the tutorial, i love it! but when i put it to 2x speed it sounds like a normal video rather than a fast tutorial
I’ll have to check that out. Hope the video helped you!
I tried using various different colors of felt tip pen to shade and color wise not using codes? I posted it I believe as it's my first time?

Adorable
Thank you very much 💛🤍❄️ I really enjoyed ❤😊
Your welcome! Thank you for watching, and your kind comment!
This was a very helpful tutorial, thank you for sharing your skills and talent. I’m a beginner and just purchased some acrylic paints which have a beautiful colour range, but some are semi transparent. Can you please explain the best way to overcome that transparency? Is it this technique of underpainting or is there something else you can suggest? New sub from Australia looking forward to learning more from you 🐨🇦🇺💙🎨😊
Hello! Usually yellow is the worst for the semi transparency. A thinker bodied paint works better. I will sometime mix white with the color if I can, even a gesso. An UNDERPAINTING will definitely help, although it will look a bit different than you may expect. I really like it though. I dont use anything too expensive. Some I like are Liquitex and Golden. Thank you for your support. I'm going to Spain soon, I hope to bring back some great artistic inspiration from my trip!💙
*a THICKER body paint
@@sharingArtWmyCat thank you for your reply, I’ll keep trying. I didn’t realise the transparency was such an issue. I will practice with the underpainting and the adding white.. it’s a learning curve. Have a wonderful time in Spain! Wow that’s feast of culture for artistic inspiration🤩😍
Realistic watermelon.❤❤❤thanks for sharing.can you tell me why u use different color 1st???
Hey hey Foxy, miss Foxy Brown

I always wanted to draw a realistic and beautiful Daisy but they were all too hard your video helped a lot and made my dream come true thanks❤
Omg! That's so great to hear! There are a few others you might like on my channel also- the Rose and Poinsettia drawings are nice . Thank you for the kind words!💙
@@sharingArtWmyCat thank you I’ll watch those too
Cher, this is incredible as all your work is. So talented. ❤️
Thank you💙
I use watercolor so I will try to do yours as a guide.
I used this video to help with color theory and had my students do it with pastels. They did great!
Very beautiful
Where did you get the pattern examples page?
I copied a few different ones from google pics and pasted them together on a doc for my students
Thanks for listing the colors you’re using!
You're welcome! I learned that was something people wanted from another one of my painting videos. I appreciate the comments! It really helps💙
@@sharingArtWmyCat it really frustrates me when I look at other peoples tutorials and they do not provide the colors. I suggested they allow me to give them a demonstration on how to bake a cake, but I won’t tell them the ingredients and I’ll work quickly. I told them their cake would be a flop for sure.!!! I really enjoy learning to paint and it’s illustrations and tutorials like yours that have been very helpful. Thank you.
That's a great analogy. Thank you for the feedback. I am so happy to hear that this is helpful- it's motivation for me!
Beautiful. Loads of talent.
Very nice Cher. Again you make it look easy. Tell Vinny congratulations on his retirement.
Thank you Mark, I will tell him😄👍🏽
Well, i guess i have to learn how to draw first because my apple looks like a malformed bucket
Haha! I bet it has a unique style to it, that's all! Would you like to see a drawing video on something? An apple would be a quick one??? Please let me know💙
You make it look so easy. Great video
Thank you Mark!💙
Thank you for showing this! What colors did you use for the under painting? Do you ever deviate from what you use depending on the color you’re going for?
Hi! I tend to use the sienna and umbers (burnt and raw sienna, and burnt umber) when I underpaint. Although you can use a monochromatic color palete such as muted blues for the underpainting also. I like the more neutral colors personally because they ususally doesnt get in the way of any of the true colors you will use on the top. Hope this helps! Thank you for your inquiry!
This is a very instructive tutorial. She makes a beautiful apple and helps us understand how to do our own. However, as a beginner I do need to know what the colors are. Im not good enough to blunder along and guess. I mix up tones and shades. I can copy your brush strokes and improve my technique, but color choices are very hard for beginners.
When I made this video many stores were closed and I was thinking practically that people would use the paints they had (although anyone could order paints). I regret not listing the paint colors I used now, and have learned my lesson from valuable comments such as this. As a result, I do list all the colors used on any painting video I made after this one. My goal is to go back in on the description and list what I remember using there for this tutorial. Thank you for your comment, it is greatly appreciated!💙
Very nice .....Which clay do you used for this??
I use 10- G for all of my current ceramic projects. It fires at cone 06

Thank you soooo much. I absolutely loved this tutorial! I used a blender on the shadows as well as lines and it turned out so pretty.
Thank you for letting me know, you made my day! I'm so happy to hear of your success with this video!💙
Could elementary kids do this
I had a group of elementary teachers at a presentation I made of this lesson and they were discussing ways of doing this with them. The part you would have to figure out is how to create the chart with them. You might construct some kind of tracer, or I was thinking cut small rectangles for them, maybe 3"x4" each. You could start by giving them each a rectangle and discuss the particular element (let's say "line") and they all write "line" in that block- and then so forth. The personality traits could be one at a time also. It depends what age group you are thinking of, but with some guidance, yes, I think this would be a great lesson. Then you could have them glue the rectangles on a paper forming a simple chart. Just a suggestion!💙 Hope this helps!
Nah man the first one is hotdog 🌭
You make it look so easy. Great job
Thank you Mark!💙
I can’t wait to try this out with students! I think they will love it.
I'm so happy to hear that! I think they will too!💙
I had an idea of drawing falling snowflakes in perspective/foreshortening way with the snowflakes drawn a little turned on the side like 3D snowflakes so i came here for some references
Thank you for checking it out! I think that would be an interesting drawing. I hope watching helped in some way!💙
@@sharingArtWmyCat yes i'm planning to use this snowflake as a reference inshaAllah

Very nice!! Being the out of touch person I normally am, I didn’t realize you are a visual artist. I surely know you can sing - but this, too! Thanks for letting me know about your channel. I’m following and will be using what I learn.
Awesome! Thanks for the kind words. I wish you the best!
sixth 😌💖
Horizontal :). Also, what pen / ink did you use for the outline of the jellyfish? and did you need to does that ink create a barrier so that the paint does not cross the lines?
Hi Kathleen! I used a fine point sharpie. It does not create a barrier, so you do have to be patient to let the paint dry. - one for horizontal!😁 thanks! Haha!
@@sharingArtWmyCat Thank you! Your lessons are very helpful and much appreciated!
Hi :) Thank you, very helpful! Just 1 tip, please could you speak a bit clearer or get a better mic? My girlfriend is hard of hearing and was struggling to follow as the volume wouldn't go up enough and the subs were inaccurate :( Other than that, very helpful and a lovely apple :)
Yes! I apologize for the the fluctuating volume levels on this video. I very much appreciate the constructive criticism on my videos and content. It helps me improve. I actually have been working on volume levels on my last 20 videos (or so), which I believe have gotten better. I am going to link a few you may be interested in.
