How To Become World Class At Anything In 6 Months Or Less: 4 Hour Chef
Tim Ferriss' new book, 4 Hour Chef, looks and sounds like a cookbook, but it's actually a book about meta learning and rapid skill acquisition. We interviewed Tim Ferriss about his book, what he learned about food and cooking, and how you, too, can learn to become world class at anything in 6 months or less!

hey tim i want really to start a youtube channel and share my cooking skills with healthy food because it is really my passion but i am clueless how to start or what you best need to shoot cooking vids? and can it also with a low budget like alone with your phone and a stick or something where you put your phone one? thanks alot!
hey, did you bought the 4 hour chef. how is it.
Buy the British edition then.
At first I was all "I don't want to watch a 4 hour trailer!" ... =P
i want to lose pounds
Could you tell me whats the song?
that golf swing... :S
This one leaves me wanting more...
I think I like this version the best, gives an inkling as to the 'extras' a standard cook book hasn't got and makes me want to buy it. A teaser
Someone should check his shirt. I think it's out of focus.
Cool...!
Egg into Onion into Basketball...brilliant! Love the music and the speed so I enjoy the longer version the best.
This 15 sec version is [B]EST. Great editing, quick to the point.... leaves the viewer feeling AMPED for the release.
I only know that because of following Tim's discussions elsewhere. Tried to look at it as someone who knows nothing about what Tim writes. The opening shot looks more like a scene from the beginning of a police thriller introducing the suspect and the crime than about hunting, skinning, and cooking over an open fire.
I prefer the 15 second trailer. The 8 second one made me laugh. The thirty second one gave so much information that it intensified a feeling of incompleteness.
In the few short seconds I saw him in the woods (woods, knives, bird), I understood that I was going to learn how to catch wild animals and cook them. I felt the same about the rest of the video.
Same issue as 30-second trailer. Better lead-in would be the same zoom in on the book, or the last bit where it freezes looking at the book.
Opening flash of you in the woods is too short and doesn't help build any of the rest of the story. Other than that, similar impact to full video.
Very creative....love it! Nice soundtrack too. Vote goes to the 30 sec.
I saw the inverted aeropress snippet.. that is the best way in my opinion.. helps make this book more legit in my eyes.
Good job...makes me want to see the book.
I like this one the best. Great job.
This is you all over, Tim - which means I'm probably going to buy this book. Not into cooking, but very into learning new things. Looks great.
Being older than most of your readers, I like the full-length (on website) video best. Having watched info turned into smaller and smaller bytes as time went by, I believe the 30 second version has much of the same message and will appeal more to your core audience. I've ordered the hardcopy (to work on my lats, of course) and can't wait for it to get here! I would have bought it for my Kindle, but with 2000 books already on it, there wouldn't be storage!
This looks awesome, will definitely be adding this to my collection. I prefer this version of the ad the most, although the 8 second ad made me laugh out loud.
Glad I pre-ordered
Awesome
My vote is for the longer one. I'm sure you're measuring the view times and abandonment rates for all though and will go with the best performing.
Nicely done. Got me more interested in the book then the website or the synopsis.
Love the music. Very cool video Tim
This is the best version. Short and sweet
keeneye production and editing!
Let's get this on TV.
Sooo looking forward to this!!
Yeehaaa! Can't wait =)
Excited!
Makes me want to buy your book. Great teaser!
I dig it...the only thing that has me cringing a little bit is the 3 pt jumper (shown in extended version)... i hope he got Ray Allen for that.
So excited for the new book man. This is going to be huge! Especially for those thinking that this is just some slow carb recipes. Thanks for everything. #zeno
I'm there Tim - I've read the 4 hour body, incorporated the eating and supplement regimen exactly as suggested, lost over 20 pounds (that is about what I needed to lose) over a 2 month period and I am maintaining the new me by staying on the path. I really look forward to the new book - cheers!
Ah shucks (sorry,,,RC started it). Awesome video. Look forward to more as the book release date gets closer.
