Welcome to this skiing channel! I love skiing and was always surprised at the lack of video footage of ski runs online, so I am trying to put a tiny dent in the problem

STEEP Clips To Make You Satisfied
I got the skiing itch during the off season. Thought I'd remedy it with a bit of Steep.
Definitely worth waiting for the last clip!

Perisher: South Face
Переглядів 95Місяць тому
An ultra fun line skiers right of North Perisher T-Bar. I could lap this run all day long and not get bored. Those looking for airtime will definitely find it here! The top half of the run is littered with rocks and trees perfect for jumping and dropping, while the lower sections resemble a BMX track made by moguls and other skiers, also with a few jibs mixed in. #skiing #perisher 0:00 - Lap #1...
Perisher: North Face

A quiet hill that is as far North as North Perisher gets before reaching Devil's Playground and Blue Cow. Although it barely ever opens, when it does, it is amazing for advanced/experts. Is perfect for afternoon on a powder day. The day I skied it was a bit slushier. 0:00 - Lap #1 3:13 - Lap #2
Perisher: Outer Limits
Переглядів 630Місяць тому
One of the most underrated lines in Perisher. The top half is a wide open intermediate level bowl that makes for a great introduction to off-piste skiing. The lower half narrows into a tight tree-cut line that requires some solid technical skills. One of my personal favourites at Perisher. A guide for experts: the top has some fun drops and jumps here and there, while bottom is very playful and...
Perisher's Best Groomer? Excelerator
Переглядів 170Місяць тому
A classic Blue Cow groomer that meanders down below the Ridge Quad Chair. Great for early morning laps before the masses arrive! Excelerator and Roller Coaster are definitely my two candidates for best groomer at Perisher. Let me know in the comments if you think there should be any others up there too.
Lake Louise: C Gully
Переглядів 2206 місяців тому
Unfortunately during the time we were at Lake Louise, this was the trickiest Alphabet Gully that was open as the rest of them were littered with rocks! A steep but not too challenging line that would probably be a lot easier in a good season. Run #126
Sunshine Village: North Divide + Boundary Bowl
Переглядів 916 місяців тому
We had a day trip to Sunshine while at Lake Louise in early February which proved very disappointing. Nearly all of Goats Eye was closed except one traverse and the entire place had been covered in a thick sheet ice. Safe to say it was a park lap day. Found some decent turns off the top of Great Divide which are shown here! Run #31 and #32
Lake Louise: Whitehorn 1 Third Gate
Переглядів 2506 місяців тому
The second last gate into Whitehorn 1. Due to the slightly worse conditions during this season, we found ourselves carefully avoiding many rocks here and there. Also I'm sorry for the shitty singing - let's hope it's bad enough I don't get a copyright strike 😂 😂 Run #118
Lake Louise: Whitehorn 1 First Gate

A classic Lake Louise line and the best fall line Whitehorn 1 run, this is a must do if you come to Lake Louise for the first time. Super! Run #120
Lake Louise: Tower 12

This run is a must do if you are coming to Lake Louise on a powder day! A steep pitch with tons of fun ways to get down, some of the best tree skiing on the mountain. Run #151
Lake Louise: Peyto's Pitch
Переглядів 1436 місяців тому
A slightly diagonal chute that picks its way through the rocky ridge line off the top of Saddleback. Also featuring some stunning views of the surrounding mountains which look incredible! Run #106
Lake Louise: West Bowl Gully
Переглядів 6776 місяців тому
A long and sustained gully through the West Bowl that was pretty damn slushy when we skied it. Also a little shallow towards the bottom but a really fun line! Run #165
Lake Louise: Ptarmigan
Переглядів 1006 місяців тому
A nice fall line run that has the chairlift ptarmigan named after it. Great sized moguls and consistent pitch, theres absolutely nothing to complain about on this run! Run #76
Lake Louise: Couloir
Переглядів 1047 місяців тому
A steep and rocky line that forced me to sideslip a small section. I should have followed my friend! Run #105
Lake Louise: Alley

A rocky line down the lift line of Paradise, nicknamed alley. Run #79

Rubbish...
I'm british and i find it so funny lmfao 🤣🤣
love this run! enjoying your videos, you've hit all the good ones! Keep it up.
Me whenever I see someone with a Trump flag.
oh man, I did almost the self same thing as your mate...except I did most of the ski-out to the Saddle on my face. No idea how the ski gods let me miss the rocks. Love your honesty mate! I lived there a year and only saw that much fresh 1ce or 2ce.
Yea we did manage first tracks so was incredible snow. The cirque is not easy, glad to hear you are ok! The mandatory straight line at the top is really the crux, if you can master that then the rest of it is fine, but obviously me and my mate where no where near mastering it, took us a long time to find that lost ski haha
As a pro snowboarding kid i recommended for snowboarders that aren't very good to do the falling leaf.
Btw the girl in the blue swimsuit voices Stella from Helluva Boss
saw the 3 second clip in another video and its even funnier in its original context
I said this to my mother after she hit me, I got hit again but it was worth it
yah its way better when the snow conditions are good
After seeing the initial meme clip I pulled up this somewhat longer video hoping to find some context and it's just made me more confused.
Indeed...
Good grief! What was the base on that day? So many rocks showing!
I'm not sure but it definitely wasn't the best
Bro you skied it well. Ignore all of the haters in the comments. People on the internet love to hate when they probably haven’t even touched a single black yet
Good job with video. Having said that, I never got the point of skiing this kind of stuff. In my opinion it’s not really skiing, it’s somehow making one’s way down in one piece. I’ve been skiing for over 30 years and never had the desire to ski these type of runs. Maybe that fact doesn’t make me a good skier to some possibly, but I ski what I enjoy. I guess to each his own.
Yea, I wouldn't consider myself just 'getting down it', but having some great turns and fun, similar to how you might ski a blue run. There's something beautifully inexplicable about natural snow, especially powder. The first time you do something, it always feels challenging and like you are getting down it, even if it was your first green run. I think skiing definitely gets more fun if you are able to push yourself because it enables you to normalise what previously would have seemed impossible and that improvement is key in having a sense of pride but also being able to have incrementally more and more fun. With that being said, I agree with you that a groomer is not neccesarily a 'bad' thing just because you are better and sometimes those turns can be really enjoyable! You don't need to push yourself to have fun on skis but I feel that the better you get, the more incredible skiing feels, weather it is improving your technique on the groomers to make some awesome carves or straight lining down a massive couloir, everyone has their own thing and sometimes the beauty of the mountains and feeling of the skis is more than enough.
are u new to skiing?
In this video, relatively new yea. This was actually one of the first double blacks I ever did, made it down but was very timid 🤣
From 1995 to 1998, I used to ride the West Bowl when it was the back country. Ive had great powder days in it.
How much harder is way stupid and stupid west?
despite the fact that I'd never be able to do this in such low visibility, makes me feel like Im skiing somehow.
"promo sm" 😻
Aww man you should have dropped the double on it.
To be honest Denizz, no one really knows where Dappers Delight actually is 😂, however I took a line called the blue lift line and this turns off Chunky’s Choice a little earlier than the actual run. I think a lot of people just assume this lift line is Dappers so I figured it was both
@@24carrot_ chunkys was the first bit but then its dappers
When was this taken?
Back in Mid February before the snowstorms at the moment
(looks downhill) this doesn't look so steep (looks uphill) oh fuk
Thanks for sharing. Too bad all the snow they had this past week wasn't enough to bury all the rocks.
have u skied whiplash or some of the other runs on the ridge?
Huge cornices were proving a problem when we were there. Drop in was looking at 10 feet minimum and I'm only a lower/mid level advanced skier so wasn't attempting any of those 😅. You could probably see for yourself at 2:45. Bushrat was the only line with an easy in on the Chainsaw Ridge
@@24carrot_yeah I don’t blame you lol. Chainsaw ridge is pretty gnarly.
the sign you skied past at the beginning showed double black because of the low snowpack
with snow, one of the best runs on blackcomb
i ski this once a year and it’s usually rocky for whatever reason. good on a pow day but needs to be lots of coverage to be good and the exit at the bottom is a little hairy
The P in Ptarmigan is silent.
Sorry about that I thought it might be but I always said per-tarmigan like an idiot 😂
I feel like challenging routes are either crazy steep speed demons or SURVIVAL lmao
This is a perfect example of why trail ratings, especially in side country type of terrain like this, don't tell the full story. You guys are GREAT skiers, and I can totally see how in proper filled in conditions this would be a single diamond. However, in these conditions, it definitely could be a double. I'm from the east coast of the USA and people always rag on our runs for being easy and they're forgetting that steepness has little to do with difficulty at some point. Places like Killington and Stowe have a lot of challenging doubles and it just comes down to typical conditions. Its a lot harder to ski down a 80% grade on ice with exposed rocks and cliffs than it is to ski down that in 2 foot of blower powder.
Yea I agree I'd say conditions play at least a 50% role in the overall difficulty, they really are a vital factor. When making my video thumbnails, I always believe it's better to stick to a self-graded system that means I decide the rating on the given day when we skied it. In said conditions, there was no chance this is a single. I'm also aware that different ski resorts have different ideals of what their rating system is, so having my own ratings (even though they often line up with the resort rating) on the title allows for much more consistency for viewers.
Definitely, looks untracked at the top…😅 To be fair, I’ve been on this on fresh snow and you can BLOW down the top. The egress out gets sketch no matter what. Took a nice 8 - 10 foot drop down to the cat track unexpectedly.
@@edressin Yea unfortunately not the time for it this year. I hope you are ok! As bad as a 10 foot drop sounds, its completely believable in that end bit. Although I did enjoy the end quite a bit because it resembles skiing an mtb track.
Nice, I was just there missed the ptarmigan chutes. Don't forget to do the alphabet gullies off the summit, that was the highlight for us (note I would rate them EX rather than doubles).
Tragically, when we were there, because we have left now and gone back to work 😥, almost all of the alphabet gullies were closed due to the lack of coverage. Hopefully I'll comeback sometime soon and ski them cause they look like the best lines at Lake Louise period. Unfortunately, they are STILL just as closed even though it is late February which must be some kind of record. Oh and yes I agree the EX rating is in order👍
aswesome run. always more fun with your dawgs too!
I think it gets the extra diamond because it is ungroomed, yes it gets icy on poor conditions but so do many other tamer areas of the four resorts.
Watch out. You suck.
Looks tough, very cool
Man i so happy to see snow on blackcomb..hitting next friday ⛷
That was not a nice entrance!
Nvm only saw the first little bit of the video
Great channel dude! Been fun to follow along. Props for hitting some of the nastier stuff in less than ideal conditions. Give Bad Attitude a shot though! Definitely a great line. C&H are good, but I've always prefered B.A.
What's the snow like guys?? They say is quite bad this season
It is but we found some great snow in the high alpine like this magical line down Horstman Peak!
When did you record this video?
Where is this??
Details in description!
oooh yeah ive done it before@@24carrot_
Holly shit you talk to much.
Nice, when did you ski it? On Sunday Feb 11 2024? I skied it only once in icy conditions, had to straight-line to avoid the rock in the middle, and did not want to do it again ever since. lol
Haha fair enough 😂. We did it yesterday in pure slush. Was decent but nothing to write home about
Is your ski K2 Mindbender? I just bought a pair😀
Yea they’re a solid ski I’m sure they’ll serve you well! These were rentals but I personally really liked them for all mountain
Lol. Good comedy mate.
Did you ski it on Sunday February 11? This is usually one of my favourite early season runs, although not this season...
trash light trash snow trash skiing
One of my favourite areas in blackcomb... but you sure do feel exposed looking up at blackcomb from down there....
