a deep experimental piece on my buchla modular. i used many classic buchla techniques in this recording, such as voltage controlled waveshaping and wavefolding with the 261e, arbitrary CV addressing of tone rows with the 266 and 248 marf, musically unpredictable pitch information from the 266 fluctuating random source, dynamic filtering of flat noise with the 292 lopass gate and 291 filter, vol...

buchla 292C & 292M a short improvisation on my sequences from 'the rain feels different to everyone' i noticed there are few videos featuring this quintessential buchla module, the lopass gate or LPG anyhow, i recently got a mems 292 and made this recording featuring the mems replica of the module from the 70's alongside the original clone

I liked the sound of my Dukoff mouthpieces when I used them, but I have since switched to Berg Larsen stainless steel to get away from Dukoff's soft metal, and I get better high altissimo.

Hi does anyone know about Transition dukoff soprano with non stamp Miami but still made in Kendle usa also box has stamp silverite so does this going to sound and play like vintage with stamp ? Does anyone know? Thanks !!

@@Poom290827 shortly, your mouthpiece will be similar in design to the one featured in the video, which was a non-miami stamp d10. In my experience of owning several dukoffs and testing dozens more, i have found no difference in the design or general response of the Miami vs non-Miami silverite models. All the silverite mouthpieces in the same series are the same mould and design. So a silverite miami D7 is the same exact design and should have generally similar sound and characteristics to a silverite non-miami d7

I have both myself, a later TM and an earlier STM. Would agree with most of this video; neither are really brighter or darker surprisingly, TM has more fuzziness, STM more edge. TM I use mostly since I like the core sound of it and it matches my Ben Webster-esque sound concept. STM on the other hand is definitely more flexible and dynamic of a mouthpiece. TM when pushed maybe projects more spreadlike, whereas the STM when pushed projects straight away.

I don't understand how anyone can mention great saxophonists like Coleman Hawkins, Hank Mobley, Lester Young, Ben Webster and then utter the name of John Coltrane. Compare the tone of the former and then listen to the squawks and screeches of Coltrane. Yes, he had great technique, but he sounded horrible! His playing sounds to me like an exercise, or a stunt. It is not satisfying. It is an ugly sound. Why are so many saxophonists reluctant to say the emperor has no clothes?

I had a Miami Dukoff 9 back in the early 80's. The sound was like a bullet coming out the bell. It takes some getting used to but was great on funk and rock gigs. Ya know, in a parallel universe when there used to be horns. As far as kenny g, I think his Dukoff helps him to play with bad intonation, but that is just my opinion. Nothing against kenny g

i shot some of the video while i was in mexico city! many of the parts that remind of paik nam june is a live recording of a fantastically gifted visual artist who was producing live visuals on the night of the recording in response to the music being played, named Justin (pea.cok on instagram). when working on my own footage for this video, i took inspiration from the recording of his visual performance, as well as paik nam june indeed :)
