You display the same arrogance as all Christians, claiming because a verse occurs in the Bible it must be true so everyone who disagrees with it is automatically wrong. The Bible cannot be entirely true because numerous contradictions have been found in it. For example there are two stories of creation in Genesis. One version says man was created before animals but the other says the reverse. So claims by Christians that you alone possess the truth and everyone else is wrong is pure arrogance and unsupported by evidence. So whatever the Bible says about the beginning of the day, week, month or year is irrelevant. You made a few other errors. For instance you correctly stated the time for Earth to rotate once is slightly under 24 hours but that is the sidereal period. You didn't notice the synodic period (the time for the sun to reappear overhead) is 24 hours. Because the Earth is moving it takes a bit longer than Earth's sidereal period of rotation for the sun to reappear overhead. Moreover you failed to notice that both the length of Earth's day and the time for the moon to revolve around the Earth are gradually increasing. The Earth's rotation is very gradually slowing down; about 3 billion years ago the Earth rotated in about 8 hours. (Note that this meant there were about 3 times as many days in a year.) Moreover the moon is gradually moving away from the Earth and hence its time to orbit Earth is increasing. So the 24 hour day, the number of days in a month, and the number of days in a year were clearly not defined by God because they are gradually changing. I will add that your claim we should start each month on the new moon is impractical, as the months would quickly get out of sync with the seasons and the year. Finally you made an error when you claimed no astronomical phenomenon explains the week. In fact the 7 days of the week were named after the 7 planets known in antiquity; Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the sun and moon (the latter two were considered planets in ancient times because it was believed that they orbited Earth along with the 5 actual planets). It is obvious to anyone that Sunday is named after the sun and Monday after the moon. The remaining days of the week were named after the 5 planets so contrary to what you said there IS an astronomical phenomenon that explains the week. The week was adopted long before the Bible was written so it is only natural the Biblical writers used it when devising their story of creation. And I had to laugh at your suggestion that "sin" messed up the calendar. The calendar was changed for practical reasons, not due to this imaginary concept of "sin". Edit: On your website I noticed you claim the name Saturday originated from the word "Sabbath" but that is not the case. As I wrote earlier the names of the days of the week came from the 5 known planets in antiquity, the sun and the moon. The name Saturday in fact comes from Saturn. It is obvious Sunday and Monday come from the sun and the moon respectively. Tuesday comes from Mars (Tuesday is "mardi" in French), Wednesday comes from Mercury (Wednesday is "mercredi" in French), Thursday comes from Jupiter (Thursday is "jeudi" in French), and Friday comes from Venus (Friday is "vendredi" in French).

The day after the biblical new moon feast is day one of the week to work. So shabbat is rarely Saturday, etc. Lunar shabbat is more biblical stuff. Even biblical feasts, like pesach/passover, is regarding lunar shabbat too ... However it's hard for most to use biblical Shabbat, because usually it is a working day. Also, i learned that many church companies knew this and deceived people about biblical lunar shabbat because their company wouldn't have enough people, probably super low, if the people used the biblical lunar shabbat, and when not many people they would have low or no money in that business. To say that we look for a "sliver" of the moon to proclaim or 'confirm' a NEW MOON, tends to imply that The Creator created the NEW MOON, and SUN i.e., equal day and equal night on the Fourth day and showed a robust sun after a sliver of moon. This would not be equal nor would it show the moon "ruling" the night! If the New moon is a sliver, and we must wait to SEE it before we can proclaim it, then why was David able to say in 1-Samuel 20:5, "Behold Tomorrow is the New Moon! ? What does equal day and equal night mean? Presumably that the duration of sun above the horizon equals the duration of sun below the horizon.(not determined by the fullness of the moon). A New moon and a NEW Sun seem to indicate each, at creation, in FULL presentation. If the moon is in the last stages of waxing seems more definitive as a method of predicting rather than looking for a 'confirmation'. Not a perfect comparison, but a NEWborn baby is a COMPLETELY REVEALED body, and not just part of a head in evidence. Please comment.
