Halmat, thank you for your question. You can place leaves on the A4 paper but calibrating plate is needed as well. Calibrating plate helps your smartphone to understand what task it has to do and what is the scale for measurement. All you need - to print the calibrating plate in 100% scale on any printer. If you have all 8 markers visible then you'll get proper accuracy when uploading the photo to Petiole Pro. Hi Nikhil, please, get our free calibrating plate, print it out using any printer (100% scale please) and make a photo of your gladiolus leaf next to the calibrating plate. Choose contrast background for better accuracy. The main requirement is to place the leaf on the calibrating pad and make a photo of the leaf on the calibrating pad.
