radio sound quality is so bad. its dangerous i cant tell if they are telling me im about to be overtaken or what. i wish they had better sound quality so im not afraid for my life while driving around the track.
Nice people. Great cars. Good experience but the marketing is a little fishy. They tell you the speed is up to you -not true. The limiters are there to control you. Mine stopped at 123-125 or so. Makes sense. Expensive cars and newbie drivers but just don't tell people there's no limit. I paid $600-$700 for 16 minutes. It was fun but probably won't do it again.
I did 180 ~ 185 in their Indy car trainer, down the front straight of California Speedway in Fontana, California. The Mario Andretti Driving Experience stressed vehemently in class that we aren't supposed to touch the release ring on the steering wheel at any time, or certain death would ensue! So, I'm all belted in, and the chief mechanic puts my steering wheel on. But I notice the ring hasn't settled into it's locked position. Balls not in the detent groove. I point it out to the chief mechanic, (who isn't even looking at it, just waiting for the push-start ATV), and only after I bring it to his attention, he just pulls it back, pushes the wheel on, and releases the ring, no apology or even the smallest acknowledgement of HIS stupidity. Oh, SUUUURE, I'm not spposed to touch the ring at any time, but the CHIEF MECHANIC can put the wheel on WRONG, getting ready to send me out on track and thereby risk MY LIFE at 185 mph. If it weren't for me noticing it, I could have lost the wheel and hit the wall. Totally unprofessional guy, but had a big ego and bristly demeanor. And the engine blew, at about 165 mph. The chief mechanic got all mad at me, as if that was my fault somehow. There were no mirrors, so I couldn't tell if it was the gearbox or engine. My job was to go as fast as possible, but imo their cars aren't maintained for students who can put any stress on the car.. These one-gear Indy car trainers were limited to 185 mph, so the engine should have been able to take it at the limit for a session, at least. The oil might have run dry under high Gs, idk. Good thing the crank didn't jam up on a thrown rod, or the rears could have locked up, and I could have hit the wall. Another time, the left rear blew in a l/h turn! Anyway, I'd steer clear of the Mario Andretti Driving Experience, because imo they are dancing with the death(s) of their students. I'm lucky to be alive. Note, when I went, they had no radios. You just followed the line of the instructor in front of you, about 10 car lengths back.

I was just about to sign up to drive in Las Vegas but after seeing this I think I'm going to pass. I have gone faster than this in my street car many times lol
@@kevinschmidt9482 Actually, I went just after posting this in Charlotte NC. My experience was great and they basically let you go as fast as they feel comfortable with your driving skill. I hit 156 mph with an 8 minute run. I’d go again in a heartbeat!
@@kevinschmidt9482 The camera doesn’t give you a good sense of speed. I can tell because he hit the rev limiter at least twice. BUT, he missed the target dots that you’re supposed to split a bunch of times coming out of turn 4 and he definitely was backing off the throttle in the turns.
@@jaywhite1850 good info! I might give it a try. I can hit just under 150 on the straight at my local track. I just want to experience the banked corners!
@@jaywhite1850 I did the nascar ride at Charlotte. We defiantly went faster than this. I guess its up to how comfortable they feel with your ability to follow instructions and put the car where they tell you to put it. I only got up to 140 but it was the most fun I have ever had with a steering wheel in my hand. I want to do it again. If I do I think I'll stick with nascar, it just seems like its a more fun time than the indy cars.
Been looking at several of these videos...I don't know if I want to pay so much to drive with a pit lane speed limiter on.

Awesome.
What fun
I probably would have had a Kimi Raikkonen moment.... "SHUT UP! I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING!"
I was thinking the same thing😂😂😂
Nothing against you, but that looked really boring. You should try rusty Wallace racing...they don't try to control you the way you drive.
These are open wheels not a full body car ,less room for error

Dude, I would have been pissed. They didn’t seem to let you drive fast at all. What was your top speed?
