DCS: Wolf Pack US Warbirds - Anton taking care of business
This was a clip from our Saturday night mission. My mic volume was low so my audio is hard to hear. Objectives were take as many enemy held airfields out east on the Normandy map as we could. My trusty Fw190A8 was doing work.

I drove this track to get my 3 trophies and that was it. I find the track to be pretty difficult. Spent a few hours driving it and got my time to 1:47.740. It needs more work but I am happy with for just a few hours of driving.

Be gentle gentle. I know there are plenty of areas for improvement. lol. If I could have hit turn 2 and 9 better I think I would have been low 1:26s instead of high 1:26s.

My personal best. Lots of missed opportunites to gain some time but so far it is my best run. Missed too many hairpin turns.

Some gun and field camera footage taken with the FW190 A-8. The Anton is a beast if flown to its strengths. These PvP fights were recorded on my warbirds server. If interested, the server can be found by searching "Wolf Pack US." A list of servers will pop up. Just look for the warbirds server on the Normandy map.

Went out and did a few sorties on 162 Open Conflict server. Had a few nice flights. Here is one I recorded. Added a missile tally system when editing the video to keep track of kills. Added bonus shot of the closest missile survival I have ever had.

Short Wolf Pack Cinematic. If it flies, we fly it. We have about a dozen dedicated servers ranging from warbirds to jets and everything in between. We run several missions throughout the week. Missions consist of warbirds mission night, jet mission night, helo mission night, and a liberation campaign. We have a dedicated competition team and an A10C crew. Before someone says there were no p47s or mustangs during the battle of Britain, these are put there to allow people to fly more than just the Spitfire. This is the newest mission for our Warbirds scene. This is a PvP/PvE mission. There are three German raid groups of 22-30 planes that player(s) can escort across the channel to hit British airfields. One German raid group per one British airfie...

Thanks for this! Very good tutorial. How are things changed if the missiles are coming from SAMs? Since they're coming from the ground I assume getting under their radar is harder?
Wolfpack best server
I remember this mission night. One of the best ones we did. Very cool
Boom goes the dynamite
How to fly this server in the current time. Take off, if your airfield isn't being swamped by enemy planes, fly to the frog legs inlet and join the furball. Nobody really does any of the mission stuff. Its just take off, fly to frog legs, if no one is there, go vulch. It is the DCS version of War Blunders sim mode in play style. I am sorry, but this keeps me out most times and watching for Overlord activity.
I can't make people fly ther mission stuff. I wish more people would as it takes a long time to put this all together.
This is a helpful video but maybe in the future mention that it’s for folks that know the core basics of notching. Someone learning notching 101 would be totally lost without some initial explanation.
Thats me i guess, i just know that you have to move yourself so that missiles are coming at you at a 90 degree angle and make them "look" towards the ground
In general, how long would you say the flight time is to get to dogfight? I come from growling so I have no idea here Also is it possible to fly the i-16 ? I know it’s a slow plane hence the first question 😄 Spifire and i-16 is what I’m looking at to start on this server so knowing about flight time would be great 😊
Hello. I have made the server so you can either takeoff and fly about 5 minutes to find a fight or you can fly an hour. Theere are multiple bases. The i16 is available on the allied side. Taking off from azeville and flying east down the coast shoudl find you a fight within a few minutes when the server is populated.
@@olgroovyjerrygaming3167 that’s so cool man! I hate long flight time just to get to the action so that’s really good, I will 100% check it out
@@hugoferrari6468 Awesome. You should really check out our discord. We have built a rather large warbirds community that is very helpful with all things warbirds. discord.gg/cf9K7cEj
Is this server still active?
Yes sir. It is an active server. In fact I just added a bunch more stuff to the server. Busies times are weekdayd evenings and weekends US time zones. I have capped the server at 40 players.
@@olgroovyjerrygaming3167 This is great news I just joined as well very much looking forward to it
It's the best server
Wolfpack server=best server
That was a great night of flying
Yep. Lots of fun.
Wow, great video, it really shows what DCS WW2 multi-player is all about. Good flying too, and excellent shooting.
Thanks Greg. Hope to see you in the skies again soon.
It's 'Brands Hatch', with an 's'
Ok. I know what it is called. lol. Obviously a typo
I’ve seen you drive your Miata faster trying to beat the streetlight home from leaving your boyfriend’s house.
Not bad at all. You seem to be consistent, which is great. One thing you seem to be doing most of the time that affects your performance is turning in too early.
Thanks. yeah. I can see that watching the replay. Just one of many things to work on.
Cool
Didn’t know you could drive with a flight stick.
ive got skills!!!!!!
Great stint, but I could run these roads faster. No slight to you, I run like forest gump
I'm sure. I lost a good 20 seconds on bad turns alone. Plus some of the straights I could have handled faster. Still learning the course. Best time I could put up right now..
This does not work in the 14. The rwr is not accurate enough to notch 120c's. Pretty much anything else though. The notch window on c's is VERY small and must hold the notch for at least 3 seconds. Beaming works to kinetically beat them though, if outside of 8nm. on the deck.
great explanation
You're muttering.
Is this server still up? I searched for it but couldn't find anything
It is still up. Had some updating that had to be done due to some DCS updates. If I ever close the server I will post in the public spaces like here, forums, or our discord.
There I was trying to figure out the ww2 server and there you are flying around all cool in a plane with no pylons. Is that a mod?
Yeah the plane and pylons are a mod. Found here. grinnellidesigns.com/ I will add it to the dsecription
Badass
wonderful video, it's like I'm watching a live movie in the cinema, all the praises, congratulations 🤗👍👌
thank you ver much. Appreciate the comment
Wow this was insane! some of the best dogfight cinematics i have ever scene, regardless of that its a game!
thanks!
GREAT video 👍
Thanks 👍
A beautiful sight. Nice editing.
thanks
Do the B17s not fire back?
They were. You can see in some of the footage of the 109 where it comes in from behind. There are red tracers. All those b17s are firing on enemy.
@@olgroovyjerrygaming3167 Thanks. I couldn't see them myself, but then again I am red colour blind. I guess that will do it huh!
Ok I guess I'll buy the assets pack and Normandy 2.0 now.....
Nice video, thanks for sharing. Much prefer WW2 :)
Nice job groovy!
Right on. Easily your best yet.
🤟🤟🤟
If you used your afterburners you could have saved more bombers! Newb
My warp speed button was broken. Those B17s were weak anyway. Survival of the fittest brah. lol
Awesome!
tysm, I survived the merge, shot down one su27 before the merge, and another one after the merge, then my wingman crashed and I hard landed on the run way and side tilted and crashed very cool :D
For that AIM-120 at 4:00 all the chaff in the world that you have thrown had 0% effect on the missile's seeker or tracking capability. It was only defeated by it's own too high drag while attempting to keep you intercepted. Chaff works almost 0% of chances for AIM-120s, especially the B models and don't ask me why, ask ED!;) Tested! The only way you can defeat an AIM-120 except being out of it's lethal range is randomly through notch which also takes place at a quite low rate of chance, NOT because of chaff usage!
You can sometimes out turn the amraam in russian planes if you time it by watching your rwr and disabling flight assistance or whatever its called. Sadly, the second missiles usually fixes that.
@@robertkalinic335 Yeah, only when it's below some 1000km/h and especially with the retarded kids choice, the FC3 F-15C which has unlimited structural G and it's flight control surfaces deflect instantaneously with 0 absolute delay, completely unrealistic. Because of the F-15C's behavior you can outturn the AIM-120C even at some 1500km/h missile speed. All in all, the AIM-120's in game still have too high lift at critical AoA AT 29-30 degrees and too low drag at high AoA. The R-27, which is suppose to have higher lift is easily defeated just by pulling 9G forcing it to overshoot which is also unrealistic for that missile's lifting capabilities with the wings it has and high G load it can withstand. The R-27 also has too much drag besides too low lift versus AoA function, not being able to reach realistically far distances. Not talking about the max distance of the R-27s as it's internal battery dies (most players don't know about that), but talking only about the R-27s maximum physical flight distance which is way lower than it should and this happens with all russian AA missiles! It's like all the russian AA missiles are purposely made in DCS to underperform. I say that from a physics point of view, not what I like or not.
You don't bleed a semi-active radar missile's speed unless it reacquires the target (and the real R-27 is able to do that according to info about it), but as long as all the AA semi-active missiles in DCS lose the target once due to chaff, it's bye bye for that missile and it doesn't need to maneuver anymore. It might take decades to have them take care of this aspect also as they're always busy for new content...!
Radar R-27s are a joke for tracking. They lose tracking easily even without good notch and even without dropping a single chaff and they don't have realistic long ranges either. The AIM-120s on the other hand lose track very hard (notch) and their range is somewhat closer to real (still a bit too draggy to this day after many updates) so it the R-27ER vs AIM-120C is a very biased encounter where the AIM-120 is an overkill against the R-27ER in every single aspect. DCS = pro western sim.
This is great info!
Used to fly on the storm of war server a couple years ago, and just found this server this week. Tons of fun so far, really nice work.
thanks. Lots of updates since new map dropped
The dumbest AIs I could see yet, but good vid=)
LOL. Couldnt agree more. Video isnt about the AI or showing how you can knock down four easily. Video is about notching and what it looks like and what you are looking for. I think those AI were set to veteran as well. lol However, this was also before the update on the AI.
I got into the warbirds . And I love it , idk game play is way more interesting, keeping your head on the swivel looking outside of the cockpit . instead of inside the cockpit shooting aim120’s at targets your can’t see
p♥r♥o♥m♥o♥s♥m ❣️
This method only works if they are not utilizing STT right? this is relying on the missile going pitbull and evading the missiles radar not the jets?
This works for both. You are watching for the warning sign. If the missiles is self guided the war thing will indicate the missiles position in relation to your plane. If the missile is guided by the enemy plane all the way to the target say like a fox1 you will get the same notification on screen but that will be the guiding source (the jet). Missiles that are guided by the jet and silent to your radar will only go active when they lose guidance from supporting aircraft or they go pit bull. Then you get notification. You can also. Itch enemy jet radar the same way making it harder to for them to lock you. All rAdar has a notch filter. Finding the notch similar across the board.
Just started flying on this server, well done and lots of fun. (Super Dadio)
Good job groovy
Groovy, I do enjoy the Shrike and A-8 is nicely done in DCS. I love the gun camera view in the video. Keep them coming!
