Thanks for explaining what is going on. A mortal pvp video popped up in my feed and i was like why is everyone spinning. This video does a good job explaining exactly what is going on and why it is even possible. Gotta be honest though. It looks stupid and unappealing from the perspective of someone on the outside looking in. However, I've played a handful of games with janky combat, and I know that when you have mastered a janky game's weird techniques it adds another layer of depth to the game. To each their own if its fun, then more power to you guys.

When you butcher the carcus, it increases your skills, making it easier to kill humans later. Do this with the pigs also. Then cook the carcus and you will level other skills. I was leaving the bodies until I watch another video and found out. The zombies will teach you how to block. The bandits are beasts. You really need to know what you're doing or you will die.

What I did before leaving haven: 1. Walk to the docks. 2. Leave haven.

I got say my biggest issue with the combat in this game is desynic, I'll have people hitting me when they're no were next to me than the sec they hit me they turn around and run in the opposite direction so when I go to hit them back not only was I already not within range to hit them to begin with now I have no chance of counter attacking. Most of my 1v1 fights are like this even people with daggers are strangely hitting me when they're a mile away from me. I think this the same issue I had in MO1 too I remember a fight in that game were I was fighting a magic that was casting spells an hitting me when he was running from me and wasn't facing me, when I talked to him after the fight he said I was in front of him running away on his screen which made no sense, how was he in front of me running away on mine but I was in front of him running away on his. P.S: the ballerinas fighting also doesn't help this case either IMO having to spin around like a ballerinas is an example of just poor game design, they made parrying too strong and attacks to slow simple as that. MO1 never required players to RP ballerinas in order to land hits.

that's fkn worst part of the game. in pvp there is all over running ballerinas spinning like a bey-blade and deal dmg all over the area. you have to master unusual weird behavior things that even not even close to realism at all.

The reading book is a noob trap, if you read another book, instead of the reading book, the times are very comparable between reading the reading book, then another book or two, rather than just reading the books directly.

In my opinion the Thursar Shaman is by far the best build for gathering and fishing. The Thursar Beastmaster with his cougar is a close second.

SV thinks the spins are an integral part of their combat system. Jumping and spinning circles like bey blades, part of combat. Right.

2:20 use Feints (same keybinding as walking) instead blocking to interrupt your swings. if you use blocking it takes too much time

Look up on side swing and down on overheads! With swords and axe, the right and overhead swing animations look similar when you do it.

Thanks for the video! it's helpful. I myself cannot do that. I simply refuse to do 360 tricks and whatnot because I think it break (my personal) immersiveness, and immersion is literally the reason I like MO2. I hope they succeed in making the combat system deep and interesting enough so that people don't resort to such gimmicks. The problem I see is that the roadmap is probably for the next decade, probably. I like MO2, but we should absolutely judge it as if it were MO1, in the sense that, there were so many updates that were added when the population was irreversibly low that in the end, the for majority of the life of the game, it had a very tiny population. Port that in MO2, where the devs want to make the game 5X bigger, and with far and sparse updates, I'm afraid it won't be enough to keep the game interesting for the vast majority of people... Right now, there is one thing to do : duel, or gank solos. Everything else (and I do mean everything) is just the grind to get the gear up to par for that ganking, or pvp duels. The sales pitch for MO2 was quite different, where PvP was a part of a whole, an ever present risk in a world where you could do whatever you wanted, with awesome PvE fights and 3 tier of AI and a rich map to explore and discover.... They really put effort to try and cater to every kind of players that enjoy dangerous adventure game But in the present state, PvP IS the game, to it's full extent. much closer to Mordhau with more steps added before enjoying the fighting, than a real, deep adventure game. That said, the roadmap is nice, and IF (big big if) they can implement most of it in a timely manner (that would be less than a year, before the population is reduced to a couple hundred players), then I really believe the game could achieve it's potential, or at least part of it. That's just how I see things. I like the game, but I expected it to be so so much more. I do hope it will, because I bought that game thinking and hoping it would be the mmorpg to end them all, like a true successor to UO. It can be, but it sorely lacks different content before achieving that.
