I think spin. Very hard to defend
It’s crazy I have to explain this. Your not putting topsin your basically doing less backspin and more sidespin. The reason why the balls pops up is because of the angle of the receivers racket. Their racket is angled up so the ball goes up. The real decider here is about where the ball goes. A topspin serve would literally go flying off the table. It literally landed on the table slowly

@@gajananborse5551 Try to focus on your goals for the game, not only on points and your situation, when your opponent is a very offensive player, concentrate on your serve, receive and push, try to keep it low and short to make it hard for your opponent

Tacky medium density rubber plus lots of back spin practice is the key. I am very average but can do it in my garage as well. It'll take a while to find the best spot for first bounce to get over the net. The rest is natural.
