Liberty Bell Beekeepers Urban Beekeeping
Приєднався 20 тра 2017
Welcome to Liberty Bell Beekeepers, located in Philadelphia, PA. I am a beekeeper, a craftsman, a gardener, and father. I perform honeybee and wasp removals, as well as raise and sell bees. My life is a little different than most, and I hope you enjoy the experiences here as much as I do in real life.
Liberty Bell Beekeepers is dedicated to keeping honeybees in an urban setting and show off some ideas I have had in creating my apiary, my shop, and my gardens.
We get into a little bit of everything and as it grows, hope to show just what it takes to make a dream come true.
Welcome.

This little one was only about a month old, and my guess is it was a very small swarm. #bee #beelife #honeybee #queenbee #honey #honeybees #savethebees #smallbusiness #swarms #removal #beekeeping

Honeybee Removal: Pillar Removal
Переглядів 59Місяць тому
Woodpeckers opened up this pillar, and the bees moved right on in. Very common for this scenario to take place. these are reasonably easy to perform, and the bees were in a box and back to work later that day. #honeybee #bee #beelife #queenbee #honey #honeybees #savethebees #smallbusiness #swarms

nice
That's cool!! We have 2 Harley Road Kings.
I like the new faster way to get to swarms!!!!
@rodneymiddleton9624 use it for consultations all the time.
@@libertybellbeekeepers Awesome!
thats Pretty Dam Cool... Looking GOOD!
I see them in my garden everyday. Never see bees. They do a good job of pollinating my garden.
Have you noticed that there are some type of other nest where the bees make their hives in voids? I see it a lot. Thanks Craig!
Find honeybees near old wasp nests and vice versa, all the time.
First!!!!
We haven’t had any rain in about 4 weeks and it’s so dry. Beautiful Colony Craig!
You just did a hive removal on my house😅
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Nice and small but healthy looks like.
You got her!!!!!!
Great job Craig!!! I have a double 40 feet of the ground in each end of a soffit coming up this weekend. Wish me luck!
Good luck, strap in, be safe.
@@libertybellbeekeepers Thanks partner!
That comb was beautiful!!! That's easy to frame up if it's not too soft. Thanks Craig!
So what do you do with all the swarms you remove? Keep, give away?
Gigando beehive!
Nice work! Do you repair those jobs?
Yes, most times.
@@libertybellbeekeepers Cool!
WOW, awesome
How do you do that
Just like I did it in the video! Thanks for watching
I don't know what's up with this season. Same is going on here waaaaaaaayy too early.
Honey Drunk!! Robbing is pretty bad here too. Thanks!
What luck!!!!!!! Thanks!
That’s too freaking cool! Never seen that before! Thanks!
Two things I've never seen. A brood cell being capped, and a wax flake being attached.
Yeah, that would be cool to see. Maybe catch it in an observation hive.
Awesome!
Nice work Craig!
For sure!!!
my goddness that colony is huge,, good for you its a monster,,
I have a bumblebee nest that I rescued. Thanks!
Thats a beautiful open-air colony. Those I try to hang a plastic tote under them to catch everything. Thanks Craig!
Nice looking colony Craig! I did one yesterday through a 5 inch bathroom vent hole that filled 2 bee vac canisters and the size was crazy. I filled 1 58 qt. tote and half of another. It was a drippy mess with temps in the upper 80's. Thanks!
What do you do with all these beautiful (maybe untreated) bees?
They are all untreated as far as I know. They come home with me. Some go out for honey production. Others stay in my breeding yard. Survivors go up for sale next year.
Gotta love a easy one! Thanks Craig!
I love raccoons
Those raccoons???
ye
Yes, sounded like a few of them in there.
Wtf it was already in a cage tho?? 😂
😆That other contraption is for marking the queen with a water based marker that signifies the year she was born.
@@libertybellbeekeepers lol 😂 I get that but it’s like you already have her captured in a sort of cage so “how to get her in a cage” is nonsense bc she’s not flying around she’s just being moved from one to another 😅
Awesome job!!!!
Making great memories.
And car/college money!
Nice work❤❤❤❤
Nope. No. Not doing it ever!
Why? Safest way to transport her, and although she does have a stinger, once she's mated she really can't use it.
Thought it said "gaging a queen honeybee". Mind starts wondering why i watch so much internet
This bee is like why am I in jail 🥲
Its just temporary, for safe transport.
@@libertybellbeekeepersit was a joke 😭
Friends!
Yessir.
I’m going to do my first cut out tomorrow. I learn a lot watching your videos. Thank you for making them.
Best of luck to you. Site prep is hugely important, take great care of your customer! If there's one thing that I learned in 25 years of contracting, keeping your customer's home/business clean is about as important as anything else you do. Work toward the entrance if possible, keep some water and a sponge handy, and keep eyes out for that queen!
WHAT DOES THIS ATTIC JOB BILL AT? CURIOUS ABOUT STARTING MYSELF BUT VERY HARD TO RESEARCH INCOME INFO. HOW TO CHARGE OR BID A JOB. WHAT ARE THINGS TO ACCOUNT CHARGE FOR? PEACE...
It's a business and should be treated as such. I can't tell you what to charge. Construction/ building experience is probably the most important thing. Your level of experience should be taken seriously into consideration, as it's very easy to get in over your head when it comes to opening someone's home or business. Insurance, business licenses, proper tools and equipment, all necessary. Come up with a business plan, including all of the things mentioned above and if there are others doing it in your area, and you'll have an idea as to what you should, and can charge for the services to be provided. It might not be a viable full-time business for some parts of the country, and it is not as easy as it can be made to look on social media. Hope that's helpful.
They are mean customers!!
Pine needles are great! I refill my stash the same way!!!
She's a beautiful Italian!!!!
At the top of the bees moving from right to left
Some nice straight combs there, probably fit perfectly into mediums. I'd be so cramped and sore in that position. 😆
It is a tough position to be in. And the comb would have fit perfectly in mediums, but the roof pitch wouldn't allow for me to to just lay it into medium frames pr the cell orientation would have been sideways.
The picture quality is trash
It's gets better if you're subscribed. 😆
@@libertybellbeekeepers Fair play 🤣
@@libertybellbeekeepers I have to remember that one!
