Since we communicate our entire lives it is extremely important to learn understand and practice how to communicate correctly. That way we can understand the dynamics of communication and practice to correct our wrong ways into right ways of communication that brings peace harmony clarity understanding into our lives. 😊
Your explanation and role plays are so clear! This is a great video 👏🏼 and I really appreciate it. 🙏🏼
what about a racelist
As an adult adoptee, I really appreciate this podcast. I often think of my birth mother and wonder why nobody was there to help support her. Adoption starts with such a loss and we grieve our whole lives from this important loss. I am glad they are thinking of the parents, everyone deserves to remain with family, if possible.
This is brillianrt. Love this rol;e play
THANKS FROM ETHIOPIA DANIEL HOEK
Thats wasn't a conflict resolution that was just trying to identifying the need of one party.
Just a quick question here 17:54 isn't "awareness (on her hand)" wrongly picked since we are talking about her needs not her friend's. To me, talking about awareness in that example seems to be related to a certain behavior we are waiting from the other person. (It could be seen as a kind of demand if we talk directly to jasmine with that in mind.) So, the need would indeed be consideration in that sense
Very nice
just came upon this randomly, but in listening, Is she saying yes ma’am… if she is, that’s a bit of a head shaker… maybe I’m not hearing her correctly but if so then seems somewhat inappropriate considering your different races…and history… perhaps I miss reading, but that’s my first sense and enough for me to not listen anymore…
what's wrong with yes maam? she was being formal and polite. not everything is about race. one sees color if they are obssessed with colour.😅
I felt the same way
Hi! I am one of the people in the video. Thanks for your comment and your care and consideration about historical racial power imbalances. Hopefully, in me sharing this response, it will land in a connecting way for you, and you will be open to my response. A'Miracle has a deep-rooted pattern of using "ma'am" and "sir". When we first met over 8 years ago, I mentioned to her she really didn't need to call me that and it actually makes me a little uncomfortable being called that because of power dynamics associated with the word(s), but she explained that she was raised to use this, and that it's deeply engrained and her preference. I hope after you hear this, perhaps you might be able to have more space and openness to watch the video, but I understand if not. Thanks.
@@janelleking8684 hi and Thankyou for your thoughtful response…and the use of ma’am is again more of an American Colloquialism I suppose as compared to her in Canada where it is seldom used…
@@Smitch-hw1bv Ahh I understand. Thanks for sharing that!
This is well intentioned but I don't like this process. I found it to be active listening instead of actually listening. The woman "managed the process" and it did not honour the speaker.
Just read this book - excellent role play, thank you both!
But what happens when you use reflective responses.. most of the time the other person will say " don't put words in my mouth" they don't feel heard..
very good. Keep it up!
1:08:07 Good Man
Where can we find those sheets?

My granddaughter has been the victim of abuse for years. We have entrusted this agency with her safety and absolutely nothing has transpired for her protection. Myself and other concerned relatives have reached out and cannot even get a return phone call. Her school has even initiated investigation as a result of her coming to school battered and bruised. It is apparent that the primary objective is not child safety, but rather reforming abusive parents, while leaving the kid in an endangered situation. I am still waiting for a return call going on 3 weeks now.😢. I think the agency needs to reprioritize the objectives. Safety First, abusive reform second.

It seems like getting into a relationship with any other human is not worth it.
Doesn't it or it also tells me everyone is not really doing their homework when they meet someone or we must be really doing it wrong.
My mother in law called my house every day for 22 years. I blocked her number from calling that landline phone because it rang out loud. She got mad. My wife and I stopped having sex. I got mad and said to my wife, "Stop fu ck in g bothering me about blocking your mother." My filed for an OP and the judge ordered me out of my house for 1 year. The year is almost up. What are the chances the judge will extend the order another 2 years.
Really helpful intro to NVC. Thank you!!
I wish there were transcripts available for these :(
Fantastic video. The role plays helped cement the ideas and concepts of NVC.
Thanks so much. This was so simple and easy to understand. For the first time I could understand how can I begin to express my feelings and needs.

Thank you. It's nice to hear about it, but SO clarifying to see it in action. Would you mind doing like 100 more of these role plays? I think if we could see it over and over in different circumstances, it would become part of us and feel natural. We would have more giraffe language than jackal language..

At 15:01 interviewer interrupts the speaker. With empathic question, but still, we need to really give time other person to finish a sentence before responding....
We appreciate for your feedback! Thank you!
Does a Respondent have any rights of confidentiality. After the case was dismissed by judge, does the Respondent have any right to file a motion to seal this case or have address removed?
Any time YT puts ANYTHING about RACE on my recommendations I don't watch it. I do report it as racist, bullying, harassing, offensive bullshit I don't want to see. One thing I do know, if white people post video's that talk negatively about black culture--no matter how TRUE it is--it's considered racist. Until I start seeing videos and articles where BLACK people finally say-IT'S TRUE! YOU'RE RIGHT! Blacks are just as racist as whites and we take advantage of weaknesses and flaws but no more!!! --then I'll consider hearing what you have to say.

Thank you
When I have unresolved feelings, I can lash out. I recently called it emotional vomiting. Just like actual wretching, it's involuntary but necessary for me to have internal balance and it's ugly and embarrassing. I hate when I do this so when I did it I tried to take an honest look at the underlying needs I had that brought that out and it helped me work out that emotional understanding of my needs that I needed.
U and me both! Honestly it scares me to communicate. I been doing this for 44 years! Literally I cry when I think about how what I say or how I speak to people makes them feel a way. I tend to be critical and point the finger because my needs are not being met! I chanted to be a better communicator and it’s challenging asf‼️‼️‼️
