Hi, We are Sri Lankans and are interested in investing in the Malaysian property. We visit Malaysia once in every 2 months. We have company registered in KL. 60% owned by a Malaysian. Some are planing to buy one or 2 apartments as investments. Me and my husband were in Malaysia last week and we checked on few places that we felt would be potentially good investments. Again with the comparison between Malaysia & Singapore. What is this sick obsession people have over comparing between us 2? I don't hear people comparing Vietnam or China, Indonesia vs Australia, China vs Taiwan, USA vs Mexico, Chile vs Peru, etc. Not nearly as much as Singapore vs Malaysia at least. It's like everytime we talk about the Malaysian economy, Singapore must be mentioned. I am so sick of it. I don't hear people talk about Singapore when it comes to the Thai or Indonesian economy. Why must Singapore always be included in a Malaysian economy video. No disrespect to Singapore, u guys did a great job. But don't act like what Malaysia achieved is not impressive. A lot of work has been done, to achieve this level of development in a matter of less than 7 decades is already amazing. No need for comparisons

Every country got its pro and cons. I am Malaysian born Chinese. Many people like to work in Singapore because of its strong currency . Just like it used to be many Indonesian workers coming in to Malaysia just to earn a living.

Calculation for Singapore is not accurate ah.... First of all the CPF contribution including your Employer contribution, will be $1,380 in your Ordinary Account. Your monthly $1670 for HDB should take away the CPF contribution in Ordinary Account ($1380) because CPF can use to pay for housing, so that means we pay $290 per month for housing in cash. Also, don't forget that you already got a pool of CPF before buying the flat which you can pay in lump sum before taking the loan so the loan probably is much lower than $1670, which means it is very likely that you don't pay any cash for your housing, just deduct from your CPF and might even have left over. For Economy rice, the price also not right lah, you are quoting a very high price which normally people won't come up to. The usual price I pay for economy rice is $4. My food for a month cost maybe about $500, including starbucks. Also, people who earn $6000 will not buy a car in the first place. I am the person you talk about, salary is about $76K annually. My flat already fully paid by CPF. I don't have car because like I said $6000 salary cannot buy car. My meals, $500 per month, bills whatnot about $200. overall, $6k is very comfortable living here.

The people suggesting the land bridge are absolutely clueless about shipping and the maritime industry - in what way will a shipping company benefit by off loading containers at one port and then loading up again onto another ship at the other port? It's a logistical, legal, costly nightmare!! In addition, the fact is the Singapore port is a transshipment and maritime service/repair, logistical and supply hub serving the region as well as a key oil refining centre ... ships coming through the Malacca Straits and Singapore are not mainly for China/Japan/Korea/US.

We love the idea , as a canal , benefits all in the south . Th politic must be stable otherwise no country dare to invest , I think US and China really interested to handle the project , check with Northrop they know best .

it not free, Thailand will probably charge high tolls for China ships to use, probably Singapore will start buying shares or owning ships around the world and probably by pass the canal altogether, the loser will be Thailand and China

You do not need to drive car in Singapore for transportation is very convenient and cheap, even if you take grab or taxi everyday also much cheaper than driving, for breakfast cost around $5+ with drink, lunch and dinner you no need to eat fish everyday the most expensive for a veggie rice is fish, for 1 meat 2 vegs cost only $3.80 and drink $1.50+-, 2 meat and 1 veggie $4.50, if 1 fish 2 vegs cost $5+, I think your information are not correct.

Thailand and its Thai people should be very concerned if the Kra Canal is completed.

Let us put it in simpler terms- for 100x average pay in MY you will get a condo in KL but in SG 100x your average pay will only get you an old 3 rm HDB flat(unless u r lucky enough to get a new hdb)
