I was on a MARAD Ready Reserve ship Cape Inscription at the then still active Long Beach Navy Shipyard in 1995. I remember when a friend of mine came in and said, “They shot the Mexican Madonna” That was on March 31, 1995.

This was not superbowl xxx This was a concert in Houston Texas at the astrodome. Selena was the best Latina singer in our lifetime.

I love Selena - but she didn't perform at the 1996 Super Bowl - or any other Super Bowl. She died in 1995. Diana Ross performed there in 1996.

But the greatest SB half time show, IMHO, was in 2009, when Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band, put on one for the ages. Just search it on YT. But I digress, this is Selena's video. She'll always be 23 and perfect.

Enjoyed the movie very much. The actors did an admirable job. Her songs in the movie were so good! The ending is incredibly sad. Being a caucasian i would have liked to hear more songs in English at this concert and see her guitar player husband more. Her legacy lives on!
