Recycling 80yr old timber and old railway dog spikes to make a coat rack!
Переглядів 105Рік тому
Rustic coat rack was needed for a shack so I made one out of some timber from the original shack build in the 50's. Recycling some old Railway dog spikes and an old Australian gumtree branch we make a custom coat rack that is not only practical but reminds us of older times. Hope you enjoy these videos and would love it if you can find the time to subscribe to our little channel. Cheers

Have your kids ever caught a Tommy Ruff off from a jetty or beach when holidaying during the summer? and then wanted to keep it to eat? and you had no idea what to do with it? Hopefully this video will give you a couple of tips on how to scale, gut, clean, fillet and then cook these tasty little fish that are common in South Austr...

King George Whiting, how to scale and clean the fish to cooking it to a golden-brown crispy skin! Yum! Whiting are a common catch in the lower southeast of South Australia so I thought I would go through the process of cleaning it, from scaling, gutting, fileting and then how to cook it with a very tasty crispy skin. Silage grab restoration to a Stick grab, before, after and tested!
Переглядів 276Рік тому
Restoring an abused Silage grab and getting it operational again. We have a lot of old trees that are over 100 years old and are starting to fall down and die, I'm planting new wood lots and shade trees to replace them but there's a lot of work cleaning up the old ones so I thought I would purchase a Silage grab to use to pick up all the small limbs and sticks for the bon fire pile.
Surgery to fishing line! Will it catch fish??

Warning Graphic Content! Removing some surgery sutures and making them into a fishing rig to catch fish. Will the fish see it? Will it attract a Great White shark? Spoiler alert it caught a bag limit of King George Whiting! This is not a serious video so any Karens out there can just take a breath! Thanks for watching!
Fishing tips Whiting & Garfish on light tackle!

Fishing tips on how I catch my King George Whiting and Garfish in the Limestone coast of South Australia. Using inexpensive light tackle I head out onto the water, with the project boat complete, a Seacraft Navigator 400 tinny and a Parsun outboard with a Yamaha sticker on it to make it go faster, I head out to my favorite fishing spots to see what's around. Toolbox Repair Renovation

Toolbox restoration, repairing an old Contractor One toolbox that I picked up for beer money! With a bit of a tidy up I plan on using this for all my farm fencing gear, that way I can lift it onto the Ute with the tractor or Kanga loader and have all my gear in the one spot. The box weighs 130kg just on its own so when its full of tools there's no way I'm able to lift it without mechanical help...

Nice work. Definitley took some ideas from that for mine.
Wish these were available in Canada at a slightly cheaper price to compete with Minn Kotas...especially since this is a 65lbs, not a 45, 50 or 55lbs !
Hi can you put geospot on a Watersnake Fierce Bow Mount Electric Motor 54lb 48in
Not a bad idea with the bait tray
Spot lock seems to be a game changer for fishing from smaller boats. I’m going to have to write to Santa 😂
I’m glad I’m not the only person out there that has stuff to move every time I need something..! Great result. I’ve sanded regiments stairs in my home, finished them with a satin water based product called ‘Intergrain’. Expensive, happy with the finish. I have a stack of old red gum posts I’ve been hoarding, chopping then down for firewood would be a shame, I wonder if I could turn the lengths into some useable furniture?
Sounds good, old redgum is getting harder to find now, furniture would be the best result, like you said its a shame to burn it. Although after storing it for 20+ years and chewing up shed space I've threatened to burn it many times. Lol🤣
I love this way of making the cordial. Can it be stored unopened on the shelf?
Its a great method! I have stored it on the shelf (cool and dark) without issue but you may find if it gets warm it will try and ferment!
@@coasttocountryaustralia Ah ok - thankyou. That's great to know - I'm guessing it won't sit there for long anyway being so yummy. ☺ How long have you stored if for? Would I need to do anything 'fancy' to seal the lids, if I'm recycling a Passata bottle or similar?
Wird dein Spannungsregler auch heiß
Not yet, the metal heatsink seems to work ok. Cheers
Also er macht deine 14,5 Volt ich überlege ob ich in mit Wasser kühle oder mit Luft
I am having trouble with my Yammie. It also is putting out 15 volts. 15 volts is really bad news for a regulator - no regulator should go above 14.4 for a small outboard battery or you cook the battery. I don't know what Yamaha are doing, the rest of the engine is great.
What engine do you have? I just bought the kit for my CV30. The dealer gave me one like the one shown in this video, despite the engine having a dedicated socket on the panel.
That one was a parsun, Chinese version of a yamaha.
Thats a great idea
Mate you are a beauty . Thank you for making this video you have done me a service ,I just bought on ❤
Glad I could help
What gauge or mm wire do you use. My battery is at front of boat will need about 3m of wire. Will i need to use a thicker gauge?
Its only a charge circuit so I used 2.0mm double insulated wire, my battery is up the front too. Theres a whole series of videos on my channel wiring my boat. Cheers
Hay mate. Is this the 60inch one? And if it is do you think it would suit a 4.4 runabout?
You would have to measure the bow height to the waterline to see what shaft length you need, all boats are different. Cheers
Great little demo of installation. Much appreciated.
Wait so after you do this, you can hook the motor straight to a battery to charge it?
Yes mate, I used it to charge a car battery when travelling to fishing spots, that I then used to run my electric motor. Cheers
Nice one. Thank you. From South Africa.

nice video ..and I like your cleaning table
fantastic build mate 👍
Do you have the link to where you bought the rectifier? Part number?
This is the one I bought, just search ebay and find one that fits your engine. Cheers RECTIFIER REGULATOR FIT FOR YAMAHA 15 / 20 HP 6AH-81960-00-00 SL
@@coasttocountryaustralia Thank you! I googled it and the price in Norway (where I currently live) is astronomical. Around 1500 NOK (roughly 210 AUD) and they've put in region barriers so it is impossible to order from amazon / ebay :(. But I'll keep looking.
Hi mate hows the trolling motor going any issues with it?
All good so far. Cheers
That's a pearler!
This can be used to feed a bilge pump?
No, its to charge a battery which you can then run a bilge pump off.
Great information, thanks for sharing! I just want to run a 12v light so others can see me at night. Do you think I need a battery, or could I just wire the light direct to the regulator with a switch so I can turn it off during the day?
If it was me I would run a small battery, even if its a small motorbike battery, then if your pulling a higher current from something it won't damage the regulator. Cheers
@coasttocountryaustralia thanks mate, great advice. My only issue with the battery is that it will have to be removed and stored when I invert the dingy onto the sailboat deck. Bit of a pain. I will check the amperage when I get a regulator and see if it's capable of running the light. Thanks again 👍 we also have a channel over at @sailingwishfulthinking if you are interested. Cheers
well good mate
Now that you have had this for a while how do you find it? Do you find the anchor lock keeps you in place with a bit of a breeze?
Still works well, strong breeze and current holds great, it doesn't like swirling currents and winds that try and spin the boat, happy so far.
@@coasttocountryaustralia Sounds like its quite good, I think my fishing is similar to yours. Mostly whiting fishing hopping sand holes, some squid and gar fishing so a motor like this might be suitable
Nice one Mark 😊
good job
I didn't know that you are allowed to use chicken frames or any other part of a chicken or red meat like beef kangaroo to use as bait whilst fishing or are you allowed
Have you trimmed the shaft shorter, and if so was it complicated?
Not yet it was still under warranty
Great video thanks. Just a quick question on the jog function. Does it move 1m per button push? (left/right- forward backwards) So if you push the forward button 3 times it will move forward 3m and then stay in anchor mode? As well as clicking the right button 3 times it will move right 3m?
Certainly does, when in anchor mode, sometimes I put in 5m to the right, 3m ahead, sit back and wait for it to put me on the right position, the jog function on the remote only works with the extra gps puck unfortunately. But its well worth it I reckon. Cheers
Fantastic thanks . Just ordered my Watersnake with the Nav sensor puck @@coasttocountryaustralia
I see they say it keeps the stern of the boat more "stable" ? Have you found that ?
@@robprideaux3279 rarely wraps the cord around, but it really windy, big tides it has spun the cord around itself but somehow it untangled itself. Most of the time it sits very stable, So far so good, time will tell I guess.
This is good to know. Thanks for taking the time to respond @@coasttocountryaustralia
PS, I must remember to use the pippy on the shoulder TRICK.😅🤣
I find them everywhere! Lol
Good fish and good to eat you were saying that you use the wht, frames for snapper bait ?? and your burley anything special in your mix ?? Cheers Chris
Hi, I use the gardie frames, heads for snapper bait, berley is just either chook pellets with tuna oil, sometimes some fine bran, there not real fussy usually.
Again nice work mate , ps could you send a few of those oversize GAR up here to Moreton Bay, would be great, 😀 just explain to me how those whiting know that Pippies taste that good . well done good video. Cheers Chris
NICE work my friend , love the video . Cheers Chris
cheers for video picking up my kayak soon and this info will be very helpful
That's good, hopefully it all goes together well for you.
I just bought the Nextgen mk10v2- but no official assembly instructions really suck- the boys at kayak Wetherill Park- will be hearing about it. I can't understand why they did not invest in a short video and not rely on others to post their personal experiences in assembling the kayak.
Hi mate, thinking of buying one myself, how long did it take to install the motor? Cheers
Depends on your boat set-up, theres videos on my chanel doing it. Cheers
That has to be the fastest advancement for any employee, she went from Lacky to Supervisor to Boss all in about 3 seconds congratulations....
What is you biggest whiting you have ever caught
Hi, 64cm doubtful I'll ever fluke one of them again though, it took half a pilchard while fishing for snapper.
@@coasttocountryaustraliaI bagged out with my dad on 50cm+ whitings best was 63.5.
Thanks for the video, also.
I just bought one today, fiddled with the rudder a bit, it is a different style to yours, it does not retract into the top of the yak groove, it on ly folds straight up, I dont like that, all else is good.
awesome vid, helped me alot, cheers
The head unit plastic mount and the transducer bracket come with the sounder, the aluminium frame the sounder is mounted on I made, theres a whole series on that boat from start to finish. Cheers
Hey mate mint setup going on here where did you get that sounder mount ?😊
Hey mate i have the same motor, what i find annoying sometimes is the cord gets all twisted around the shaft. Have u had this happen? If so, any solution?
Hi, I put the extra gps puck on the back of the boat and it hasn't twisted since. Cheers
Hi mate how's it going any issues yet?
All good so far its still working fine. Cheers
thanks @@coasttocountryaustralia
Quite sure SS fasteners will cause corosion in Ally boats

Thanks for the info@@coasttocountryaustralia
also a little tip for those who are learning its very easy when learning to mess up the second fillet so simply take the head and collar off before filleting it, makes the fish lay flat when you do the second side. Easy to do when you gut the fish too, intead of cutting the gills out you can just pull the head down until the backbone snaps then the guts come out with the head, once you have the hang of things its not needed but when learning its a handy thing to do (can do this with all fish too, except maybe Garfish
