This original of ours has been a favorite for a while now - and it was overdue for a re-post with the new members. A small technical difficulty near the end has Doug thinking he should stop tinkering with the wiring on his guitars… but the overall performance survived his foolishness. This cover has been in the set a good long while, and it has gone through some changes in that time. I was certain we had posted it multiple times since we play it so often, but it turns out we only did it once - in the strange days of distanced acoustic jams on the porch while wearing masks. Lucinda is a favorite of ours, and she should be a favorite of yours as well. We did this song ages ago when the band first started, but put it away for several years - Joanna joining the band inspired us to take another swing at it (and we’re glad we did). What can we say? We're suckers for the pop-Americana of the Jayhawks (and Gary Louris' solo work ain't nothing to sneeze at either).
