Engine removal on 2011 GMC Acadia Part 1
Переглядів 7 тис.Рік тому
In this video I show you how I removed the engine and transmission assembly from the front of the vehicle.
you should use a face mask you do not want to breath that dust
How to blow up your already sensitive CP4 pump. Your supposed to prime these pumps with VCDS after emptying the canister. If no VCDS then at least have the canister filled to the brim with diesel or Liqui Moly Diesel Purge.
The 2010 gran touring is the same ??
Good job nice video
Thanks a million you made it quite simple and easy great job
5:55 pm Thanks for the great video. will save me time and money.
I have a 2013 should be about the same process
Awesome work, fantastic. How long have you been a mechanic?
Where did you purchase it. Thanks Earl
Great video
What city are you in Sir I would love to pay for your service
I wouldn't hit the braking part of the rotor. Just whack it right on the face of the hub of the rotor. or maybe use an air hammer.
Great video!
Is it pretty much the same thing for the all wheel drive?
Very similar, just an axle going down the middle.
@@riveraautoworx-xv1os yeah I figured it out and got the job done. Just tough to fight around the axle but it is doable. Thanks for the help
Great video.
HOW TALL IS IT? THANKS
I hate the electric locking mech. Shakes violently when lifting from the locking position.. As it's required to lift slightly to disengage which jerks horribly. I'm trying to retrofit the new mechanical locking position.
The mechanical lock seems to be working pretty well. Overall very happy with this lift.
Do you have a video of the break down leading into part 1
I c they had alot problems with them engines.
would this be similar to a 2008 hyundai santa fe?
Buen video👍🏻
Excellent video. Thanks for posting. Really easy to take that motor down. I had dried leaves in there, and the noise was driving me nuts. You saved me some of my sanity. Thanks again. (BTW - I have a 2010 T&C)
Glad it helped!
Gracias amigo me funciono
This video gave me the confidence to order the part and get the job done! This is how I just did mine. I got the part on Amazon. They range from $35-60. I paid about $45 for the highest rated one that matches my vehicle. Came in a few days, I used my trim tool, a drill, the star bit, and a 90 degree adaptor for the drill to get at the back screw. 30 minutes and done. I have a warranty and they would cover it but it would take me the back and forth drive and time and scheduling. This took 30 minutes and $45 and now I’m done! It blows with no rattle. 2015/16 town and country s model.
Awesome job, glad it worked out for you!
This was super helpful, I’m hoping that my 2015/16 tc is the same. What was the part number and where did you get it?
Has anyone put a 3.5 or 3.9 non VVT DI engine in these? I know they’re under powered but I have two 3.5 impalas with 250k miles on each and a 08 Acadia with a blown 3.6
That's a big job bro. These 3.6L VVT's are no joke. Subbed.
What's the weight capacity? Where did you get it? How much did it cost?
It can lift up to 6600lbs. For my uses it lifts 90 percent of everything I work on. A couple years ago I bought it for 5k from stratusautoequip.com/categories/car-lifts/1-post-lifts.html
Do you know if the transmission and torque converter have to go in a specific way? I took mine out to replace the motor and put all mine back together and now my transmission wont go in gear...any help would be appreciated.. thank you
Guessing maybe the torque converter wasn't installed all the way into the Bell housing. Usually I spin it and push in. Should slide onto the input shaft 2 times.
Was it delivered to your house/shop? How did you get it off the truck and into the building?
I had a tow truck pick it up and help me set it up.
How much would it cost to buy a new engine from gm
easier if you drop the sub frame ... i ve done it...
Yeah I've done both ways, either way is not pleasant.
What state are you in
I pulled just the engine and left the transmission in the car. I had an easier time of it because I just had to worry about getting the engine in place. Mine was an all wheel drive so the transfer case bolts needed to be loosened and split about an inch, other than that it was relatively easy to do.
Im in the same exact boat you are I'm doing a Buick enclave right now by myself, trying to put the engine back in.thanks for the video.
Just did this job on a terrain lots of fun
I want to see the video of the swapping skins
Heck of an effort. Thanks for sharing.
Is it faster taking down subframe?
Honestly, both ways aren't great. I didn't want to have to align the vehicle afterwards, so I gave this method a try and it works.
I think it’s faster and much easier. I can have the whole drivetrain on the floor in 2 hours. Less work too imo
Do you know if a 2012 3.6 fit a 2010?
Yes this was a 2012 engine. Into a 2010. You will have to swap the intake manifolds.
