I began to work with some rescue groups to pull dogs that were in dire situations in shelters, and I began to rehab them. The process worked out very well for the dogs and those receiving them. I know about the breeds and how they typically act but I begin to learn about thier personality then I know what situation the dog will thrive in. When the dog is in the perfect spot, the humans win every time.
I work to get them into a working situation but sometimes the dogs personallity does not fit this so I keep this in mind when looking for the perfect spot for the dogs. My goal is to get the dog into thier permanant home as soon as possible and not keep 100 dogs. I rehab as many dogs as I can feed and house. Sometimes I just will rehome dogs or find the right dog for someone. I will give support for the life of the dog once it is in its new home. For me it is all about the dog. Conrad has come a very long way! Conrad use to try to be a lap dog but he is way too large. So Conrad has learned how to act and what his purpose is in life.

Brad is learning and is very good here with the dogs. Brad came in with the label "Dog Aggressive" but he has not been this here.

Gampik is healing well and he is getting his confidence back. Gampik wants to be the alpha dog but he can't here.

Uh, you gonna do somethin' about that leg or you just let him limp around like that...
Coda has been to vet to get scans and opinion on what to do going forward. Leg is actually better now and I have to see how this goes. He was on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory. There is nothing else besides removing the leg. Coda wont do well in recovery in his personality. Coda will get checked out and more scans soon as it changes.

Quick question? Why are so many lgds surrendered? I have a year old great Pyrenees/Anatolian shepherd mix and it's been really hard to keep control of her. I didn't believe everyone who warned me that she needed a job, but I adore her. Can a lgd ever really be happy indoors?
