This is just what I was looking for. I played my first drum circle last week and am totally smitten. I'm a guitar player in the style of Flamenco improvisation. It's chordal and highly rhythmic and what a work out to play for 90 minutes straight. I'm going back next month and with this drum circle music to practice to I'm sure I'll do much better. Keep playing friends!
Go! The Power of Drums. Congratulations for organizing this . If you are in Las Vegas or Visiting, Come to Winchester Dondero Cultural Center between McCleod and Dessert Inn for IGNITE D.R.U.M.S. with Drum Master ( Harold) Baba Gee on Saturdays from 5pm-6pm. Forget about your level, become a master in minutes.
Feeling the waves of the island
I like the video Chicago drum circle
I can smell them thru my phone
I like the way the guy with the hat and 2 congas uses his LEFT hand to articulate his beat. Clearly he's had some training. It's not easy to be a two handed player and not just play mostly with your dominant hand.
No 3n5iendo cuando repiten y repiten com autonatas que wentido 5iene
I dont want to watch a she dance!
September 2021...Miss these,....we have them in Columbus, Ohio, too. But not enough. They pop up around outdoor concert events,...but they are discouraged. There are a few that happen in parks far away,.....from average folks.
That lady's awesome
I like how they sound. I hope they're still doing it :-)
Right on! I've played with most of this group 5 years ago in Balboa Park Nice to see them again!
I was probably there🐸👽😦😮😯😎
This is so fun to practice my didgeridoo to 🎶
Someone please take those saucer looking bells away from that lady with the sun glasses on! Jees, you can see the irritation on people's faces beginning at 26:15 or is that someone else's annoying use of an instrument
24 mins, nice!
This is great. Thanks for posting video with great sound.
stinks like spoiled shrimp
It looks so dark which is the same issue I have most of the time with this camera even while changing settings.
Wow. Just lovely. And in a beautiful setting. A beautiful example of what a drum circle can be. No snare drums, timbales, or incessant bell bangers. The exact opposite of the Venice Beach drum circle. Simone92081, you did a great job. Excellent camera work & editing. Thanks for making and sharing this video
Great energy! Looks like a fun group. Love the array of unusual instruments.
Someone asked why you are supposed to avoid high shutter speeds. Your shutter speed is supposed to be double your frame rate in order for motion in your video to appear normal. I have found that with interviews and similar scenes of little movement, you can go higher without ill effects. But watch this video again closely. Right where I say "things are supposed to start looking funny" there is a car going by in the background. Look at the wheels, how choppy and weird that motion is. So I would not recommend ignoring the shutter / frame rate rule when shooting sports.
The world needs more drum circles!
Outstanding circle!
What is the metal thing he uses? very interesting sound love it.
Textbook talking head, good work
I did a shorter video of the hang drum at same San Dieguito River Park. It's under 'Dude playing hang drum at San Dieguito River Park, Encinitas, CA.' I've only had 48 views. Hope u'll check mine out too. Thank u!
Yeah, I finding out too that the old "shutter speed must be twice your frame rate" rule is not all that crucial. For instance, I just shot some footage with this camera at 720 60p with a shutter speed of 60. Looks fine. (and now I don't have to crank my gain up anymore to shoot that scene). But in this footage here, when you look very closely at the car in the background, at a shutter speed of 500 the wheels look very weird. So, it all depends on how much motion you have in your shot. Talking heads are probably safe at any shutter speed.
Why are you supposed to avoid high shutter speeds? I could understand if you are going for a film blurry motion look.. but for normal video I think you could go high..
i agree with you on the shutter speed. I dont know why everyone says you must lock into 2x your frame rate. On sunny days if I dont have my ND filter for my GH3 i just crank up the shutter speed and nobody has ever noticed.
Hang jam sounded great. You should make a clip of that. Y would get loads of views
Yeah we have drum circles like this at Wiccan-fest every year. Lost my pants once, found them on top of a picnic table 20 yards away the next morning. Only downside was the mosquitos.
To clarify, IR is infra-red. Hence reds in the blacks. "too powerful" as in, the more red/IR you remove in that part of the spectrum, the less red you get, which results in a green tint.
The ND issue you're having is called IR contamination. However in your case, I think your ND filter has built-in IR reduction, but is too powerful. ND filters without the IR reduction will give off a very red tint in black fabric. "Hot Mirror" NDs (NDs w IR reduction) elminate that. As a result, if there is too much, the image may appear greenish. Your Sony may already have a IR filter in front of the sensor, since all picture or DSLRs or large sensor cameras have that.
My apologies in that case. I should have paid more attention, I didn't catch those parts. Sorry Simone!
The amount of zoom plays a big part in controlling the depth of field, but you don't mention zoom at all here? I only discovered it about a month ago. Zooming in (and standing back from subject, to regulate distance) allows for a shallower depth of field. Maybe you know this, but you don't mention it here. And, as far as I can see, it's the most important part of controlling depth of field.
I trust the tiffen brand, there is one on ebay 77VND (adorama) for $149, not sure what size the NEX-EA50 takes. Sony should have built one in and prob will on later models.
Yes, 1.2 at least. On this particular day I could have used 5 or 6 stops ND. For right now I have ordered another 0.9 filter, so I can stack them when needed. Will see how that covers me. Phillip Bloom reviewed a variable ND filter by Heliopan and said that it was the best ever. No color cast, supposedly, that sounded very attractive. But it costs around $400 - not an option for me right now.
A good set of fixed and variable ND filters would be ideal. Really depends on time of day and if clouds will be changing up light levels frequently. Professionally, I wouldn't call Hoya "good glass". Tiffen, B+W, and variable ND would be Singh-Ray & Lightcraft Workshop pro grade.
Thanks a Lot for the video, What nd you thienk go work better 1.2 or higher? I work a lot in the carribean sun.
