Halls of Haides and the Den of Cerberus
The Crystal Caves of Abaco have a unique development where 3 distinct layers of cave genesis have occurred due to sea level rise and fall created by glacial and interglacial periods. These caves have miles of passages at depths of 75 feet (24m), miles at 110 feet (33m) and miles at 160 feet (48m). 'The Halls of Haides are extremely large passages that meander below the forests of South Abaco Island in the deeper sections of system.

Freds Room Bathtub Ring 9 14 20
Переглядів 3914 роки тому
This video was shot with researchers in mind. The question posed was, "what are those bathtub rings we find in some caves in Mexico and the Bahamas". Since we happen to have some pretty awesome ones in Dan's Cave, I shot this video with that question in mind so the experts might better see what we have here on Abaco Island. Of course, this needs to be scientifically investigated with collection...

This video was shot with the idea of showing researchers some of the biofilms, Saharan dust, and microbial encrustations that exist on the crystal formations of the cave. Five and a half minutes of pure crystal zen in the Fangorn Forest passages of Dan's Cave on Abaco Island in the Bahamas. edd is the guy you call to save the guy ,who you called to save the guy.
Looks stunning, the level of ability/competance is sky high, not to mentioned BIG BALLS required - amazing footage, thank you.
So amazing! Wow!
In the minute 2:38 how this people are doing this? Risking their life like that. After the problem they are calling for help. On that moment when you guys are stuck, please be strong and die without calling help. On this kind of rescues other people are risking their life. The same happen with caves digging those idiot are going in small holes..The authorities needs to charge to them the cost of the rescue. $$$$$
This is way more scary than in stories of caving diving....
Screw that….
To Scary For Me
this is insane footage.
Ok that first clip is the coolest cave footage I've ever seen
Thanks for posting the video Brian. Simply Amazing.
How on Earth do these videos have so few views? That gem cove is one of the coolest things ever. What you guys do is incredible and my burgeoning interest in diving is starting to outweigh my fear of water. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome video. I am a wreck diver but not tech certified so my dives have to be in recreational limits.
Surreal- beautiful video. Are there more leads to map? Thank you for posting.
Wow. Thank you. Maybe the algorithm figured out I needed something beautiful and relaxing.
Absolutely breathtaking. Thanks for sharing.
Good stuff Brian, thank you for the upload of these beauties! I have family in the Bahamas. Hopefully one day I'll have the time, skill and money to meet you out there!
support from Balochistan
Always pumped to see a video of these caves and especially from Brian
What is the procedure when laying new line? Do dou just leave it if the cave keeps going or do you go back in and replace it with a more permanent line at a later point?
Hi Tehinke, it really depends on the system. In more popular caves, the line might be replaced later with "gold line" which would be considered the main passage in most popular caves. Offshoot passages usually remain with the smaller exploration lines like you see being laid here. The line being laid in this video will never be considered the main passage, so this line be "permanent line" even though it's not the main way on into the cave. Thanks for your comment and safe diving.
what kind of gear are you guys using ?
Both divers are using rebreathers made by a company called KISS. Edd is diving a model called Sidewinder, whereas I am diving a model called a SideKick These allow us to stay undrewater for longer periods of time and optimize the breathing gas for less decompression. We are both diving n DPV (Dive propulsion Vehicles that alllow us to cover more ground in a shorter period of time. Both divers are also using side mounted harnesses which allow us to mount our rebreathers and side mounted bailout cylinders on our sides. Mine is made by XDEEP, model Stealth 2.0 tec, and I think Edd is diving a Hollis Katana, but I don't know which version.
What is the bluulrry parts? Is that a salt/fresh water mix? Even at around 9:48 you can see it before anyone's been there, so it's not kicked up silt(?)
yes, the mixing zone between salt and fresh water. Called a halocline. Pretty awesome stuff.
BANANAS
That looks awsome.
That’s beautiful but crazy! Thanks for sharing!
I can’t believe this doesn’t have more views. We are watching premier cave divers explore virgin cave - such a privilege to see this without having to spend a lifetime building skills to do so. We are so spoiled.
Stunning 👏
Beautiful, ethereal and terrifying all at the same time. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us.
Just amazing...
Amazing. Thank you for all that you do.
Beautiful cave
This is one epic job
Thanks!
Absolutely incredible
my....... god.......
Thanks Brian 🤿
You're welcome!
Brian, thanks for the wonderful footage yet again. Hopefully these systems last under such great care for generations to come!
I hope so too!
I would be so worried about a cave collapse. I'll stick to open water Caribbean dives. Cool video.
Another beautiful, breathtaking video. Just spectacular, thank you for bringing us these beautiful videos 🙏
This is so cool. What a world.

Beautiful
This is sooooo beautiful. I saw this cave on divetalk when gus finally got to go down. It was breathtaking then, but seeing this........words like awesome, stunning, gorgeous, beautiful, even breathtaking, are insufficient for what this is.
Another great video thanks Brian we appreciate you and your crew putting out this magnificent beautiful art on video's thanks 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I have family in the Bahamas, one of these days I'll have to take a few weeks and get some real training out there.
subhaan ALLAH what mesmerizing beauty below the earth and people ask why do people dive into caves its just rocks, those people need to watch this footage
I’m beginning my tech diving journey, I’ve see your videos and talked to few people that had dove with you down there !! Hope one day to have the skill and earn that privilege as well!! Blessings
Well this is a rare treat. thank you.😊
Thanks again for sharing another awesome dive! I can't tell if this is fresh or salt water...or both!
So cool!
