Even though your melee build won against Balteus, trying to melee the smart cleaner is a mistake, even the pile bunker only does 2000 damage or so against it. But since most of its attacks are on the ground, go for a tetrapod and float in the air, and hit it with ranged weapons. The ammo costs are not going to be pretty, but you might not take much damage at all

Oh man, the smart cleaner of all things. I cleared it first try and had more trouble with getting to him instead because I insisted on getting all the logs and parts in one go.

Try mantis legs, some Bazokas in the hands (or similar better big guns with long reload), mortar on back right, bunker buster on the back left. Strat is to go right above the stack and unload both hands and the mortar >> if you aim properly (do not select the boss, just let the free aim take over and just push the aim down and keep the angle 70-80 degrees when you place the shots). The boss will get the stun and you just have to bust the box coming from the front with the mele. Do this 3-4 times without failing the mele and the boss is dead. Have fun :)

im shocked neither parties were using the basho arms, they have the highest melee specialization in the game and do pretty decent damage for having no weapons on them, also heads with high system recovery are preferable
