Thanks for your comment. We are better prepared than most. In our 30+ years living here, we have seen a few of these storms for sure.
these are what we have in the uk, not bad machines, good video.
Thank you for your comment! They have become more popular in US households as well.
@@mickeyj4228 yeah they are good machines, in the uk this machine is branded as Hotpoint
Good info to know, thanks. We are looking at a rig with a 2007 5.9l ISB, purportedly able to do 300HP, and will have a good look at all the mechanicals before embarking on the road. What HP are you squeezing out of your engine and do you find that sufficient? Do you normally have a TOAD on with that?We hope to have a small sedan on a dolly to tow. Also, you mentioned scangauge; is that on normally displaying engine data while you are driving?
The ISC is a 8.3 big block, 350 hp and 1050 lbs torque. I tow a 2018 RAM 2500 that weighs 8300 lbs and a Dodge Dakota that weighs about 5000. They both tow the same.
I installed mine like this yesterday afternoon. Just waiting on my throttle cable.
It's a great engine!
You know if you use tire paste when mounting the tire & apply it --> To the tire bead on both sides, on the backside of the lip of the tire, on the rim bead, and use the black bar that came with your HF tire changer, just use a wood clamp to hold the tire from spinning, and you can install your tire with ease in 1 minute. There IMO is no need for a duck bill mod. Unless, the duck bill mod prevents contact with the rim? Meaning no chance of scratching. Can you confirm the duck bill mod doesn't make contact with the rim ?
@kendalgee5808 Thanks for the comment. The duckbill does make contact with the rim. It is nylon and I've noticed no scratches from it.
@@mickeyj4228 Then there was no need for it. The only advantage ic is it is made out of Nylon, so perhaps that will prevent scratches. So maybe its be worth it. Eventually I will make a youtube video titled " Do you need a duckbill adapter " and show I can install a tire in 1 minute using the HF manual tire changer, tire bead paste, a Dewalt wood clamp, and the HF bar that came with the tire changer.
The duckbill at $20 was worth it for me. For years, I've driven on the tire or used a bumper jack to break the bead and discounted and mounted them with tire irons. Do I need the duckbill? No, but it works great for me.
Thankyou for your sharing information
Thank you for taking the time to comment!
Now try this on a tire beed that has not been broken because this machine does not do it 😂
Thanks for your comment. I used the machine to break the bead on the 17 inch tire in this video, the 33" tires on 20" wheels on my Ram 2500 and over 30 other tires. I did have to reenforce the bead breaker. The secret is using soapy water on the bead. Do you own one of these tire changers?
No products are 100% all products will break down over time i am thinking of buying a advantage 9000hd lift main reason is no need to bolt to floor and i can move unit with caster without vehicle on lift and its god looking color , only one thing i don't like but would get use too is how slow it lifts and lowers i feel the price point fair market and i love that you can add accessories i wouldn't use the manual hand pump too slow i buy the air one , i feel the 4 post much safer over 2 post i saw 2 guy get killed on UA-cam when a rolls royce phantom fell on them , im sure there are some 4 post horror stories too it begins with common sense
Thank you for your comment! FYI, there is an Advantage Lifts owners support group on Facebook. Not many complaints to be found there. Are you buying the 9000HD due to its compact size? I have the 240V motor on my SS-11000-WD which may be faster that the 115V. I agree that the air bridge jack is the only way to go. It lifts my RAM 2500 Cummins diesel with ease. I agree that the price point is fair. I stepped up to the SS-11000-WD because I had the space and since this is an item I will only buy once, the cost difference was within my budget.
wow $119 for a gas spring and $10 of sheet steel. Did I see that right? JUST for the stand? I purchased the HF portable band saw (which has an electric motor ) for that much a few years ago.
$89.00 on sale with the coupon, but you're mot wrong. Inflation is real.
Did you not want to use the 5 year warranty it has?
@SEEMORE45 I installed it myself. The warranty is only valid if installed by a certified HVAC tech that will put ther name and license number on the warranty paperwork. HVAC Installers charge more than these units cost on Amazon.
So I watched the video to hear a description of how the tire changer worked. Seems like a video would be the perfect place to show how everything worked.
@Madmaxd it's really pretty simple. If you need to watch start to finish check out the video of mounting my son's low profile 17 inch tires. I made that video because of comments like this one. Hope it helps.
What an idiot 😂
Hey do u know how many amps that 240v motor requires?

Thank you for your comment! I'm glad this video helped. Take note or better yet take a picture of how the belt is routed on the tensioner.
What does the front axle weigh on your truck? I have '22 3500 SRW and front axle weight is 5380# and rear is 3680# with me in the truck and full fuel. I am looking for options to lift the truck with a tray jack.
Thanks for your comment! I'm not sure of my front axle weight. My truck empty going over the scales at the local dump is 8340# with me and 3/4 tank of fuel. Both the air bridge jack and the jack tray are rated at 4500#. I believe this is conservative for legal reasons. In my opinion the jack tray would easily support your truck. You could lift your truck using the jack using an air bag jack or bottle jack and support the truck with jack stands. I also believe the air bridge jack, with a high-volume air compressor would lift it as well. At the request of a viewer, I made a 5-minute video posted on my channel titled "Will the Advantage Lifts Rolling Air bridge Jack lift a 2500 RAM with the Cummins Diesel?" in which I show the jack lifting my truck and discuss my air setup.
Playback speed 1.75 is your friend.

Hi! If you were to push on one of the post, is there very much side to side play with a vehicle on it? Or is it very stiff as they claim?
@stratoslice Thanks for your comment! There is no movement. I've needed to use a ladder to climb into my 2500 RAM while it was lifted. Zero movement.
@@mickeyj4228 thank you!
You're most welcome.
sorry one question, ok maybe two. I've got a 8.3 1999 Cummins diesel in my Rexall. i got the filter Donaldson P553000. I'm assuming your filter LF9009 is the same? thanks for the word on putting the gallon in first, ill do that. my second question is i see your using a synthetic blend. Can i use that in my year of engine? i found a few bottles in the basement of the rv that was Delo chevron 400 SDE ISOSYN Advanced 15 40 but i looks like regular heavy duty oil.
Thank you for your comment! Rexall made a great motorhome! Yes, the Fleetguard LF9009 is a direct replacement for the Donaldson P553000. Yes, synthetic blends such as Delo 400, Mobile Delvac 1300, Shell Rotella T5, or any oil with the API classification of CK-4 meets the Cummins requirement. All 3 are great oils. Feel free to reach out if I can assist with anything else.
@@mickeyj4228 thank you so much, I own a park model no engine haha and a Fleetwood gas engine so this is my first time owning a diesel. Infact is so my first time. I put 275$ worth of diesel and then the next week I topped it off earth 50 gallons of gas 🤦♀️😫. 835 tow bill right from the pump. Anyway thank you for you’re video I’m saving that $600 from camping world right the road and trying to do this myself. Just figured out the mode shifter thing and diagnosing the fuel levels. 7 quarts low in the Allison transmission 🤦♀️it said . Just bought this rig so finding out a few things. Haha
So, you learned how to check the transmission fluid level using the shift up and down arrows? That's great, just make sure the transmission is at operating temperature when checking. You'll never want to go back to a gas motorhome. Fixing the power steering hose has probably been my biggest job in 15 years of ownership.
@@mickeyj4228ok hi my friend. So I dropped another gallon of ATF in it got it up to temperature and then did the calculations- the shifter maybe out of calibration idk but it still said 4 quarts low. Like it said first. Anyway dipstick don’t lie, check it running way below the add hot mark - checked it not running but 170+ degrees and it read add hot ? I’m I doing this right? So I’ve added 7 total quarts so far. Still says add hot 🤦♀️ looks like this Allison was bone dry!
It must have been very low. Go by the dipstick with the transmission at operating temp I just double checked a post I made when I changed the 2 transmission filters and upgraded to the Allison Transynd Fluid. I actually called Allison with my serial number to verify the filter kit part # and asked about capacity. The tech told me refill "by the book" is 17 qts. Some will be full at 16 and some may take 18gts. I put in 4 gallons, drove it until transmission was at operating temperature. Checked it and added one quart and it was full on the dipstick. On my next trip when stopped at a rest area I checked it with the control panel, and it was "OK"
Try using some tire lube my friend. It'll make the tires alot easier to get off and on
NVM I guess you did... Sorry bout that

The fill is still H2O. I just did a lawnmower carb. Put carb in a wide mouth jar with gasoline. I came out perfect.
What kind of plug does the motor come with? I have nema 6-50r outlets in my shop that I use for my welders and plasma cutters. Just wondering if it can plug into that.
Thanks for your comment. The 240V motor has a 6 foot or so 3 wire with no plug. I added the standard 6-50P welder plug. Have you ordered your lift yet?
@@mickeyj4228 I'm still saving up for it. I have the money to purchase the dx 9000 xlt, but after watching your videos, I've decided to spend the extra few hundred dollars for the 11000-wd. Since this will be a once in a lifetime purchase.
@wnicorn6702 that was my thought.
@@mickeyj4228 is the receptacle connected to a 50 amp breaker? That's what my 6-50r is hooked up to. I'm not an electrician and don't want to burn down my shop lol.
@wnicorn6702 you'll be fine. The motor is only energized when you push the lift button. There is no chance of" burning down your shop", provided your outlet is wired correctly.
Do you think your Cummins would fit on the 9000 pound XLT? I have a Megacab that weighs 7800 empty and debating between the two lifts. According to the specs, your lift is only 4" longer but 10" wider.
@stevenewsam6698 I think the 9000XLT would be fine. The 9000XLT gives the option of moving one runway to outer holes to make it wider. I bought the SS-11000-WD just in case I needed to lift a dually, and the cost was just slightly more.
@@mickeyj4228 Thanks for the reply. A big difference, I think is the 115 volt motor on the 9000xlt vs the 230 volt motor on the ss11000. I’m looking at the BendPak vs the Advantage. BendPak offers 115 or 230 on their 9000 pound lift but Advantage does not from what I see. A 115 volt motor lifting the Cummins is a concern.
The 115 V motor will have no issues lifting the 2500 RAM with the Cummins. The 240V motor appears to be slightly faster in lifting. These lifts are "over built". My OCD was torn between the 9000XLT and the ss-11000-wd and decided on the 11K to "future proof" since this was a onetime purchase for me. I would have no concerns with the 9000XLT with the 115V motor.
@@mickeyj4228 Thanks. What did Advantage recommend for a breaker for your lift? I have a 40 amp welder receptacle in my shop.
The 240V motor recommends a 20 amp. It comes with a 6 ft or so wire with no plug. I installed the standard 3 prong male welder plug. It will be fine on your standard 240Vwelder receptacle. I actually use my lift with a welder plug to a RV 50 amp plug adapter. Have you decided on the ss-11000-wd?
I have one and love the handle idea. Do you have issues with it leaking from the bottom? Mine leaks from around the bottom of the hose.
@jrfan592 Thank you for your comment. I've never had any issues with it leaking. Is your leaking from the fitting?
@@mickeyj4228I think it’s leaking from where the hose connects to the fitting at the bottom, if not there then possibly the drain on the bottom. I need a new hose for it either way.
@jrfan592 maybe try adding a second clamp.
@@mickeyj4228 it had two fitting on it but I figured out the problem, it was the drain plug on the bottom. It was cockeyed af hahaha. I’m gonna make a video showing it in a bit.

can you orient the air jack handle to it doesnt get oily and nasty? I know my stuff on a lift is gross!
@SolarArrdvark13 thanks for your comment. It comes with 4 plastic drip trays. The jack is a rolling bridge jack so you could slide it back between the rear end and the transmission. The bridge jack tray also has a drain bolt. I hope I answered your question?

The bubble balancer actually does just as good as the expensive machines.
They were used for decades before circuit boards were invented. I believe tire manufacturing has also come a long way. Thank you for your comment. Have a blessed day.
@@mickeyj4228 I owned a tire shop for 4 years, anytime the expensive balancer had faults and wouldn't operate, id pull out the trusty bubble balancer. It never had any electrical faults and it could easily balance drag radials when the electric balance would throw faults.
Do you know the drivethru width of this lift? The Advantage rep I spoke with didn't know that measurement. This would be between the polly covers on both sides, tire sidewall to tire sidewall.
I just walked out and measured, from the bottom of the pully cover side to side is 101 inches. Outside runway to outside runway is 85 inches. I drive my RAM 2500 on without folding the mirrors in. I you have any other questions or would like to have a call just let me know.
I appreciate it, my dually is a little wider than stock 103 inches side wall to side wall. Having a hard time finding a lift to accommodate, without going commercial
I've had a Ram dually on my lift, but it had stock tires and no wheel spacers. I just took the measurement from outside of cable to outside of the other cable and it is 110.5 inches. This is the measurement taken for my friends 2011 RAM dually as he measured from outside bed fender to outside bed fender which was only 96.5 inches. His tires did not stick out past the fenders. What truck do you have?
Ford f350
Are you confident in your measurements? Im curious as to what makes your F350 so much wider than stock? Think goigle says is 94 inches? My diesel pusher motorhome is the maximum DOT limit of 102 inches.
Put your leverage bar inside the end of the square tube.
Thanks for your comment. I've tried it that way and I prefer the leverage to be lower closer to the duckhead. Maybe I built the center pipe too tall?
It's not made to be used that way. It'll causethearm the duck head is on to flex
It's not made to be used that way. The arm that the duck head is mounted to isn't solid enough to not flex and put it at an angle
I have the same lift; just put it up. I am wondering if you park the motorhome on it when its in the down position
Thanks for your comment. I spin the lift around sideways towards the back of the RV port. The rear overhang of the motorhome is over the runways, not on them. I have a short video that shows this.
A lot of people were talking about this on the FaceBook HF hack page, but I couldn't really picture it until I saw it in action. Now I have to have one!!! Thanks!
Thank you for the comment. I'm done giving my money to tire shops. Prices have got outrageous.
Very cool, I've been having trouble doing them by hand, I am getting too old, can't kneel and bend over like I used to. I'll probably make something like this.
Thank you for your comment! The vertical tube is 2" electrical conduit with a 2 " receiver welded to it that slides through a piece of hitch tubing. The red duck head is bolted to 1/8 " steel plate that is weld to an old piece of floor jack handle. it slides into a short piece of roll bar tubing that's welded to the hitch tubing. I also replaced the bead breaker tube with the same roll bar tubing.

Sounds like the latches aren’t engaging together
Thank you for your comment. I believe I adjusted the locks sometime after this video and one lock may have been 1/4 inch off. Just went and listened to the video again, they are very close. I didn't hear a "click, clack". Definitely not far enough out to be a safety issue. I make it a habit to go well past the lock hole before lowering onto the locks. Paying close attention to how the lift settles onto the locks is also a sign you may need to adjust them.
That's quite a job that you completed. Nice work.
Thank you for your comment. The most time-consuming part was deciding on how to do it. Drilling the hole near the black tank was also a long measure twice and think about it moment :)

did you drill extra holes for the 8 lug ford wheels ? im thinking about doing my f250 tires on mine along with the duckbill attachment
Thanks for your comment. No need to drill any holes. I just dropped the pin in the existing hole and tightened it down. I did use a centering cone. They are RAM 20 inch 8 lugs wheels.
Was the pallet bolt down setup not working out? i see you now have it floor bolted now i was hoping to try the pallet method not wanting to drill into the floor. Thanks for the tips on the tube mod.
Thanks for your comment! I did a couple sets of trailer tires with it mounted to the pallet. It worked OK. Before I did the 33" truck tires om my RAM I bolted it to the concrete using 2" drop in anchors. This is much better, and quicker not having the pallet moving around.
I'm used to undercoating cars. On them, you never want to use anything that dries because it eventually dries, cracks and ends up trapping more moisture than it prevents, and rots the metal even quicker. Do you not worry about the trapped rust that under the POR15? I bought a ZT! last Fall and before I used it I coated the underside of the deck with a full can Amsoil MPHD and let it dry well before I used it.
Thanks for your comment. I've used POR 15 for years. "POR-15 works because it chemically bonds to rusted metal and forms a rock- hard, non-porous coating that won't crack, chip, or peel. It keeps moisture away from metal with a coating that is strengthened by continued exposure to moisture". They have much more detail on their website. por15.com/pages/faqs
