Nice! What car settings do you use? Do you play with an original dreamcast controller??

@@BakkerSamuel Car settings is at the end of the video. I use real unmodified Sega Dreamcast and Interact Concept 4 Racing wheel as it says in the description.

@@BakkerSamuel It really just depends on the type of steering wheel that you get. In regards of Sega Dreamcast peripherals, Most but not all don't have all the face buttons of the standard controller. However I do know there is a Ferrari steering wheel for Sega Dreamcast that also includes not only the face buttons but a joystick. So even if I wanted to use the wings on my current steering wheel by switching button configurations I wouldn't be able to use Yaw axis since the steering wheel only goes right and left. Also initially I was only doing ghost runs in which the wings are disabled anyways. I personally decided against getting the Ferrari one because it uses a rubber band for steering resistance. The one I have has a spring so it's fluent upon turning the wheel. I personally believe it's up to preference whether steering wheel or controller is better. Personally I am absolutely terrible with a controller. I tend to tap the joystick when I turn which is not ideal. The more you Screech your tires in San Francisco Rush the slower you go. A steering wheel can help alleviate that by making sure you don't turn the wheel too hard. However if you're proficient at using a joystick with a methodical sensitivity. You should be all right. You could also decide buying a WingmanSD which is a device that plugs into your controller port and allows you to hook up USB controllers to it. Which means you could also hook up a more modern USB steering wheel. But I haven't got around to deciding which one to buy. Best regards and hope this helps.

@@EccoCastTV Thanks for the extensive reply! Very helpful indeed! At the moment someone offers me a Madcatz MC2 racing wheel. Do you know if its any good, especially for using it for Rush2049 on the Dreamcast? I have only played the game with a controller, but I do have a hard time keeping the car straight especially when you have to take a jump/ramp in a certain angle. The car often starts spinning after the jump when its in the air. Or the car just turns way too far, even when I try to turn just slightly. These things happen when I use the Extreme handling. With ''Advanced'' handling I have more control, but its slower and I want to use Extreme ofcourse! :) Do you have any more advice on this? So I thought perhaps I have more control when playing with a wheel..? As you said the tapping on the controller is not ideal... I am figuring out which wheel might be the best for me. Does the wheel you're using have any pedals?? By the way, what is your opinion on Rush2049 on the Dreamcast? Yea, almost got post 2.27

Sometimes I get some microstutter during gameplay as you can see in the video. I never had it fully freeze before. There was a few times where I ran out of RAM/memory well trying to play on larger levels which resulted in a crash.

I should add that you should never put your console to sleep while the game is running. That itself resulted bad behavior for me. I don't remember if I had to close the game or quitting the in-game menu first. But make sure it's one of the other before turning off the console.

@@EccoCastTV weird. for me it would randomly freeze and the last millisecond of audio would constantly repeat. i couldn't even open rosalina menu on new 3ds btw

@@cardboredsbox2868 and one of the replies I made on here immediate link to a script about how to install the game. However it is quite out of date so I'm not sure if it will work for you. But in the script is a bunch of information of everything you need to do and what websites to go to for help

I'm sorry, I am uncertain. But my guess would be that some file is not loading properly.

I do remember that I did get slight graphical improvement when I use ZTM's Flexible HUD mod. Loaded it using a server on my PC and using the download feature in game when joining said server.

Just to be sure. You are using IOQuake3? I remember making the mistake of just using the steam version.

It does run but not with good frame rate. You would also be a little bit limited to the face buttons to look around. On a new 3DS you have the C stick

Given the top screen is a 15:9 (5:3) autostereoscopic liquid-crystal display (LCD) with a resolution of 800×240 pixels i don't think so. I wouldn't go messing around with the resolution too much unless you like breaking stuff like I do. However I did get slight graphical improvement when I use ZTM's Flexible HUD mod.

First thing I should ask you is do you have a hacked Nintendo 3DS?

@@EccoCastTV Yes, I got Halo revamped working, ctrquake working (but not quake live) quake 2 working, Quake 3 shows the bottom screen, and the top screen loads the id logo, then it goes black and it freezes the whole console and I have to hard reset. open arena, there is no id logo, bottom screen is shown, it freezes. One thing to note, my 3ds was hacked several years ago so it may not be the most update hack. Its so utterly confusing that I didn't want to even attempt to update whatever hack I used a few years ago (dont remember) to the most current one. The main thing I want to do is play vs bots, unfortunately that seems to be the one thing I cant get working, either with quake live for 3ds or quake 3. Anyhow, if you make a tutorial showing exactly where to place what folders where (there are other guides for how to hack your 3ds already), the whole thing from start to finish that would be really helpful. One confusing thing I noticed is, the author says to 'place quake3_data' in the root folder of your sd card. Well, I dont think that is correct, I think you actually place the folder 'ioq3' in the root of your sd card. I tried it both ways though, neither worked. Maybe when I put the folder 'quake3_data' in the sd card root and tried to run it the first time, it wrote something in some database entry somewhere that causes it to forever have the wrong path? I uninstalled the cia file using FBI and deleted 'quake 3_data' and placed 'ioq3' folder in the root then reinstalled the cia file, still doesnt work.

@@100toeface yes it seems the issues you are having is that your 3DS is not updated. You're going to need the latest luma3ds. I will definitely be back on tutorial after Christmas. And yes it would be correct in thinking that these ioq3 folder need to go in the root of your SD card.

@@stefanolassandro886 in order to get the full game you actually need to own a copy of the game Quake 3 Arena. Along with its CD key if you want to play multiplayer. With quake you need to copy the folder on the CD called baseq3 and replace it with the one on your SD card.

@@EccoCastTV Oh I see! Thank you so much for the info man! :) Also, I did a little research on the Internet and looks like there's kind of a 'universal' CD key: the code box filled with "2". I tried it and it works, unbelievable xD
