Приєднався 9 січ 2021
Women in ministry, Salvation Army officers, sisters in Christ, I'm Ray and this is a channel where I will share some of my greatest life lessons with you. Tips and tricks on self-care, scheduling, and leadership. Also finding a ministry, wife, and parenting rhythm. I am not perfect in this but I have a lot of great women of influence surrounding me that I'd love to share with you. Don't panic, life would be so boring if it wasn't crazy, so let's do this cRAYzy calling together!
Youth work on the go!
This video has tips from our experience teaching when you have to take your classroom with you. It has ideas that will be helpful for youth ministry in your corps or outside of it, and it has a focus on special needs.
Angel Tree with Me playlist and Bible conference playlist are at the end of video. The Bible Conference playlist has teacher's videos that I used as a resource for preparation.

Volunteer management during Angel Tree Warehouse
Переглядів 46Рік тому
Volunteers are the best thing going for our warehouses, it’s also sometimes very stressful. “What if I don’t have anything for them to do?” Or “what if I give an assignment and they don’t get it” or “what if there’s too many and I can’t manage them all.” This is just a short video of what I do to prepare to maximize the use of my volunteer groups.

Tips and tricks for an enjoyable season
Wow! This is so great! What fantastic organization tips as well as teaching tips. Best of all, my teacher of special needs heart is so full. Thank you for intentionally making sure all of our friends can fully participate and have space to not participate if they need it.
This was amazing! Your planning and follow through is incredible. The time and commitment you put into these kids is truly encouraging. I love your ministry and I love your heart!
What a good word, Rachel. I love plants too and consider how no one likes to be repotted. Getting pulled up, manipulated and cut are hard. But a new pot, fresh soil and the sun & water nourish well. Praying for everyone who received orders too. 😊
Father God bless every step that Sarah takes !!! Amen
We got the wheels off amazing, but for the bigger trees we got the better wheels. We also get tree bags and we put them away standing up. When they come down we take the bag off, do minor fluffing, fix the topper, and they’re ready to go. It’s been a dream. We’ve done it for 3 years and every year my drivers tell me thank you, they love the wheels. 🤣 so worth the investment. I think for the big trees the wheels were around 70 bucks.
Trees on wheels?? Tell me more!! Do they put them up on wheels at the beginning of the season or do you keep them in storage on wheels? & what kind of wheels?
❤❤❤❤❤❤ You guys need to take this production on the road. Bravo 👏🏾
Love you, friend.
Abs thank you for your encouragement!
I love all of your ideas! Please send me the notes/poems that you did. I want to try the travelling elf and gnome. Love you sister!!!!!
For sure. Let me know where to send it.
So great to see you again! I am right there with you!! Hang in there!!
Yes! I’m here with you! I’m actually in the office alone at night in the peace and quiet to catch up!!! -Lea ❤
Girl, we are gonna do it!

Thanks so much for your encouragement. We will be seeing you soon.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences. Yes, God is always in control I have proven this over the years.
You are so creative :) Blessings.
You gorgeous woman, you! Love this! Thanks for putting uplifting, positive content in our Salvation Army World!
Oh my, this is so hard. Thank you for these advice.
We are not moving!
Great! So true!
Watched this with the kids in the car on the way to school…thanks for your ministry to us all.
God is good. Your kids are warriors and there’s no doubt in my mind God is using them right where you are daily! Love you, friend.
“I don’t even know if she lives with me anymore…” love it!
Don’t worry, I found her. 🤣
So love your video and I am so thankful for you and your wisdom! However, I don’t seem to be getting notified when you post. Not sure why?
Hey Shelley, thank you so much for watching and for your encouraging words. There is a little bell that shows up beside the subscribe and I think under all the videos. If you click on that bell it will notify you when I post. Blessings!
Omg. I am crying with laughter right now.
Well done! Thank you for sharing this! Joining you in prayer for the dear people Who’ll be served these days all over the nation and perhaps the world! Amen! In Jesus’ Name!
Thank you for that!! So needed to hear it today! May God continue to richly bless you!
Absolutely beautiful. Please remind me to watch this every year 💕
Rachel!! Thank you so much for sharing that amazing raw and vulnerable prayer. It touched my heart in a beautiful way and my stress melted away. Thank you Holy Spirit that you guided Rachel to share this prayer; you deserve all honor and Glory. God you aligned this video, this prayer with the gentle whispers you are trying to get me to understand. This filled me with JOY!
#ThisIsEverything 😭😭😭😭😭😭 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I love the use of boxes, Us haven’t done it yet. I think this video has made me rethink the decision. As far as bikes, I started using a separate room for bikes in this appointment. I have volunteers assigned to bring bikes up when their family is called. This has given me more space in the “warehouse” so I don’t have to consolidate before distribution day. I just assign and tag bikes In that room and write it on warehouse/family labels.
Hey girl. I’m loving the boxes this year and so are our folks that volunteered with us before. I did put bikes in different rooms last year by color and then they could pull out a room when it’s done, but we just renovated the rooms to turn them into little living rooms for small group worship and I’m on my third year. We are hoping to have the small groups going strong by next Christmas and we don’t want to have to use them because we don’t want to close down the worship. So, of course, I treat the third year like the last year and try to make it where the next officer wouldn’t have to make any changes on her first year if she didn’t want too. We will see how it goes this year. I love hearing from you! Merry. Christmas.
Oh mannnn putting the flap up at the back to make a little wall? LOVE IT!! Then using binder clips to attach info? SO GOOD! :-D
With the exception of when I was a Christmas cadet, I've only ever done a drive-through Angel Tree pickup and THIS was SUPER helpful - I especially liked how you and your staff role-played it out so my visual-learning brain could see it in action. Thank you for being specific about printing all the types of tags - right down to what options to select at the print screen. So good. It's my first year using TSAMM for Angel Tree and I am glad I could learn from your experience rather than trying to figure it out on my own. :-)
Rachel, Thank you for making this videos. They are helpful. Questio, what size of bags are best to put the toys?
Hey Jessica, I’m so glad they’re helpful… for the giant family bags I use 45 gallon. For the individual kids I use 33 gallon recycling bags that are clear. Some kids items will fit into a 16 gallon bag so I get both. I hope this helps. Merry Christmas!
Thank you for this! It is so sweet and funny. Love hearing from people who "get it"
Thank you Kendra! I hope you’re have a wonderful season.
Thank you for this beautiful video!!!
Loving your wall paper!
Great System! I figured out how to mail merge my angel tag info with our angel tags that I just print on card stock. I wonder if you could do the same if you pre-generate the invitation codes? Don’t beat yourself up too much for being behind. You’ve got this!
Yes!! One of my ladies came in the office and mentioned printing them on little labels. We are actually going to do that. Great idea. Also, helps from making those little copy mistakes. Thanks for watching.
Is great but our corps don't give out boxes of food. We give them a gift card according to the size of the family and works out pretty good. We don't have the hassle of filling food boxes they could buy whatever they want for their Christmas meal. Due to the different group race of people.
So this is our first year using TSAMM We do a huge Adopt A Family program and there is nothing in TSAMM for that program. My staff isn’t sure how to do it. Does anyone have any advice for them?
@@sminks72 I love the idea of this program. There is a donor spot that you can assign certain angels to a donor. Would that help? The hotline is so helpful to me so maybe give them a call. I hope it works out for you.
Peter is very good at getting back to you on a timely manner and explains for you
Oh My Goodness gurl! Thank you for keeping it real and not editing out content! Blessings.
Yes!!! If it's too "normal" the people that really know me would know it's not real. LOL Thanks for watching and subscribing. I'm glad to have you.
Some other things I always have are stickers, dice, bandanas, aprons to protect your uniform, and decks of cards. Recipes for things like edible play dough, shivery fake snow, cookies, etc. I also keep a small first aide kit, personal hygiene items like small deodorants, feminine hygiene items, socks, and encouraging notes, magnets, book marks, etc.as well as thinks I can use for object lessons like super cape, hard hat, life savers, bandaids…
These are great! and stickers should have definitely been on mine. I totally forgot about it. I think I'm gonna add some of yours. Thanks for the ideas.
Great ideas...just a couple I would add for younger children. Don't pack their favourite blankets or favourite toy/sutffed animal. Take it with you in the car - so it's the last thing out of the old house, and the first thing in the new house. Also, for those who have elderly parents (mine are now 83 and we've lived overseas for 7 years), give them a tour of your home by video. Help them to see where you are - it's important. When we lived in London, it was the first time in my whole officer career my dad didn't hang my pictures (31 years he hung all my photos in every quarters), so I made a point to walk him around the house in London and now in Costa Rica, to show him all the pictures.
What great ideas Dawn. Thanks for sharing them.
Great stuff guys!! Enjoyed hearing that laughter again and seeing Josh be himself. Keep up with the great content.
I miss laughing together! One day in the near future, hopefully. Thanks for subscribing.
Y’all are a hot mess and I am HERE FOR IT!
Ha ha!!! Somebody has to be... thanks for watching!
Love this! We have to take care of each other for sure!
Yes! Thanks Carey!
You two are so cute.
Girl... you should see the bloopers on this one. 🤪
I get up in the morning before everyone else so I can soak up the quiet. It has been life giving. I feed the dogs, drink my coffee, and read the Bible plan. I am looking for some other ways to help battle some stressful situations lately, and hope that eases soon. Thanks for taking the time to share!
So proud of my sister in Christ! Thank you so much for the insight! God bless you and my best to the family.
Thanks brother for all your support and encouragement!
. Oh my goodness, my cleaning buddy! I miss you so muchright now. Thank you for doings this! I'm so proud cuz I knowhowscary this can be and how much work it is. I'm also super thankful!
Thanks Rebekah! Wouldn’t it be great if we still had each other to clean all the time? 😀 thanks for supporting and watching friend. I appreciate you.
LOL! Yes!
Hey! Thanks for that! I would have a tip for your video ( no offence ) - try to not record a video having a window in the background, the light is not doing good to the color of the video. Blessings!
Hey Valerie. No offense taken, you are definitely right! I have no pictures hung on my house so the first recording I did use looked so cold. 🤣 it’s great advice. Thanks for watching and for the feedback.
