Laurie Desaurmeaux. A great drywaller in the Ottawa area. He made a great video in the 80s and has redone it more recently. He explains why his mud don't slip off his hawk... it's the little shake you give the hawk which settles the mud in place, first thing after putting mud onto your hawk. 👍

Just in the process of prepping the hallway for reskim. As I'm tryin to do as much as poss in prep and I quite enjoy it but I can't plaster for the life of me my question is can the mesh be stuck to the wall with pva as part of my prep and then pva again prior to the skim? 40 is still young you will feel it from 45 on but you will really feel it after 55 and IMO if you aren’t out by 60 you’ll be a cripple. Everyone’s different but my hands hurt now probably atheritis and I have basal thumb joint issue and it’s painful, my lower back kills after work and I get cramps in my lower back that I never got as a younger man. Plus my feet hurt after a days work can barely walk after getting up off the sofa. Post another vid in 20 years let’s see how your doing. My only tip washing out mixing buckets and water buckets put them on your hop up less bending the better.

When you cut the head off the dragon it grows another one and so the battle is never won and we have be ready with sword in hand at all times. That's just life it's a bitter sweet experience all the way through. A smooth sea never made a strong, skilled sailor. As men we shouldn't search for an easy life we should pursue a meaningful life and to create a meaningful life involves taking on responsibility for others and navigating difficult situations and coming out the other side stronger and more capable. When we do this we put ourselves in a better position to be of service and of value for others. But even the strongest of men will fall down and get knocked off course no matter how much we work on ourselves life can throw us curve balls and in this video I give a few tips that have helped me to move through hard times. What platforms/ ladders did you use to plaster the ceiling and landing walls?

I'm paying 400 a month to check a trade I'm not Guaranteed the jobs I'm quoting for it goes out to 3 different business to quote for and I cannot cancel as some how I'm stuck in a 12month contract they do no check to see if you are a qualified professional as long as you can show you have been doing it for 3 months before you open a account with them and you must have public liability insurance i started my business 3 months ago had piston go through the block on my van so I'm stuck with a hire van that cost me 480 a week so I'm going down hill if I don't have a website up and Google advertising I'd not make any money at all 90% of the jobs iv been out to are shit easy things but no one won't to pat tax and almost everyone trying to pay cash what is no good for a ltd business that has over head's to pay I pay vat and am vat registered I'm must be missing something here

My builders gone shi1t, hardly any leads these days, and alot of them miles out of my working area, used to get loads of invites, none now. What's going on?

Mybuilder needs shutting down its an actual scam im a landscaper and i have a pretty successfull buisness at this point but when i started jobs were dificult to find and mybuilder was my only option and it burned literally all of my money lets say for example i express intrest in 10 jobs and the shortlist fee for each of these jobs is 5-10 quid (often alot more) I might only get one or two of those jobs. Lets say a £50 hedge trimming job and a £80 pointing job thats £130 ive made that day Minus all the fucking shortlist fees for the jobs i didnt even get Im left with around £30-£50 for a days work its absolute robbery. I would say the best way ti grow ur buisness is use stuff like facebook and also use ur family and friends they can reccomend you. And as long as u do a great job they will have u back and also reccomend you. 90% of my jobs i get are word of mouth refferals

Bless you gentlemen, I had a ruff day today plastering. Done a float and set. Wall wasn’t completely flat. I was gutted as I put my heart and soul into it. But had to remind my self I’m still developing as a plasterer. And we all make mistakes. Never give up i will see you on the other side. 🙏🏾❤️

Update: Hi guys it's now been almost 5 years since the remap and I've still got the van and still on the same clutch, gearbox and cambelt with no issues. Mileage is now around 184k and she keeps going. Best thing I ever did was get it remapped ! Worth mentioning that this van has a rev limiter on it and when i had her mapped I was asked if i wanted to remove it and i said no leave it on. No doubt that this has helped protect the engine and clutch Happy motoring guys 👍

I had a brand new 2006 Vivaro. Remapped it, after that It had new exhaust manifold, turbo, 2x gearbox, clutch. Yes it drive great though.

I know this is an oldish video but I think it answered a problem I have with very rough "Artex" pillars in the kitchen. Three sides , roughly 60omm wide each and floor to ceiling. The average depth of the pattern in the Artex is 3 mm to 4 mm. One or two 5mm lumps but I can pinch those off. Yes, I know it's probably got asbestos but I've got all the PPE required. The finish is painted with several layers of gloss paint. Bonding sounds ideal for the filling coat but do I need SBR before I put on the finish coats ? Subscribed today , thanks.
