Is the article mentioned here worth the ~$130.. 900 yuan price tag
@@UndergroundVersa 980 Yen is like 6USD brother
@@JoshFrinkPTCGsite says Chinese Yuan not yen.. but maybe my google translate wasn’t doing it correctly. lol. Thanks for letting me know.
im so bad at playing this deck. i run through my deck all the time without doing anything. wasting resources
if you make a video with the updated astral crown cards
hello according to you dragapult - charizard with dasknoir and strong
Is pokebeach a good paid app to have?
this video is so lit and very helpful!!!!
Great video easy sub
Thank you :)
Thanks for all the great advice. I have found watching your play has taught me a lot that I didn’t realize just practicing in a vacuum.
Thanks so much! My main goal as a creator is to help people grow as players so I'm happy to know I'm succeeding in that somewhat!
How Klefki can turn off Fez? Fez draws cards after KO, Klefki needs to be Active Pokemon for it's ability to work, and I highly doubt anyone is taking KO with Klefki :D
its actually not that uncommon to be honest, especially against something like Raging Bolt which plays a lot of Bravery Charms
@@JoshFrinkPTCG could you elaborate please?
@@brakfajnegonicku wdym? You hit a bolt or Ogerpon for enough to KO without charm or set it up with Munki and then you use joust to remove the charm and it dies
@@JoshFrinkPTCG oh yea! I forgot about tool removal
Amazing content, thank you! I was looking for the tcgmasters simulator site for too long! I would also recommend my.limitless site too to build or modify decks. (Also has tools like printing deck list for league challenges or proxy printing, importing deck list to ptcg live and playtesting)
Oh, this is good! I just wrote a Magic article a bit ago basically complaining about how all of this info is really well known in Magic but not so much in Pokemon. Still wish more existed, but this is great.
Yeah we’re definitely more in the beginning stages of access to info, but the growth over the last few years has been crazy
Thanks for the advice but I've already learned everything i will ever need to know from The J Wittz. I can't lose.
What website would you recommend for looking at pokemon in the format? For example, if i were building a Sylveon ex deck and wanted to see the eevee's i have to choose from
If you go to Limitless under “tools” there is a deck builder feature where you can create lists for the standard format which should show you all of your options!
Thanks for the shout out! This is a very helpful video for aspiring competitors well done 👏🏻
Thank you so much! Love the content :)
Is pidgeot control really B tier as i have seen pidgeot control gameplays and they really shut down most of the decks if u know what to do. Currently main zard ex , trying to go for pidgeot control or zard control deck. I just started 1 month+
These are the kind of videos i love. Guides to make players better. Awesome video!
Thank you so much! Very informative, very helpful piece of content you put out there. For starting players, it feels kinda hard to find the right resources without being linked to a random metafy instantly. Really appreciate your work!
@@jajaja93427 of course! I’m certainly an advocate for coaching as a coach myself, but there is certainly a time and a place to be recommending it
Great content, I knew most of the resources but definitely added James Cox’s UA-cam channel. Keep up the great videos!
Thanks so much! James is an excellent players and creator you certainly won’t regret it
awesome content, i'm sure your channel will be very big very soon - such high quality informations for people just starting out
Thank you so much it means a lot
This video will help new players for years to come!
This kinda content is gold
I love this video, thank you so much. I used this deck at a local today and won 1 game against Raging Bolt, and lost to Regidrago and Charizard. Getting to Gardevoir was fast, but getting enough energy in discard was probably the biggest problem that I had. Would you say that you wait on evolving to Gardevoir until you feel like you either have enough energy in the discard/have enough ways to get cards there?
yes absolutely! No reason to put the liability in play unless you can utilize it. Against certain matchups though you kind of just need to get Gardevoir into play so your opponent doesn't remove all of your kirlias (Drago, Turtle, Palkia, etc.)
@@JoshFrinkPTCG I’ve been trying Perfect Mixer as the ace spec to load the discard with energy quickly, at home it works against my wife’s deck (but granted she’s not that good haha). Curious to know what your thoughts on Perfect Mixer with HeadQuarters instead of Secret Box with Hill would be.
Im not josh but it seems okay actually. It allows you to get a very consistent t2 300 with drifloon. This is kinda nice@bw2020
Any matchups where you'd favour going 2nd asides from Bolt?
I play the slower stamp version but i like going first against Bolt because it gives the chance to put klefki and shut down their plays.
@@renewilksen4017 Bolt can't really get much going on their first turn aside from Nest Ball, Ogerpons, Greninja and Pokestop. So not letting them attack from their turn 1 is big and gives u an enormous advantage in the prize trade
Generally speaking I'm choosing 2nd into Snorlax as well, but the deck doesn't really have enough arvens to sustainably choose second elsewhere
16:33 What do you think about secret box for evo research and like vessel here ?
I think it’s a bit over aggressive, it costs a lot of resources and if I’m assuming my opponent is going to Greninja me anyways there’s no reason to over aggress. If I didn’t have candy in hand already then maybe I would have considered it a bit more!
@@JoshFrinkPTCG that's fair thanks
I understand all the reasons why Fez is good, but with all the kirlia draw power do you ever feel like Fez is a liability because it’s the only two prizer people can boss KO at the end? Otherwise it’s a 6 knockouts they have to take instead of 4-5.
In games you can keep kirlias on the bench fez is less useful but it's really tough to do so in the current format so fez in an extra draw engine that allows you to draw cards when you need to dig deeper or you don't have access to kirlia. Also is less a liability whe you have 3 charms you can attach to make it really tough to KO
@@mathiascs7271 I guess I’m just scarred by raging bolt Pokemon catcher for the win lol
@@simplysaso I mean, Raging bolt doesn't pressure your board too much so you probably won't need to bench it in this matchup
@@mathiascs7271 ah that just clicked for me. The idea of only benching it for match up’s I know can’t one hit KO it with a charm or no charm and not Benching it in matchups I know can’t KO like bolt. That’s the ticket
@@simplysasoright, basically against bolt you’re also up trading anyways (trading 1 prizers for 2 prizers) so the threat that they present is pretty low overall
Thinking of including Manaphy?
You definitely can! It's good against Drago and Palkia but I don't think it really fixes either of them specifically, so it's up to you if its worth while
@justplaythegame3110 dont know if you seen it, but rowan stavenow has a very good interview with henry chao in his channel where henry talks about manaphy in this list. worth checking out if you like this style of gardy
Henry recommends against it!
What’s the sequence for getting the 330 with drifloon/charm/hill?
Psychic embrace 5 to drifloon, moonlit hill puts drifloon down to 70, then you psychic embrace 2 more to put you at 110 damage
On the last game against chari dragapult couldnt you use munkidori, turo and then night stretcher for the dark energy to win? you can KO anything they have in bench with Gardy instead of just atacking the charmander
@@milavt8143 yeah I could’ve, this video took me 4 hours to film so at that point all spirit had left my body
@@JoshFrinkPTCG Understandable, Munkidori plus turo is one of my favorite plays because I feel so big brained when I do it lol
@@JoshFrinkPTCG btw thanks a lot of this video! I am trying to learn to play this variant of Gardevoir and is kinda hard to me because I am used to play really slow with 2 Munkis and just spreading damage
@@milavt8143 Oh I'm 100% the same way, transitioning to turbo gardy from standard Gardy has been a journey haha
You should never use the PokéStop. Most decks are not set up to use PokéStop and I have noticed that usually over 80% of time you lose cards that you do not want to lose.
This is pretty bad advice. You should 100% use Pokestop in positions where you have no other option, if you're going to lose anyways you may as well take the small % chance of getting bailed out.
Lugia is definitely a starter deck. If you’re playing Pokémon for the first time, this is one of the easiest decks to play. There’s not much strategy or thought that goes into it. I like something this much more challenging like control or stall. With it, you have to think a turn or two ahead Versus something like Lugia is pretty simple to play. There’s hardly any challenge to it or thinking whatsoever. A five year-old child could play Lugia. 45:05 that was a bad play on their part. They bench locked their self to where they can only get one chops out. That was an absolute stupid play. That was pretty awesome on your side. You only had to knock two of them out. You destroyed them. And you did get extremely lucky top decking the boss.
I agree Lugia is pretty easy haha
@@alllivesmatter627 top decking what you need every time is the most powerful skill 😂
33:00 you absolutely should have bossed up the bonnet. If he couldn’t poison, then there was no way for him to knock you out. 41:20 I wouldn’t say they’re much better than you. It’s the fact they’re having a much better draw than you are.
lugia's strongest hater 😅
I despise this deck
Lugia ❤
>:(
After watching the whole stream I don’t think I want to play Lugia ever again 😂
Seeing a stall concede just put a smile on my face❤learned something today, great strategy!
I'm glad to help :)
was it a bug on research or something?
It's a bug with Area Zero, sometimes the game just doesn't give you that card specifically when you draw it
It would be nice if you moved your video feed to either the top left or bottom left so you can see how many cards you have left. 1:46:25 you could’ve won that turn if you had been putting damage on the 60 HP on the bench.
Eri would’ve helped you against lost box
Not having Banette Gardy on the list though 😮 I think it's a solid B tier pick in my opinion
I agree, Banette Gardevoir is a solid deck, I just hadn't played any games with it, so didn't feel confident with ranking it somewhere
I really appreciate the frequency of your videos, you have a very objective take on things and I feel like there are not that many professional pokemon tcg channels. I just started playing the game a few weeks ago and really enjoy your videos. Keep up!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that :)
Maybe I just have to keep playing Bolt 🥲
Great stuff, hope to see more stuff like this!
On ur second turn wouldnt it better to use ultra ball for another noctowl then use quick search
Gonna beat the comments here and say in the Regidrago game I had the opportunity to Pal Pad back my Colress's Experiment to prevent my opponent from being able to use Kyurem's attack. I don't know what I was thinking haha
I fell called out (I was about to comment that lol)
my goat!
Man I'm so happy to see my lost box getting a last dance before rotation, but still a lost cause against regidrago rigth?
Do you ever start Terapagos when you also have noctowl/fan rotom? Or is it better to play safe and bench something else and then get around it with switch/prime catcher?
generally speaking you want to start your 1 prizers if you don't know the matchup. If you do know the matchup and it's one where you're not going to be punished for starting turtle, then you can!
I just started playing Pokémon a few weeks ago and you became my favorite source of content. It would be great to have a video on strategies against this deck. I chose raging bolt and roaring moon ex as my decks and terapagos is giving me some issues with its versatility. Great vid!
Hey thank you so much that means a lot to me! Im intending to do a video on the Bolt list that won Louisville and I'll try and talk about the matchup into turtles there
is lost box not used as of now?
No not currently
I hope raging bolt champion
Go MIRAIDON EX!!!
