An Alaskan living in Los Angeles, getting out to camp, adventure, and scale mountains with friends and family. Having a demanding career, a wife and three kids and living in one of the world's most populated cities, I didn't think this life was possible until I decided it was. If I can do it, you can do it. Let's get outside together.

This summer, my adventure partner Dave and I embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime camping and sea kayaking journey through the breathtaking glaciers of Alaska's Blackstone Bay! 🚣♂️❄️. We explored the stunning Prince William Sound, paddling solo kayaks from Alaska Sea Kayakers and chartering a boat from Whittier with the amazing team at Epic Charters Alaska.
For two unforgettable days, we got up close to towering glaciers, enjoyed the serenity of Alaska’s wild beauty, and dined on sizzling cheese bratwursts cooked to perfection in a cast iron pan. 🌭🔥. Life doesn’t get much better than this!
Huge thanks to:

If you're dreaming of kayaking adventures in Prince William Sound, I can't recommend these companies enough. Their expertise made this trip smooth, safe, and truly incredible!
📹 Filmed on the GoPro Hero 12 Black
As always, preparation is key. While I'm no kayaking pro, I respect the ocean’s power and stayed well within my risk tolerance. 🌊 Safety first, adventure always!

If you liked this video please SUBSCRIBE to ua-cam.com/channels/mUc5M308w2NbvCCpjvNmRg.html for more camping adventures. December 30th 2023, I solo winter camped atop Mt. Baldy, the tallest mountain in Los Angeles County. Also known as Mt. San Antonio, with steep slopes and an elevation of 10,064 ft (3,068 m), this mountain is one of my absolute favorites in Southern California. It offers a tru...
Great documentation!!!
Bivy bags can be fun but i like a bivy that a bit more roomy and that you can open on the side.
❤
Great documentation cuz ❤ love😊 it !!!!!
Thank you cuz. Really appreciate you watching!
Be nice to know why it was bad sleep.
way to hot for a warmish summer night in AK!
@guywhocamps ah. That makes sense. Thank you.
Would be a dream to kayak there!
You have to make it up to Alaska my friend!
I never knew I needed these videos in my life. And now I do know that I need them in my life. 😎👍
Love you Rob!
amazing scenery!
Truly! Thanks for watching Jeremy!
I dig the history lessons!
Glad to hear it!
Epic!
Was something new for sure!
Most of the time, I don’t care about home videos on UA-cam; I prefer informational content, which is why I watch them. That being said, it warmed my heart to see you and your daughter backpacking together. My son and I used to do that when he was her age; now he’s 38. You don’t know me from Adam, but trust me, it’s a wonderful bonding experience, and the memories will last you both a lifetime. My son once told me, “Dad, you know what I love about camping?” I replied, “No, what?” He said, “There's always something that goes wrong, and those moments make for great stories.” I encourage you to take every opportunity to go camping and backpacking with your daughter.
Yeah... Thats a situation for an alpine bivy and a tarp.
So sweet!!!
That is my dad❤
🐐
I bet I live in Alaska so I bet he had the worst sleep yet
I thought maybe you got it because of the price tag… I see now that I was wrong. That is crazy expensive
We do a lot of mountaineering and this is something you would carry as an emergency shelter. Lightweight, waterproof, breathable, but definitely not designed for a summer night out.
ZFG 🤔
Yeah when Jason gets a new piece of gear he’s not quitting until he’s tried it
Looks like a bear burrito....
Truth. We saw LOTS of bear scat on that trip
So does every tent or sleeping bag ever...
Worsen night sleep lol sorry to hear that
And somehow he was ready to rock the next morning. Jason is the energizer bunny
You look like you camped before the summit, so under 10,000 feet.
Haha, yeah had to bail to the treeline
I miss Mt Baldy. My profile pic is the devil's backbone.
That’s a sick photo. We’re so lucky to have this in LA’s backyard
Hey it is your nesse
True. I ain’t mad at it. was a great camping trip.
Thanks for putting together another delightfully entertaining and informative camping video. I love Violet. She's a natural, and true compliment to her dad. I hope to see more of you two "camping it up!"
Thank you for the kind words Mandolina!
That was a lot of fun to see a new side of Joshua tree and your kiddo is such a trooper!
Thanks my friend!
I'm an Arizonan and a little older now so I don't hit the trail as much as I once did ( spent a lot of time off trail and hiking the Superstitions ) but it's nice exploring new places even if it's vicariously.
100% this trip was a first for me. After going through the hassle of booking campsites at J-Tree I was very curious about backcountry camping in the park.
sick video brother
You're the man!
No you’re the man Cam!
Great video - I hope your channel takes off!
Thanks Daniel. I really appreciate it!
Just subscribed and watched with a friend from Anchorage. We are watching from Vietnam.
Thanks Nelson. I’ve traveled extensively in Vietnam. Beautiful country.

What an epic adventure!
I never went up there during winter. I want to do this one day.
You absolutely should. It's mind-blowing that you can have a full winter hiking/climbing experience an hour from the beach.
@@guywhocamps I live close to Mt. Baldy. It's just up the hill. I need to get some cold weather gear for backpacking. All of mine are for spring/summer. I just did a winter Timber Mountain ascent.
Thanks for sharing. It was a great video and very inspiring!!
Thanks for watching brother
Bro went up on the same day as me, just a few hours after I started and got to enjoy and beautiful, somewhat clear and sunny hike while I got blasted with ice and wind almost the whole way up 😐. The summit was just whiteout while you got a beautiful sunset haha. Glad you enjoyed the hike though and saw the views you did! I don’t remember seeing you on the way down, so maybe I was already done by then.
Way to get after it! The weather was definitely all over the place. I tried to time it so I didn't get soaked on the way up or else that would have made for a miserable camp.
Wow, amazing view, my friend. By the way, what camera did you use?
Thank you! GoPro Hero12. It's an incredible all-in-one camera that handled the elements great.
@@guywhocamps You're welcome! Thank you for answering my question. Happy hiking. If you have time try to visit here in the Philippines and climb our mountains.
@@TrioTravelersPH I would love that.
