I only got thru 10 mins of this content. Can I offer some constructive criticism as to why? I found what you were saying to be interesting, but you repeated every point you made about 5 times. If something is super important, then perhaps one repetition, but endlessly repeating literally everything you say is both redundant and boring. If in doubt, less talking and more playing will probably serve you well as a guideline.

Yamaha sounds more crisp and authentic imho. Morw natural This is probably why it cost double the numa gt. But thank yoi for the very good playing that allowed a good comparision

Hello. Iam from Portugal. What is your opinion in therms of live situation, punch sound that appears with quality, there is much diference between them? I have a yamaha yc 73, and iam a little diasapointed with the dynamic range of the keybed. The studiologic has punch quality sound on live PA situation? Thanks

the numa doesn't have any reverb on it , yet the nord does , not a very clever thing to do for acoustic piano comparasion ? why , hard to tell in these conditions !!!

Which of the two actions seems harder to you? heavier and better for "training" to have stronger fingers. thank you!

This is very subjective…I have a YC61, same pianos as other YC and I also have a Numa X. I could happily use either, but the recent software update for the Numa has me leaning to Studiologic for now. Really good ep too.

I watched another review on the numa and it was pointed out that the numa didn't have good dynamic range. Instead of using more samples for soft playing they just use a filter instead, so playing softly doesn't use a soft piano sample, just a filter, bit like just reducing the volume and turning the tone down. Plus there is not a smooth transition from soft to loud, it jumps at a certain point. So it would not be my choice for solo piano. The Yamaha has a better Piano tone imo, however for the price they should have included dynamic resonance instead of just damper resonance. However, as a stage keyboard in a mix its probably less important compared to solo playing. So between the two, the Yamaha has more usable piano tones, so would be my choice.

Thanks for the comparison, I enjoyed it! I have the Numa X73 myself. It's annoying changing from one sustain or effect pedal to another, as I know myself. You might try a 'Y' jack of some kind to send the same sustain pedal messages to both instruments. it might be worth a shot.

Very interesting comparison, thank you! The audible differences in acoutic pianos are partially due to the cut "acoustic" effects of the Yamaha CP88, they optimized it for stage, not recording or pleasant sound at home. Both instruments have excellent keyboard actions, but I wish the CP88 and especially the YC88 would have got the GrandTouch-S as built in P-525 or PCL-745. It has lighter weighted hammers, allows outstanding playing acoustic piano sounds and is far more accomplished if playiing an e-piano, synth or organ sound.

The piano sound on the numa is not my favorite. It definitely dosnt sound authentic the way Yahama does. The quality of the cp88 is definitely better sounding.

Please somebody tell me that has some better option of keybeds in another brand that is as good as this fp40 from numa!? I just can pay 21 thousand in a piano that I hat the sounds!

Have you ever tried Kawai VPC1 action? I am trying to decide between the Numa and VPC1. Interested only in the piano action. For referente I had a Roland PHA50 action was good but not close to a real piano. Tried VPC1 and liked It a lot but I cant try the Numa. I wonder which IS better. Also for some reason I like more VPC1 action compared to MP11SE one.

Great job! Which one feels the best to you? Lovely playing, I'm green with envy! I think I prefer the Studio Logic sound. It sounds fuller and warmer to me. But that doesn't matter since I use Pianoteq.

How’s the key noise between the two; with the volume off? Hard to decide which to get for studio… both are tasty :)

The numa sounds nice but it’s not a sampled instrument the way the yahama is and if you turn it up you can hear it. The numa just sounds like a colored waveform, the yahama sounds definately more realistic to me

Are these the default sounds mate?? Hi mate, I'm debating myself to buy a Numa X 88. I have got a YC 88 I am not so happy with the result. I come from a Yamaha CVP 505. My main interest is the piano accoustic sound. With one great sound thats good enough to me. If other extra sounds were to be good, that's an extra.

great review. I have decided to go with the Numa X Piano GT to record all my digital improv. My current keys (yamaha-p15) have served me well but with every keystroke they make a thumping mechanical sound which is probably due to the plastic keys. Looking forward using the Numa as a midi interface for Pianoteq 8!

Thanks, for a great review! It's very helpful when someone knowledgeable shares opinions about the good AND maybe bad things about gear. I'm subscribed. I've got the Numa X Piano 73 key version with the TP110 keybed and I mostly like it. To me, it feels a lot better than keyboards I've had with the TP100. I've just sold my Nord Electro 5D73 and kept the Numa. A couple of the reasons for that are 1) that the Nord's SW, synth-weighted action was uncomfortable for me when playing piano parts, and 2) many of Nord's piano samples, while they sound great in certain circumstances, don't sound particularly impressive compared to other keyboards when everything is in MONO. Before I sold my Nord, I compared the two as far as pianos (Numa and Nord), in stereo and in mono. Nord won by a fair amount in stereo, but in mono situations, where many of us, myself included, do gigs, an expensive Nord keyboard didn't sound better. That's just my opinion.

Per le mie orecchie e perché ho avuto molti pianoforti di diverse case prestigiose, di cui uno steinway B-211, mi oriento per il nima x gt88.Togliendo il tocco, la pesatura e l'equilibrio dei fulcri sui tasti, é chiaro che un digitale non potrà mai divenire un vero pianoforte acustico. Ció nonostante lo Staff italiano ha superato ogni frontieta come campionamenti, sensori, costruzioni dei tasti fatar tp400 wood, che in verità sono in un materiale leggerissimo, indistruttibile, equilibrato al giusto punto e i tasti lateralmente sono rivestiti in legno come estetica. Da ció che emerge dalla relazione fatta dall'ingegnere della "fatar". In ogni caso ho visto dei filmati in sequenze di costruzione dell'intero piano che portano ad una soluzione di diverse campionature di suoni autentici steinway, con tutti i livelli di tocco, tramite un macchinario pilotato da un pc, fatto in pressione in diverse azioni su tasto, riportati minuziosamente per ogni singolo tasto. In questo modo si sfruttano al meglio i 3 sensori per tasto. Poi lo "scappamento", inoltre é reale la risonanza delle corde e dei pedali sustain etc. Poi il modelling che dichiarano sembra funzionare bene sui piani digitali elettronici vintage. La risultanza finale é la preferenza al numa x gt studiologic sia per qualità, prezzo, tastiera fatar tp 400 in pseudo legno. Saluti. Modesto 🎉

The studio logic sounds more like a real piano and has prettier sound, the Roland sounds a little on the boring side.

Don't make yourself an idiot trying to play Spain. Also use a Rhodes sound Sorry for my comment ,you should made a sound by sound comparison using you're piano skills you are not chick...just play you're style.. I had the studiologic nice pianos and some Rhodes but the rest you can't edit the sounds.

I watched the review videos carefully. I'm planning to get a new master keyboard, and I'm considering the CP88, Numa Piano X GT, and FP90X. My priorities are as follows: 1. I'm looking for a keyboard with excellent piano touch, as piano playing is my main focus, and touch sensitivity is crucial for me. 2. I also do MIDI. Considering these factors, do you have any recommendations? In fact, I plan to use VSTi piano sounds, so having good built-in sounds is a plus, but it's not a strict requirement. I think CP88 might have a slight advantage in terms of built-in sounds. I've watched various videos about the GT, but the piano tone doesn't quite resonate with me. For someone who primarily uses VSTi, it might seem excessive to purchase the GT solely for its touch sensitivity, but there is a certain desire for an enhanced touch experience, making the decision challenging. Currently, I am using the SL88 Grand, and I am satisfied with its touch to some extent.🙄
