Chicago is where Anton Lavey published the satanic Bible the same year Manson was born, 1969. Enjoyed the worship today. Loved singing with you and hearing the message. It shed light on the Bible Study I am doing on the Tabernacle and the sacrificial system. You re-tell all the OT stories as Paul does but you miss Paul’s entire point. Paul isn’t saying Hid chooses who is his family, that’s what the Jews thought already. No, Paul is teaching that God has chosen all to be in his family. You say that Paul is teaching God chooses by the promise who will be his and it is not by works, but the Jews had thought it was by works. When Paul told them the Gentiles were now let into the family because of God’s promise-TO THE JEWS- the Jews flipped out. And then you miss the entire point that God told Rebekah that the ELDER will serve the YOUNGER. You don’t connect who is the elder and who is the younger. Here Paul is reversing the roles because now the Jews are complaining about the loss of their inheritance to these latecomers, just like Esau! And the Gentiles have come in at the end and been also given the inheritance, just like Jacob! Paul is using the OT stories that the Jews knew well, reversing the roles, to show their arrogant hypocrisy while abolishing the some-chosen-some-not-chosen theology of Judaism and now also of Calvinism, not supporting it.
