizations Thanks for posting this video. I just bought a P60c and playing around with it a bit. It seems a bit harsh, even with the softbox. Do you find the same? Wasn’t sure if any other type of diffusion would help out here? Thoughts? Mitch
It no where near as soft as the 120D with the Light Dome...I do think that if I diffused it differently it would be softer however it is 60watts so there is that.
You can rent lenses, then send them back. That way you get to compare lenses.
I do rent from borrowlenses
Awesome rig! How is the video stabilisation? Do you have any footage?
I will post some footage soon
love hearing another photographer's thoughts on their photos and about their process, thank you for sharing! I look forward to the next video
I need to do that a lot more. Thank you
Nice video. I have the S Line 24-70 f4 and have thought about selling it and getting the 24-120 f4. I hear nothing but great news about it. The images you shot were very nice; even in the rain.
I am very much enjoying this lens!
This is the sexiest rig I've ever seen for a Nikon Z camera. Bravo to you, bro. I will be copying.
I am going to be doing a new one for the Nikon Z8!
@@lavisualizations6582 can't wait.
you should get the peak design everyday backpack v2 30L , I have the same thing in this video in black and the v2 30 L in black. You will like the 30L everyday backpack v2. I have a review coming soon on the 30L v2 everyday backpack. I also got the 10L sling from peak design, I just did a review on that. the 10 L sling is awsome, you can carry a camera body with a lens and two additional lenses.. Good video, my straps don't stay on as well, you can lose them.
Thanks for the feedback!
I would recommend the Tameron knock-off 28-75mm F2.8 as the best value for money.
I went with the Nikon 24-120 F4. The reason why I did not go with the Tamron ahem the Nikon (LOL) was that 28 was just not wide enough for me when I do landscape, the other reason was that the price was just similar between them. That is why I went with the 24-120.
In my experience, the Nikon z6ii is a superb video camera. I can see you use manual focus, but also, the autofocus on this camera is so consistent and reliable. I was recently shooting dynamic, wide angle video at a dance studio. Manual focus wasn't practical but the camera did an amazing job focusing. Skin tones and subtle shading and colours look superb.
what lens is that u r using?
It depends on what project I am working on.
thanks for the review dustin from stranger things!
Check out some third party lenses.Tamron,Sigma and Laowa lenses.
I am trying to avoid using the FTZ adapter. The reason being if I am doing video and I do not want to hear the motor.
Second rig - just what I need - thank you for making the video.
