Does it come with a motor? Do I have to buy that separately from you or do I have to come up with something else? Because if all this thing is is a body kit and no drivetrain no engine. Why is this price so high? This thing is over $10,000 for essentially a shell of a jeep

I'm curious as to what someone would use as an engine and where to get and type of drive train. I know a lot of people would say LS engine, v8, blah blah blah. But for simplicity, I'd think some 4 cylinder and manual trans would be awesome around town and light trails. Maybe even a turbo diesel

I was the Director if Services at Camp Darby Italy in 1981-2. We had a Depot Support Activity that was collecting up non running and rusted out M151 jeeps which replaced the MBs and the M38s. Was an entirely different vehicle and shared few if any parts at all with the earlier 1/4 tons. The hulks were stripped if all running gear, engines and suspension. These parts were sorted, cleaned and cataloged. We received big shipments of crates similar to those in the video. The crates contained newly fabricates M151 bodies. A production line was set up by our Director of Maintenance to churn out basically new M151s. The M151 was washed out of the inventory a few years later and replaced with the HummV series

Hello Stacy, first off, great video! I have a handed down (from grandfather to father to me) 1967 Jeepster 8701 all original. It had an amateur paint job done a decade ago, and my grandfather did some not-so-robust body repairs back in the 1980s. It is kind of rough. The odometer shows 74518 which I am not sure is 74,518 or 174,518 since there is only has 5 digits. I have had some brake work, new tie rods, etc. but not a lot else. I have also had a very hard time getting value estimates. Can you provide a contact to evaluate its worth and restoration potential? I would appreciate it greatly! Jeff in Indiana

Grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Father was a WWII Navy Veteran. Remember him talking about Surplus Jeeps in a crate, think they were $100 in the early 50's he didn't have that kind of money to spend on toys trying to buy a house and raise three children on one paycheck.

Considering it’s also practically impossible to find a drivetrain for these. Does anyone make drivetrain kit or is there a suitable donor vehicle out there that can be stripped for parts that will somewhat fit with some work? The price for the kit is a bit too costly. You can get a real rough but running HUMMV for around the same price. Just as the Jeep, no doors, windshield or roof.
