Pet Sitting in the Shetland Islands
Переглядів 143Місяць тому
Meet the adorable furry gang from the Shetland Islands. We found ourselves falling in love on this house sit, with this adorable family and with this stunning part of the world, that is the Shetland Islands. We were welcomed into the family from day one and we can't thank Karen and Paul enough for giving us this opportunity. Everyday was so much fun, from the moment Charles would meow and scrat...
First Class Emirates A380
Переглядів 2,8 тис.6 місяців тому
We flew First Class onboard Emirates Airbus A380 from Sydney to Christchurch using 64,500 Qantas Frequent flyer points $186.60 AUD each. Everything was sensational except the flight only being 3 hours. Having a shower in the sky (which was high on Drew's bucket list) albeit 5 minutes is a cool thing to tick off. We also started the morning with access to the Qantas International First Lounge Sy...
The Galapagos Islands in 60 seconds
Переглядів 4299 місяців тому
Charles Darwin knew almost intuitively that there was something special about the Galapagos Islands. “The natural history of this archipelago is very remarkable: it seems to be a little world within itself.” We visited the 3 main islands, Santa Cruz, Isabella and San Cristobal. From the wildlife, to the people and the serene landscape we most definitely agree!
Antarctica in 3 minutes

Antarctica has been on the top of our bucket list for a very long time and so we were stoked to finally get the opportunity to set foot on our final continent. We went in November of 2023, on board the Ocean Endeavour with Intrepid. It was at the beginning of the season, and it was snowy, misty, and unbelievably white and pristine! Antarctica is the most remote and unforgiving place you will ev...
Brazil in 60 seconds

We struggled in the heat for over 3 weeks in Brazil but kept busy at Iguazu Falls, sleeping in the Amazon Rainforest, caught a ferry down the Amazon River and finished in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
Peru in 60 seconds

We spent 4 weeks exploring Peru and had a blast... Imagine trying to condense that into 60 seconds! Started our trip in Lima, before heading to the desert oasis of Huacachina. We then headed to Cusco to visit the most anticipated Machu Picchu where we completed Circuits 2&4. It was amazing to see this wonder and learn all about its mysterious history. We hiked to Rainbow Mountain located over 5...

*Would you dare sleep in a glass pod hanging off a side of a cliff?* Spending the night in Peru's Skylodge Adventure Suites has been on our bucket list for a long time. It's unique and the first hanging lodge in the world!!! To get to Skylodge, you can either climb via ferrata or hike up 400m. We climbed via ferrata, which was an incredibly amazing experience. Getting to your bed has never been...

He really made our Christmas and New Year an extra special and memorable one! We love you Tiberius and we know you will fall in love with him too after watchi...

Earlier in the year we had plans to stay in a unique accommodation in Finland. After some Googling we found just the place. I mean what is cooler than staying in a winter wonderland surrounded by snow and hopefully catching the northern lights?!? Ever since we booked it, we've been so excited! When we got off the bus we actually arrived at the wrong place (there are 2 locations for this resort,...

Back in October 2022 we spent 2 weeks in Norway visiting Oslo and Tromso before road tripping to the very scenic Lofoten Islands. We saw mountains, fjords, and so many stunning landscapes along the way, but there is so much more to see and do so if you've ever thought about going to Norway, what are you waiting for???
Faroe Islands in 60 seconds

Ask people if they know where the Faroe Islands are. Safe to say most people won't know. The Faroe Islands is made up of 18 rugged and rocky islands and is located between Iceland and Denmark, and is part of the kingdom of Denmark. We spent a week in this hidden wonder of the world and saw some of the most beautiful unspoiled landscapes we've ever seen. Steep cliffs, rocky coastlines, and small...

Welcome to our 2 minute special on Iceland. Visiting Iceland has always been at the top of our bucket list so we are so grateful we got to finally make that dream a reality. Iceland is such a beautiful country (we drove around it almost twice) and photos do not do it justice. If you haven't been you should definitely go! So many memories were made on this 3 week trip (September 2022) that also ...

This is our 2nd international house sit, this time in Ireland! Bowie - who is a Lurcher & Whippet mix is the smartest dog we have ever met. It really is mate!
You do realise the packs and PJs are yours to keep? Please tell me you kept yours lol. I know people who have closets full of them as they love them so much haha. Glad you had a fantastic experience. Happy New year to you both.
Happy New Year to you !! Yes we realise and now have multiples too lol.
Love this
Thanks guys!!
Ok, soooooo did you feel the wind at all? Did it move your pod?? And daaaammnnn what if you're afraid of heights???
You could feel the wind against the pod but it didn't move as much you would think. They're built pretty solidly considering they're only attached by steel cables. If you're afraid of heights you can hike up... but you will still need to climb to and from the dining pod to eat so there is that. I don't think we're afraid of heights, but there were definitely some sections that made your stomach drop and your legs feel a bit like jelly. BUT it's so worth it!
Still don’t think I could do the climb
Oh I'm sure you could! I didn't think I could either but I managed lol
Wow what an amazing experience.
The best!
Hi Guys, Lovely video. We know a fair bit about the Newfoundland. Having been born and raised here in Newfoundland gives us a "leg-up" I guess. They are a splendid breed and are responsible for the existence of several other very popular breeds. Including, The Labrador Retriever most famously. However, you both are far off in how to pronounce the name, not only of the breed, but of the place they come from. It's not uttered Newfunlund, or New-Found-Lund. Rather, said correctly, the words for the place and the dog will thyme with "understand". As in, Newf-In_ Land.
Hi, thanks for correcting us. We actually visited Newfoundland last year and struggled to pronounce it then too. They are an awesome breed!
@@binnaanddrew Hey Guys, Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my somewhat (in hind-sight), rudely presented, comments. I apologize if I made you uncomfortable. I didn't mean to be cross with you. As it turns out, you probably had more than one person when you visited here offer coaching on the pronunciation. Thank you. For us, it's funny. Such a small thing but yet, such an important element when it comes to the name of the place. It's difficult to explain unless you understand our long (many times sad), history. Our daughter spent six months in Australia back in 2005 or there about. She had always had a dream to go to Vet. School there but, could never make that work sadly. To most Canadians, I think, Australia is as close to Canada as it comes in our sensibilities and way of life. I have a brother who lived in New Zealand for a year as well and during that time also dropped in on your homeland more than once. We'd love to experience your country some time. I'm so glad to hear you actually visited Newfoundland. It's a different place for sure. We're a bit off the beaten track as you certainly know. If you ever find yourselves nearby and at a loose end, we'd love to host you. Just message me here if necessary. I often cruise UA-cam looking for videos about Newfoundland Dogs. We are enamored with the breed and, with me in particular, I try to find clues to how they came to be here. The breed was existent on the island in 1497 when Europeans first landed. An appealing mystery to be certain. In 1,000AD, Vikings preceded the first Europeans when they "pitched" on the Northern most tip of the island and tried to settle. That didn't work-out so well and the visitors left. Some researchers think it was them who brought the "start" of the breed at that time but, there's debate. Other theories talk about Saint Brenden, the Irish traveler who, by legend, washed-up here even earlier as being responsible. Wish I could know. Many Kind Regards and safe travels.
Ally: Why have Binna and Drew got a dog now? 😆🥰
Binna: I wish!
Q.... favourite place so far?
These Nordic countries are all up there, but we can't go past Iceland.
How cool.... love love this. Listen, these accommodations are getting better and better... like 5 stars 🌟 which one did you like best, the glass igloo or the log cabin
We have to say the glass igloo as it is more unusual !
Alistair particularly enjoyed Drew bumping his head on the doorway 😆 and then rolling around in the snow 🥶
We're happy he found Drew entertaining.
