Just clips and videos of stuff that I like to do. Hopefully as I progress the content will get better. Most of the footage so far is mostly raw footage, I will be starting to mess around with editing soon!
2014 Yamaha Bolt 950 R-Spec Dyno Session
Definitely not ideal numbers... but it's running better than it was.
The guy said the tuner didn't have enough adjustment
With the recommended settings the bike was 8:1 at full throttle, and 10:1 in the mid range. He's got it to 11:1 at full throttle and a good 12.5:1 in the mid, with the Cobra tuner turned all the way lean.
He said with a better tuner, the baffles out of the pipes, and on a day that wasn't so crazy hot, it should pull over 50hp.

I couldn't say no when asked if I wanted to try out the new YXZ a little. I had to get out of it before I got too comfortable, or I never would have left! Too much fun! Maybe money can't buy you happiness.. but it can buy a YXZ, and that's pretty damn close!

How far would you drive for a $1000 Oracle? I found one but it's a 10hr drive one way.
It's not an M 14 there's no selector switch or transfer bar!
You are correct, I would change it to M1A, but it isn't one of those either 😂
Does the foot Clutch Help you to do better drifting?
A good old clutch kick definitely helps to shock the drivetrain and get some wheel spin going. The conditions were super icy and slippery when I shot this, so drifting wasn't hard. Driving time would be the most valuable thing with either transmission. This was my second time driving a YXZ, so it was pretty sloppy!
Filmed with mirage potato
Filmed with old school GoPro. So yes, basically a potato in today's standards.
@@bellofello1 haha no worries mate, thanks for the content
@@Sinister_Reaper thanks, I would have some better stuff, but shortly after I got a better GoPro, it ended up at the bottom of a deep lake. RIP
the magna is simply timeless. even now, 40 years later, and they keep up just fine with the modern day fuel injected sportys
Is it standard shift
No, automatic
Is that north bay
It's half an hour from Barrie
Hello maybe You can help me, i got same YXZ and i got much engine lower temp then in summer, normally in summer i got 90C but in Winter 65-80 its normal ?? What temp You got on this winter ride ??
It's cold in winter, totally normal to run cooler.
Nice! What's the final speed in km/h (or mph) on 5th gear until the rev limiter?
How is your M14 doing today? Heard some bad things about the bolts in the 2013+ production (MIM bolts)
Yup that old Magna would smoke you any day of the week....lol
Was that the 30x reticle eye piece or the 22x.
30x
Bad ass man
I’m about to do the same thing as well
Skip to 4:00 to see an actual 4th gear roll on test. Everything before is just playing around.
Thanks for editing that, I was gonna say all the first part of the video is just part throttle roll ons, and adjusting the dials on the tuner to see where he could get the air fuel ratios. The full pulls are at the end Overall I'm not super impressed with the service (no torque curve, no afr logged on the charts, no print outs, etc..), although he did say his main computer wasn't working for whatever reason so who knows. Thanks for the view and comment! Cheers
Cool love how you got an AR-15 on the wall with the tools.
evilcowboy thanks, it goes back in the cabinet when I’m done working down there, but it sure looks pretty on the wall! I just realized how boring this video is though haha, no music or anything... what was I thinking hahaha
Can you provide a link to where you purchased your Stock it’s awesome!
R6 Hlebasko He stopped making them unfortunately. It was a company up here in Canada called Xander arms
My dad let me drive his utv and the only thing i did was drift it. Snow drifting in these are so fun
An awesome rig and filming! Did you have a chance to test the accuracy at different distances, in terms of MOA?
Thanks! I didn't get too crazy about testing accuracy since I usually only shoot cheap crap through it. I've seen anywhere from 3-6" groups at 100. It will make consistent hits out to about 500 on a full size IPSC steel target. Until I put a nice barrel on it, it will be a "minute of man" kinda rifle. I'll take it, considering it's only a Norinco. I have a video shooting it at 200 offhand too if you wanted to see more of it. Thanks for watching :)
Dude, I'm not going to lie, you have mastered that machine. One can only hope to move a steering wheel and a sequential trans at your pace. It's like karate in a side by side. Chuck Norris would be jealous.
LOL!!! this totally made my day, I don't know about mastered, it was my first time in it to be honest. Thanks for the kind words, hopefully I get a chance to make another video one day since the customer that bought it turbo'd it ;)
Awesome bike man ! - what country is this ?
Thanks! I'm in Canada
have fun guys .. just stay out of the thing if your stoned or drunk .. i drive to and drink ..dumped it enough lol . but that is a beast on 4 tires play safe have fun
screemer122 Hahaha we always play safe :)
I like your channel i subbed if you wanna sub back that would be awesome keep riding
Cabin full of hands xD calm your hands, then it seems as you're in charge.
Definitely!! It was my second time in one, and knowing the camera was rolling really adds some pressure! My hands were absolutely floating all over the place 😂 It would be amazing to get some real seat time in one on a proper course 👌
what gear? and clutch up?
Can you get me contact info for the guy that was making these chassis?
Sorry Sam, I don't have his e-mail anymore. I'm not sure if any of his old forum posts are still archived out there. Googling "xander arms chassis" should yield some results. Cheers
If that exhaust is too restrictive diameter wise I'm glad I got the Vance & Hines twin slash exhaust because I've noticed that the real deal exhaust from SS Custom Cycles seems to be a bit small.
I don't think the V&H's diameter is all that much larger. I've installed a few sets at work, the covers/heat shields is what makes them look like a large diameter pipe. From talking back and fourth with SS, they did a lot of dyno work with various diameter pipes. They said the 950's seem to prefer smaller diameter head pipes. They actually get the highest numbers with 2 in to 1 slip ons. We think the low numbers in my case, are attributed to poor atmospherics and the fact that it was running so rich. I'm going to try another tuner and see what kind of number I get come spring time on a different dyno.
DanOfTheNorth yeah there's a guy at SS Custom Cycles name Shane scalpi and he is very vocal about his opinion of Vance & Hines products. He thinks their 2 into 2 exhaust is junk.
He's probably the owner, his initials work anyways... Everyone has their opinions. I think they are New Yorkers, probably explains the vocality of those opinions. haha
Yeah they are in New York. If you look at Ivan's performance sheets that actually shows the twin slashed exhaust loses only 1.1 horsepower compared to the slip on exhaust. Yet he keeps claiming that you actually lose power on the twin slash exhaust, 1.1hp is nothing, if I actually lost power my Bolt wouldn't be as responsive as it is with the Vance & Hines stuff on it.
You guys are crazy! ha ha. i wish I had snow to drive my YXZ in, I live in AZ.
I wish I had some dunes and desert to drive them in up here! Guess you always want what you can't have haha
Ha Ha. True. I was just at Glamis but broke some suspension parts and burned a clutch up on my new yxz! I posted two videos here, although they aren't that good. I just got my yxz back from the shop this week.
That would be lots of fun too me and i am over 50. That said i could be just as happy tearing it up in a stick shift geo tracker At a fraction of the cost . But thats just me . Enjoy Life with what you got or can afford.
Dude that looks so fun!!!
Looks like a killer time. I love snow drifting!
Just read a Rider magazine article that said the Bolt had about 47 horsepower at the rear wheel on their Dynojet Tuning dyno. Looks like you gained a lot of noise and lost 2 hp. Think I will leave MY new Star Bolt completely stock.
Yep, I would be curious to see a torque curve though. Also would be nice to have a tuner that was capable of getting the bike leaner.
The folks at Rider are more interested in rating bikes on their touring abilities. They don't usually publish print-outs of the horsepower and torque curves. I just bought my Star Bolt after reading their article and I thought it would be a nice motorcycle to ride around on without racing anyone. Just made a mental note of the 47 horsepower figure. I think it sounds just fine through its stock muffler / catalytic converter.
Everyone has their own opinion. I recall seeing an article with horsepower and torque charts comparing it to the harley. I was referring to my data, it would have been nice to have a torque curve, to see if I gained or lost any torque. The equipment at the shop I went to didn't seem all that reliable.
It's Alive!!!
+TheViciousCyclist Ya man!! It's undergoing a major re-working lol
Sir you Drive like a boss, thank you !
+Hamad Yahya You're welcome :)
Thanks! I love it. I think the guy stopped making them because they never really took off, it was called Xander arms at the time. It's a shame, it's a lot sleeker than most all of the other chassis out there.
Where the heck did you buy that stock? looks awesome.
Not really. It starts to jam up once and a while when it gets really dirty. Other than that it runs pretty good.
Does this rifle five you alot of problems?
You might lose a couple peak horsepower, but mine felt stronger through the midrange. How are you measuring your "7 hp" gain?
CCI velocitor !!! Never jam
JESUS!!!!!
lol thanks
You shot everything, lol I'm fucking with ya, nice camo on the gun looks dope
@Derekpa8 Please explain how bullet holes ended up in a single thing I own? Maybe a couple in the wood pile...
I had a good idea today, it's was putting bullet holes in everything I own and shooting my house up like this guy, hope my kids were not in the backyard
I know this is an old comment, but good lord your lying out your ass. HKS doesn't make turbos for one. No 2.8 is going to make that much power without upgraded internals from an S4 or aftermarket rods and pistons. Also, wheels wouldn't make the car produce any more power. And what the hell is a new "drum"?
lol your not the puddle jumping master you gotta go low over the hole if you have the balls hahaha
Shit, what exhaust set up would you suggest I have a stock 2.8 2000 a4?
What exhaust
@Tyler Lussier I'm crushed.
