    I really appreciate the hump-strap technique. I want to try that technique, once I acquire a strap.

    Do they have anything that's similar to a car jack? Like a machine you can put under a heavy piece of furniture, that lifts it automatically or by cranking it like a car jack?

    hi can you plaza tel me where to get the elastic band thank you

  • @jonathanwilliams225
    @jonathanwilliams225 3 роки тому

    When he was wrapping the end table he went around two legs with one band. This is risky as it applies constant pressure on the hardware holding the legs in place, and if put in a cold area, the bands contracting from the temperature exacerbate the risk. Worse if it’s an antique or particle wood piece

      @Bob Dylan if you drape the blanket over a chair diagonally (diamond shape with back of chair in front of you) you can cover each leg evenly with a blanket. I use a small roll of plastic to fasten the blanket to each leg.

    Don't EVER put furniture on a Dolly/Cart with out padding it first and stop tipping the dresser on those little legs. You're lucky they legs on the dresser didn't snap off.

    everything should be padded before moving it to avoid damage to the furniture or appliances. you should never go up a ram with a piece of furniture on the dolly in front of you you always go up backwards.

    good luck carrying this dish barrel into the house if you can't dolly it. To many plates in the bottom should only do 4-8 around the edges otherwise its like ~100lbs+

    • @henryhawkins1194
      @henryhawkins1194 4 роки тому

      What are you talking about? Dishpacks are supposed to be heavy. That's why they are double corrugated cartons.

    • @iTzDeadInside
      @iTzDeadInside 4 роки тому

      @@henryhawkins1194 we dont make ours heavy. putting them over 100lbs is just stupidity. you fill from all cupboards not from one till its empty.

    • @henryhawkins1194
      @henryhawkins1194 4 роки тому

      @@iTzDeadInside, if you put dishes only on the bottom and work your way up to the top with lighter items they won't be a 100 lbs anyway. You're talking to a Professional Mover/Packer/ Driver with over 20 years in the industry. What do you put in them? Lampshades? Lol

  • @FAB0516

    I would not fill book cartons with paper as these are usually heavy and used as base (bottom load) and tend to crush with other book cartons on top. Fill them up to the brim with books.

    What about moving appliances

    • @muun7487
      @muun7487 6 років тому

      You typically want to go from the side when moving appliances. Its at it's less width and theres not plug's or vents that'd get in the way or damaged.put a piece of cardboard or like this guy was doing a moving blanket. Its best to have 2 people doing this one to push one to receive on the hand truck. If you're going off a curb go front first not backwards the edge of the appliance can hit the top of the curb and fall off. Hope this answers the question

  • @falconmoving9565
    @falconmoving9565 7 років тому

    Wonderful! I used to do the method where I'd use the blankets straight instead of diagonally. This seems a lot more beneficial.
