Hey! I'm Tonya, founder of PNW HOMEBODY DESIGN. Also known as PNW HOMEBODY™. I created my brand to inspire others to create beautiful spaces throughout their home using the power of diy and furniture flipping techniques.
I hope to inspire you through my work, whether you're here for a little diy therapy or to learn a new skill or furniture flipping technique. You'll find that with most of my pieces I try to find the natural beauty by stripping and sanding any old varnish or stain first to see what lies beneath. Some, inevitably will get a beautiful paint wash or full painted furniture makeover. I'm in love with all things neutral, subdued and muted tones.
I'm a certified Interior Designer through New York Institute of Art + Design so you'll also see interior design topics, tips, and tricks as well. I'll bring you along for any house flips or new build projects my husband and I try to tackle in the future. We draft and design everything we build from scratch.

    I really like the piece and you do good work. However, as soon as a piece is distressed, it becomes old and worn again, IMO.

    • @pnwhomebody
      @pnwhomebody 5 місяців тому

      Thanks for your feedback! I think distressing a piece is simply a look that some like and some don’t. I tend to lean more toward rustic/distressed vs a factory looking finish on most of my work. 🤍

    A trick I learned recently. Spray windex on the crevices before you start caulking. It helps the caulk go on smother and wiping off the excess is a lot easier. You did a great job. It looks amazing!!!

    All Great projects but as a furniture fliper/restorer myself iam stumped as in why don't you have a robust dust collector?😮 That ryobi bag is horrible you are breathing in all that old top coat and wood dust yes even being outside in the open! It's not worth your lungs. Also as ur style is obviously sanding back to raw invest in a robust sander I recommend Festool system and bosch I have both it will change your life. Don't forget to invest in mesh screen sandpaper it's way cost effective and can be washed and re- used! We have one pair of lungs! No spares 😢Even with all that I also wear a respirator masks with filters, for quick jobs I use a 3M N95 masks. If you have adressed all the above i apologise am a new sub. Your work is incredible.

      @pnwhomebody 6 місяців тому

      I 💯 agree! I have the Festool system coming soon! I’m so excited to have a professional sander! I was always a hobby flipper so never even considered it until recently! I appreciate your feedback so much and thank you for subscribing!! 🤍
