So do you set the rear head to set of 2 dots with cylinder 1 top dead center and then turn the cam 180 ° so the single dots line up and not worry with cylinder 1 being top dead center at the same time?

You don't need two people if you have patience. Unfortunately after jacking up my car and removing the old belt I realized the new belt they gave me did not match.. :(

I think I got it. Mine is a short ram shaped like a u. Mine comes with only one nipple to attach a hose what's the hose that you put on with clamp?

No need for two people, I use a bungee cord attached to the top of the belt and then to the hood this allows you to pull down and move the belt around and when you let go the slack is gone.

This is why I use a paint marker, all new lexus/Toyota repair manuals tell you to do this before disassembly now

Ok so what happens when the filter needs to be cleaned? Do you have to dig all the way down into the bumper again and clean it. Seems like a bad design.

i have same engine. just fixed and the damn exhaust camshaft pulley snapped off destroying the crankshaft oin tip part. fml w this car already. ill remember this vid when i put new camshaft in. pissed bc i just had the valve covers off lol

Align with the outside marks. The inside are only for installation and mating of the counter rotational cam gears. They are set separately.

Its because the dots are there to put the cams in sync ONLY, after putting them in sync you can turn the cam pulley 180* to place the timing belt on the proper marks and ignore the camshaft dots. PS... don't worry about bending any valves when you turn it, this is a non interference engine, the valves will never get hit.

Hey just though I ask I got to the point in 7:21 where there that Ouse you have to connect and I got the secret weapon short ram system for my 2000 celica gt and was wondering how I would put it or need it since mine air kit only has one nipple hose port to place the PVC hose to so what would I need this one for? Try cleaning the iac, if it helps some you know that's the problem and to replace it.

ok i have the same thing in my celica also but here is the problem that i run into every time it rains because the car is normally so low when you go over water that intake will suck in water and it will go in the engine. Had that happen to me 2-3 times just need to do a spark plug and a oil change and clean the spark plug treads might have some water there but other than that i am pretty satisfied with it
