David's Discoveries in Nature
United Kingdom
Приєднався 30 жов 2012
Davids discoveries in nature. Inclues swans, ducks, herons, and other wildlife. Wildcamping, too.
And not forgetting Bigfoot and the wild cats of the UK.
I'm mainly focusing on Brownes pond swans and other wildlife that reside there and around that area.
Wild camping in a hammock or in a tent out on the moors.
I'm not sure if the next camp will be in a hammock or in a tent, I haven't decided as yet.
I will try and keep you posted on what I decide to do at the camp.
Thank you for watching the videos.

up close swan.
Up close swan.
This was a visit to Backwell Lake near Bristol, about a week or so ago.
I have been surrounded by these beautiful swans many times, and I have to say that I have never experienced any hostility towards myself from the swans or the Canada geese.
Saying that, I have seen plenty of aggressive behaviour between the swans and the geese.

Swans and Canada Geese, Ducks, Coots and Gulls. #swans #canadageese #nature I understand now why I have seen so many Canada Geese with broken wings. It's not just attacks from the Swans. It's also attacks from Canada Geese on other Canada Geese, I witnessed it while filming these birds at Chew Valley Lake in Somerset. There were 2 or 3 that were being pulled around, subsequently having part of ...

Steamboat Swans chasing another swan. The female swan started the chase, and then, of course, the daddy of all swans took over as usual. This is one of my visits to Backwell Lake near Bristol. Feeding the swans. They surrounded me at one point. ❤
The main video is awesome 😊
@8BallPoolOnlinedm Thank you for that. It means a lot. Cheers 🍻
The cutest thing I've seen today!!!!
@@TheOddEarthShow Thanks for watching.
Are they this year's brood? Surely not. 😮
No, it was a little while ago. 😊
They are lovely looking goslings ❤
Yes, they were lovely goslings. 😊
Hahah same The gulls fighting hard to stay alive the winter
@@NatureWildlifeFrance There were loads of gulls there on that day 😳 😅
Such a peaceful and beautiful moment!❤😊
@@DreamscapeTunes-d5y They are lovely birds. 😊
Oh shame! No more food! I called you the "Swan Whisperer" yesterday. I think that's what I'm going to call you from now on.
@@TheOddEarthShow Thanks very much. I haven't had a nickname in a while. 👍
They are really beautiful. I have always been scared of them since small 😅. Great video 👏
As long as you have food with you, they will surround you. They won't hurt you. Just try not to show fear. It's like dogs. They can pick up on people's fears.
Zoom 😂😂
@@NatureWildlifeFrance I didn't need to zoom in they zoomed in on me! 🤣
@Davidsdiscoveriesinnature yes hahah 😂
They are so tame!
@@TheOddEarthShow That's what happens when they are fed throughout the year and especially in winter. They become accustomed to people. 🙏
I like it the way the swan moves the other 2 swans to get closer to you ❤ 😂
I'm glad to see you're paying attention to details 😂
Talk about being in your face! 😅😂❤
Yes, some of them get really up close and personal 😂
Persistent little fellows, aren’t they? Here, we have the Hartlaub's gull with its beautiful red feet, and I love feeding them whenever I’m at the beach. I understand swans are of a more 'royal' lineage, so to speak, but let’s not be too hard on the poor gulls. They’re just doing their best to grab a snack!
@TheOddEarthShow yes, I agree with you. Although when your focus is feeding the swans and geese. And there are dozens more gulls. It tends to spoil the point of what you were trying to achieve in the first place. 🙏
@@Davidsdiscoveriesinnature 😂Yes, I can see that's tricky.
There were far too many gulls. The swans and geese had no chance of getting much food. 😢
That is a lot of gulls there, for sure! Spoils it as the whole point was to feed the swans and Canada geese 😢
No food left after feeding the greedy gulls. That didn't stop the swans from trying to get more food. 😂
Lovely to see them up close ❤
Such a serene moment! 🦢
@@DreamscapeTunes-d5y Thank you for watching and commenting 🙏
Watching the swans feed is so calming. 💙 New sub here!! Let connect and grow together😊❤

Such a pretty stream.
@TheOddEarth-Show Yes, it is a lovely place to visit, and the stream is beautiful 😍

Hello cut duck and thanks for watching new friends🙏
@DARAStreetFoodCambodia Thank you for watching and commenting 🙏
Wow it is so beautiful!
Yes, it really is a beautiful place 😍
I love ducks, they are super cute!!!
Yes, they are, although I myself prefer mute swans. My local pond doesn't have any aquatic birds of any kind at the moment, not even a seagull.
Sweethearts💓
They are beautiful birds 😍
@@Davidsdiscoveriesinnature I agree. They are angelic creations😇💕
After I read @QuizmasterGaryTheGorilla's comment, I'm now too scared to get that close. I was chased by geese when I was about five years old. It scared me for life!
They are lovely birds, and geese are, in my opinion, more aggressive than the swans. They are lovely swans.
@@Davidsdiscoveriesinnature I believe you, David, but I will be very nervous to get too close.
Fall over and you're history... 😮
Na, I would have been fine. They would just attack the bag with the food in. 🤣
😂😂😂
hey awsome video and congratulations on ur past 100 subs :)!!!
Thank you very much for your support @Adventuredon, and yes, the channel is growing slowly but surely 👍 😊
They absolutely adore you! They are so friendly. I'm never that lucky. What is the best food to feed them, David?
@TheOddEarth-Show most people feed them bread. They will eat the bread with no nutrition value. It upsets me when I see bread being fed to them. I purchase a wildlife swan and duck food from one of my local pet shops. They love it. ❤️
@@Davidsdiscoveriesinnature I knew about the bread at least!
@TheOddEarth-Show We have signs up at different places that say not to feed the birds bread. That's why I purchase the proper wild birds food. They love it. 😍
It still amazes me how many birds there are! And they all seem so tame.
@@TheOddEarthShow Well, these weren't the friendliest birds I've come across tbh. The friendliest birds were definitely at Backwell Lake near Bristol that I filmed a few days ago 😀
So adorable Swans. Great close up. Beautiful video and presentation David. Thank you for sharing. Have a happy week!
@@NATURELOVERFOREVER Thank you for your support 🙏
If that swan spent as much time feeding as he does pecking others he'd be a right f*t f***a. I love seagulls, even though they wake me very morning at silly o clock. Live by sea not in a rubbish dump, honest. 🦍
They really are lovely looking goslings. Shame some of them grow up to be aggressive towards other Canada Geese ❤
Yes, the ones at Chew Valley Lake are especially aggressive towards other Canada geese. 🇨🇦
Big Bird-Party❤🦢
Yes, there were a lot of swans there. I have visited my local pond where I filmed most of the swans in previous videos. Unfortunately, there are no birds there at the moment, not even a gull. So, I have had to go a little bit further afield to find swans at a different location. This time, it's a place called Backwell Lake near Bristol in the UK. Thanks for watching and the comment. Much appreciated 🙏
@Davidsdiscoveriesinnature I love that. These animals have a wonderful charisma. Greetings from me and my swans from Lake Constance, southern Germany.
@SchwanKanal good to hear from you. And it's also nice to know where you are watching from. How is the weather in Germany at the moment? It's 6 degrees here, so, not so bad at the moment.
@@Davidsdiscoveriesinnature Between -2 to +3 degrees at the moment. No snow. For that I would have to go over to Switzerland.
You can't help but laugh at the effort they are both putting into it. 😂 😅
This is very true 👍
Your latest video shows how swans aren't afraid of you being there, just as long as you're feeding them. 😅 ❤
So true! They loved the food 😊
Whatever you are feeding them. They seem to love it. 👍🏻
Well, that's a trade secret 😳 😅
No, seriously, it's swan and duck feed. I used to get it from Wilco until they shut down. I got this bag from Jolley's pet shop. I expect pets at home do something similar. 😊
@Davidsdiscoveriesinnature, how much is it in Jolley's? They definitely can't get enough of it. ❤ 😂
Beautiful looking forest, all the ferns and healthy looking trees ❤
Yes, it's a wonderful forest here in the west country.
Oh no, I was wrong again, there's two chestnut horse's 😊
Beautiful horses 😊
Beautiful looking horses. One dark, one white/grey and one chestnut 🌰 and loads of sheep, flys everywhere I guess 😊
2 chestnuts 🌰
Looks like a little baby Robin. 🐤
Yes, it was a baby robin 🙏
Beautiful big birds these swans 😊
@8BallPoolOnlinedm Thanks again for watching 👀 🙏
I'm forever blowing bubbles 🫧
They were still blowing bubbles after I stopped filming them 🤣
Must have been raining hard in the hills for it to be flowing like that.
It was flowing well 😊
Impressive wingspan these swans have. I wouldn't want to be attacked by one of them for sure 😂
Definitely large wingspan
Yes, I was wrong. There was a bit of aggression between the Canada Geese 😮
Yes, there was a fair bit of fighting between them all.
