This is a gorgeous setting! I was absolutely transported! It reminded me of some of the Gerald Finzi settings of Thomas Hardy's poetry. Thank you to everyone involved for bringing this gift to us all.

I don't like these dried out "historically informed" renditions that don't even respect the original tonality. They sound harsh, like drinking up disinfectant. The gut string instruments and no vibrato are always out of tune

This is one of my favourite pieces ever. Hence I'm very critical with interpretations of it. The technique of everyone here is superb but I personally think that the rather soft boys choir works a lot better for the overall mood of the song. Thank you nonetheless.
