Now Arriving - Sacramento International Airport
Have you ever wanted to get to the Sacramento International Airport (SMF) without a car? In this video I will explain how to get to/from the airport from each terminal. There are many other journeys that can be made without a car in the Sacramento region to be featured on Now Arriving in the future.

BART?
No, SacRT light rail in Sacramento.
@@thetrolleywire Thanks
The gold line should be running in my atea soon.
Goodness, I wish we had something like that everywhere…we could so quit cars….
Try talking to your local city council about that. building light rail is hard because of the cost but advocating for safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists is doable and affordable
Although it is hard to get funding now, there is quite a big push around Sacramento for safer streets. By incentivizing transit, like light rail, and showing that the community wants, it is more likely to be considered for funding.
Ive ridden the Gold line once. When I lived in Sacramento. Nice.
Today at CRC I managed to see a inbound 1 car CAF couple to a out of service one on the watt / i80 platform (~8am today) before departing in normal service as a 2 car, but i didnt get a video in time. You might be able to stumble upon couplings at the other terminus stations and get good footage for the future but I don't think they happen regularly. I also have a video of a San Joaquin's using the south sac subdivision at medowview if you want to use it as footage you can have it
I'll have to try and get out more for a higher variety of footage. Hopefully I can get to one of the blue line terminuses at some point because I haven't seen anything unique at Sacramento Valley Station or Iron Point recently. What time does the San Joaquins normally come through again? Isn't it pretty late in the night?
@@thetrolleywire So the one I caught departed the siding by medowview at 8:22am though it was held for a long BNSF consist, there is 2 trains daily, a 6:26 AM departure at sac valley, and a 11:35 PM arrival at sac valley. I do not know if they normally use the south sac subdivision or that was just a test (though i saw passengers inside so i think it was revenue service)
点字ブロックが設置されているのは優れていますが、問題点があります。 このスタイルでは視覚障害者は列車と接触する危険性があります。 日本の鉄道の駅では、点字ブロックはプラットフォームの先端よりも内側に設置されています。
This could be possible if we can actually present a measure that only gives sacrt money and doesnt fund a stupid highway at the same time :(
Yea, hopefully the city or state can get something together soon because SacRT really needs it.
city aint going to do anything anytime soon since they have their own debt to solve (defunding police because crime isnt an issue in sac /s)
Unfortunately it does seem like it will be a while. Hopefully they can work something out soon.
That be in 30 years for airport literail
It would come faster if we had money dedicated to SacRT.
Oh you caught another one that has glitched stop announcements, i managed to get a U2A like that
That’s so cool!
Love this!
thanks for the video :)
Sadly with SacRT underfunded all the time this will never happen, regarding your older video about rail to the airport, the CEO said he will just partner with amtrak to add a bus connection to finish the route
While it is unfortunately true that SacRT doesn't get enough funding, these are just ideas I have come up with incase funding does come available. Also, I recently met with some service planners at SacRT and they said the connecting bus from the Natomas Altamont Commuter Express station was in the plans, but that train would only run every hour at best, so not very good.
I do like your ideas, my comment did not mean to take that away at all. Also a train every hour combined with 142 and yolobus is decent service. However trains are better but funding is sadly never going to happen in the near future so this is our future. Keep making these videos!
Thanks, hopefully we get some improvement soon. I'll try to keep making videos as much as possible!
😊
Yes, we need that!
So why is the thumbnail a photo of the Denver RTD N line commuter train?
It was actually an A line train to Denver Airport and it was the best photo I could find that I took of an electric rail line that went to an airport.
@@thetrolleywire This can’t be, unless they were on the wrong platform. At Denver Union Station, the A line strictly uses track 1. What we’re looking at is a train on track 2, which plays host to the N line.
I’m not sure what was going on that day but I rode in that unit from union station to the airport. Also you can see track 1 in the photo.
👍🏻
Omg love this!!
