Cooking With Moe & Deb
United States
Приєднався 16 чер 2020
Moe and Deb (Melissa Tinker and Debbie Adams) have been good friends since 6th grade, way back in 1974. Sleepovers involving Barry Manilow, The Eagles, and Bread music on 45 rpm records back in the 70’s are now but a distant memory. Today, these two “80’s ladies” have cooked their way through the decades and now want to share their passion for good food, quality kitchen gadgets and all things “cooking” with you.
Donna's Apple Crisp
We love it when our friends send us recipes! Our fabulous friend and follower Donna sent us her Apple Crisp recipe. Watch as we make it - it's a recipe you will want to try yourself. Thanks so much Donna!
Donna’s Apple Crisp
8 small pink lady apples or your preference, peels, cored and chopped and placed into an 8x8 glass baking dish - set aside.
1 cup self rising flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
Combine these ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Mix with a fork until completely mixed and resembling crumbs. Pour over apples in your baking dish.
Dot with one stick butter and lots of cinnamon, nutmeg and dash of ginger. (We just poured the cinnamon generously and a little less of nutmeg and just a little ginger.)
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until center is bubble. DO NOT MICROWAVE.
A great dessert or or for breakfast.

Time to try it Joy!
Thanks for sharing ❤
Welcome Betty!
Nice update!
Can you Bake the fish?
I'm sure you could - most likely it wouldn't have the same taste or crunch, but if you try it let us know how it turns out!
Vegetable peeler for my peppers! Why didn't I think of that?
Love that fireplace.

Hey y'all, thanks for sharing ❤
I went to the store got all ingredients needed, measured everything out exactly as you did but nope I couldnt eat it..didnt taste anything like long john silvers, I did fry up some potatoes strips and they tasted ok but still no Long John Silvers
Oh no! We thought it was a lot like it. I wonder what made the difference? Did you remember the club soda? I think that was what made it the closest to resemble LJS.
My daddy loved Long John Silvers. Every Father's day he wanted a huge meal of it. I live in west Tennessee and theres one, a brand spankin' new one, in Dyersburg Tennessee.
Awe, my Daddy too, Maria! My sister and brother-in-law lived in Dyersburg, TN back in the 80's. I visited them there several times. He was a preacher at the Church of God there.
@CookingWithMoeandDeb I love it here! I moved from the Valley in Texas to here when I married in 1982. I've been here since! 2 of my 5 adult children live in Dyersburg and one in Ripley and 1 in Dover and my 48 year old son just moved to Rolla, Missouri after he retired from the prison in Tiptonville where I live now. I play piano for my church in Wynnburg...a little spot in the road!! But I love it dearly!!! Most of my grandchildren are here. I have 2 in the Valley and one in Rolla, Missouri. My son had to be near his dad. I was married to him in the '70s. My son is working at FedEx there. I miss seeing him!! Love yall girls....I used to cook on the tow boats out of New Orleans and loved that job!! I'm crippled up now days. But God has His plan for me!! I'll be praying for more subscribers to your channel!! God bless!!
@@mariannemccurdy736 You are the sweetest! I love West TN. My sister and her family pastored churches all over West TN in the 70's and '80's. I think they even pastored at Tiptonville! When I read that I recognized the name right away!
@CookingWithMoeandDeb Well....yall feel free to give us Baptist a holler in Wynnburg sometime!! We'd love to have yall!! As our pastor said....we'll treat you so many ways....you're bound to like one of 'em!!!
I think kitty has something important to say.
Bless him! he always did!
Wow, that was such a great recipe.. i would definitely try it at my home
It was really good. What we didn't put in those little cups, we put in a pie plate and kept it in the refrigerator for several days. Tink ate out of it and loved it! So good and easy!
You ladies are both so adorable. I wonder if eating things like this is why so many American people I see are so chubby?
@@VendettaAllspice well, I’m sure it has a lot to do with it. The typical American diet over the last 75 years or so has contributed to the “chubby” problem in the US. We are trying to do better! lol
Sorry I was trying to type pollock fish
Haddock fish or paddock is better tasting with this batter mix
Thanks, Jerry! We will have to try that. Deb and I are neither one big fish eaters, so we don't know what is best when it comes to that. :)
I used this today and it was great!!
That's great! I'm glad you liked it.
In my country i buy the baking paper that is double sided...you can use both sides...so when the one side starts to look a bit dark i just turn it upside down and can use it another 2 ir 3 times while baking cookies or drying out rusks...sending you so much love from sunny South Africa😊
No stickage ! Much easier to clean up too!
Wow! I love it! You both are so talented. Thanks for sharing..I hope you’ll do it again sometime!! Merry Christmas!🎄
Is there a video on how to make the vanilla? I'm pretty new to your channel
We have done short videos and we have talked about it. Be on the lookout. We will do a new one soon. Thanks for tuning in!
Looks delicious 😋
Happy birthday! I've been seeing that pan A LOT ...would love to have a one-piece one though 😢 Hummingbird is one of my favorite cakes to bake, usually in a bundt or tube pan, either with a dusting of powdered sugar or a really simple, but thick, vanilla glaze.
Ive never seen the two piece pan like that. It's really neat. And that cake was devine! :)
Looks so good!
This is a great video! This is an all time favorite of mine!
Happy Birthday Moe! The cake looks delicious!
I hope you two keep it up. Super wholesome stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for watching. :)
Great tutorial. Thank you very much for sharing with us.
You're welcome!
Yum, great video! Just subscribed!
thank you Sue!
A couple of forks does the same thing! A little less messy! Looks good ladies!
Yes! I could never get the 2 forks method to work for me, but I know some do! thanks for watching! - Moe
Super convenient if you have relatives staying with you. Looks yummy! 😋 👍
Yum ❤
All yous need brandy yummy 😅
So I add whole eggs to the white cake mix, not the egg whites called for on the box?
Yes, that's what we did.
I always have done the filling on the stove to a light boil then chilled it down in the fridge before filling the dough?
Why didn't u chill the cookie dough? Also I've always added white and brown sugar to the cookie mix and more flour so this is a small batch?
@@dianabroughton1998 because we were in a hurry but normally you would chill.
Use coconut oil instead of paraffin!
@@fayeproctor3803 we can try that. Does it harden the chocolate?
@ Yes it does harden chocolate
@@fayeproctor3803 Okay! Gonna try it. I have some organic coconut oil in the pantry. Thanks for the tip Faye!
@ I used wax in the past coconut oil is easier and modern day folks don’t frown on it!,
Might I recommend Michelle's Butter Cream Syrup or Michelle's Maple 🍁 Syrup she was on Oprah's Best Of and shes a woman small business. The Best Syrup you will wver taste ❤❤❤!
Yummy 😋
Delicious looking dish ❤
I wish you do a copy cat krystal's 5 piece spicy wings ive been trying to figure that recipe out for years iss like a sweet and hot tates like maby a hint of cinnamon is in it but not sure!
We need to go by Krystal and pick some of those up. I bet they're good! Then maybe we could figure it out!
You just gave me a fantastic idea for some chicken I have in the deep freezer that needs to be cooked. Nice thing about this is your ingredients most people will have or easily substituted. Looks so yummy!!
Yes! We love cooking things that we already have the ingredients on hand!
u guys look like pretty sisters. U have some keeper recipes that look delicious.
Thank you! We aren't blood sisters, but are close like sisters for sure! Been friends since 6th grade and that was a looooooong time ago!
You are correct. The only way to the island is a boat and no cars on the island. You pronounce Mackinac as "Mackinaw". I am a Michigander and me and my husband go up there every August. We are not fudge fans though.
That's awesome Brenda! We want to go!
Why did you not use the remaining cream cheese mixture that you left in the bowl? Did you use it for another dish, or did it go to waste?
It made a little more than we needed for the amount of chicken we had. Thanks!
@@CookingWithMoeandDeb Thank you for answering. I really did want to know.
@@missourimule921 You're welcome!
Well do you have to go by recipe or can you dry it out and store it?
I just add some molasses and mix really good and store. :)
I'm so excited.... We don't have anything to that degree of cast iron. NOT IN AUSTRALIA 😢
Aww , that's to bad. This place is the best!
❤
Wow that's got to be the tip of the century, I absolutely love it.
Yay!
I chilled the dough and it wasn’t sticky. Good cookies!
Great tip! We just didn't have time to chill it but that definitely is a good plan!
