Do you have Undertale? Because if you do, you should download Clover's Speedrun Practice mod. It has a weapons practice where you can get better at using the Empty Gun, and other Multi-Receptacle weapons. It's more effective to start with simple flat practices like setting a goal for a specific amount of crits. When I started out practicing, I personally did 100 Quad-Crits, but as I got better I moved to just doing 500 FIGHTs. The thing that's great about practicing in Undertale, is that the judgements for FIGHTing is more strict, meaning that while it will be harder, you'll improve much faster than if you practiced in PSS. Moving from PSS to Undertale, I was able to go from hitting 20% Quad-Crits in Undertale to 45-50% when I was warmed up, and when that's combined with the lenient Judgements in PSS, you'll hit Quad-Crits practically every time, making you a fearsome adversary.

Good job using Ranged, but you mustn't waste it's potential. Ranged weapons have very powerful FIGHTs, now you aren't at the point where you can take advantage of these powerful FIGHTs yet, the 3 FIGHTs you did use, were subpar, but that's what practice is for, continue using the gun, hit double-crits, then triple-crits. hit triple-crits and then quad-crits. Continue improving until anyone who challenges you faces ensured destruction. Quad-Crits are your friend. I feel obligated to suggest, should you continue using Ranged, a more aggressive playstyle would be better suited. Make me proud.
