Guys! I totally forgot to talk about my electrical system. Duh. I have a big ol' house battery that charges off the alternator like in the last van. I also posted a video explaining the entire electrical system that you can watch if you want detail. Thanks for watching :)

I've been living in my Ford Transit Connect for two months and love it. It's a perfect size for me! However, it gets VERY cold up here so I got an apartment for the colder months. I wish I could live in it year-round but it's not feasible, especially for a smaller vehicle like the Connect that requires some degree of cooking outside. :( IG: abby.j.bennett

You need a permit to film in the White Mountain National Forest for commercial purposes, including posting for You Tube. That is if you are uploading to You Tube and receive any compensation from posting on You Tube. You can only film for personal use. " "Penalties for filming in a national park without a permit can include fines. The National Park Service requires a permit for all commercial filming, including for individuals or small groups who generate revenue from posting footage on UA-cam. This is to ensure that the natural environment is not disturbed and that the activities do not interfere with other visitors. " You are not filming for personal use but are receiving alot of income from your videos so what you have done is illegal. You can be fined and restricted not to use the National Forest if anyone chose to bring it to the attention of the Forest Service and persued the matter with them. Good luck with you filming.

Additionally...for a low key ventilation approach...investigate using the floor and the frame channels and duct the air down vs thru the roof...

Thx for sharing your cool buildout. I am hoping my employer lets me buy my 2012 when I retire!!! it only has 29,000 miles and Ive been the only driver since new. Its been serviced twice per year since then. Only recommendation I have is your bedframe issue. Dont try to re-engineer the whole thing for comfort...get two pieces of 1/8" paperboard or 1/16" melamine for under your mattress...in a pinch those would even make something you could sacrifice for snow or mud traction...

Abby no longer works at the cabin but the video which 500 thousand people have watched remains. The little known cabin was a last place left in the White Mountains that you didn't need a reservation but now it will be overcrowded and ruined. Abby wasn't hired to ruined the cabin but she has. If you are concerned about what she has done contact the Randolph Mountain Club and voice your concerns so that they will no hire other professional UA-camrs that can make thousands of dollars at the expense of the cabin. Contact them by email or phone. Also post here to ask Abby to delete the Video to save the cabin. Doubt you would as this is how she makes money. One hundred year old small cabin open to the public has been ruined by a UA-camr/ Instagram poster. Bet the other caretakers and RMC members just love what she has done.

  • @Zebra4-rk3li

Wonder how much money she makes with so many views. Few thousand or more. Hope she enjoys the spoils of her videos. I agree with the post below the cabin is or will be ruined due to overuse. The video will remain and views with increase even after she is no longer there. It was a nice place but someone just had to ruin it.

More than any other vid i've watched, this highlights the desperate need for a hightop. Living on knees cant be done and its showing here in spades. Vans seem big until you begin filling with a build and the space evaporates immediately. I have no idea how a couple with a dog and cat manage this.

The cabin holds 12 people first come first serve with no reservation system. I was already busy and sometimes filled up before you as a You Tuber got the job and made a video that 500 Thousand peopel have watched. Imagine how crowded and exploited the cabin is now after such exposure. There won't be any room anymore. It must be great to be famous but now people will reconize you as the person who ruined a hundred year old cabin and tradition in the White Mountains due to overcrowding. A lot of RMC members and guests will and do really resent you for destroying the cabin because of your selfishness so will other caretakers and the RMC Club itself. Why don't you delete the video and try to preserve the cabin. You would lose money from You Tube but people really don't like what you have done to Gray Knob. You were hired as a caretaker not someone to destroy Gray Knob which you have done. People have posted on hiking forums how destructive you have been and they are really saddened and upset about how you ruined Gray Knob. But hey it all about you and your You Tube channel and number of views and all the money you make from 500,000 views not others or Gray Knob. You are a UA-camr with 24 videos / 700,000 view and you cross post to Instagram and you have sponsers. That should add up to several thousand dollars a month of income at the expense of Gray Knob. Can you not see why people resent you posting for profit at the expense of a hunded year old cabin and Mountain Club. You have ruined it. I have cancelled my membership to the Randolp Mountain Club. Thanks

Lol, I have been caretaking for five months and it's not any more busy. Folks are just curious to see what life as a caretaker is like from afar. Very few will invest in the plane ticket, time, and effort it takes to hike up 3k feet. Use your common sense, man!

Not to pee in your Wheaties, but you're 28 and making life decisions based on choosing those that are exciting and carry uncertainties, is not the way to manage your life. You must either have some sort of privileges or haven't experienced the challenges which would press you to know that life isn't going to just take care of you, regardless of your feelings and beliefs. I wonder what your perspective will be 10 years from now? You think you have time, as you said, but you really don't. You're approaching 30, your 1/3 of your way through life. This doesn't mean you need to be career-driven, you don't need to collect things, but there is some base needs to take care of yourself as you age. Well, unless, of course, you have family money or just have no appreciation of how time flies and your responsibility to take care of yourself throughout your life, not just during your carefree youth.

Cool. This is why I decided to join the military at 28, after I'd already earned two degrees. I wanted to live a "life less normal, and I knew if I didn't do it then, when I was still young and fit, I'd regret it for the rest of my life. I was an anti-poverty advocate for a few years out of university and that made me very aware of how privileged I was, and I wanted to give back. I served for a decade and, yes, it messed up my "career track," but I've done things "normal" people wish they'd done but didn't. You're living a great life on your terms. I'd have loved to have had a girlfriend like you if I could be 28 again. 🙂
