80m Mag Loop (MRA-QRP 20W + Goozeezoo coaxial's) Capacitor from MRA20 (Part 3)
This is a test in the 30m band (with 10W) between the Mag Loop and my Heaxbeam Modified (with 30m dipole).
It is not a "scientific" test but only to see if Mag Loop can be a good option to work in hotel, camping or other similar portable operations. Enjoy! CT1EYQ

This video is a test of a way to use both coaxial cables together (MRA 20W Goozeezoo commercial antennas) to better work the 80m (and 40m) bands. I use only the bigger cable to work from 40m up to 17m and the small cable to work from 15m to 10m. For this "big" loop I've also made a little coupling loop 1/5 of the big one. (This 1/5 diameter is the usual coupling for Mag Loops) Later I will make...

My house is small and I need an antenna that could make all bands, from 80m to 6m. So, I've made this adaptation to my Hexbeam and it's working in all bands (CW) only with IC7300 internal tuner. Nice contacts in Europe and over the Atlantic, in 40m. RBN signals in Europe and US. Incorrect comparison, as for reception the antenna sizes and height above the ground are different. The vertical receives all sorts of etheric garbage, and the MAGNETIC LOOP is selective and filters out the signal. It is better to receive a weaker but cleaner signal than a little louder but with a lot of interference. Try to think about what you are comparing..

@@johnmarron1944 it's a simple dipole, for 30m, with coils to be able to do also 60m but, no reflector element. Same for the 40m / 80m. Only simple dipole It works fine, for me. 🙂🙂 Best 73 CT1EYQ

I have considered doing the same to try and get 80m on my Alexloop. I will probably have to design it as a double loop. VK6MB

Sure it does but doesn't allow me dayly QSO with friends. Specially, in winter nights 40m, 60m and 80m are the ones I use 😂 And... We have to consider that ~ 2X10m dipole must be a bit better than a dummy load... If you have enough space (I hope you have) don't waste your time with those short versions. Best 73 CT1EYQ
I didn't understand why this magnetic loop antenna doesn't have tge driven loop (inner loop)
Not all Mag Loops use the same drive method. Please check, as example: nmwilliam.tripod.com/mla.html In that case, the drive is inside the box.

Agreed, it's a great radio... somehow in trades, I ended up with two, and prefer to use the G90 over my 7300.
Olá João, por acaso ando de olho no x6100. Sei que tem tido algumas actualizações. Como se comporta o software, algumas falhas ou tudo ok? Eu uso maioritariamente SSB, como é o rádio em RX / TX ?

Hello Gordon, in some videos I have the description but, even from "seeing" it's easy to realise the dimensions. Loops are not pickier with sizes. Enjoy your testing my friend! Best 73
