I was homeless in vermont for 5 years, 4 winters in a row,and secret to keeping my tent warm and dry was,roofing insulation 4 foot by 8 foot sheets,3 inch thick,under the tent,on top of plastic,and I had a buddy,and ran a 8 foot hose to a 20lbs propane tank, and I would get 2 and half weeks out of a 15 dollar tank.I loved it and was happy then.So,I understand your situation
