Nice replies, Montana canvas, was actually looking at your product, but if you can’t answer the consumers questions questions I’m passing
How difficult is it for one person to set up?
That looks like a very good tent
It should be rolled the opposite way so rain does not settle inside
Matzinger!!
should roll your flaps under so not to collect debris & moister
Thanks for the video,
I bought a 9x9 Montana canvas tent in 1998, and it still works fine today after 22+ years, but it's a little small for two guys and gear. I just received my new spike 12x12 with higher 4 foot walls and I couldn't be happier with it. Looking forward to another 20+ years... Thanks for making such a nice product. Worth every penny.
use a bowline instead of a square knot
Good video, I been setting up my wall tent for 30 years now, the only thing I can recommend is to use ratchet straps, easier then knots. And if you use a tarp the extra strap can tie it down.
After seeing such a well-made thorough video it makes me wonder who the clowns are they gave it a thumbs down.
Nobody who actually bought one from Montana canvas I’m sure.
@@Turin-Fett do you think a man could live in this full time for 4-5 years?
@@ericstevens8660 I would water seal the seams on the roof. Mine didn’t leak much, but there were some damp spots on the floor after a couple days of non-stop rain. People live in much worse conditions around the world every day, so I guess it would really depend on your commitment and your ability to fend for yourself. Another way to think about it perhaps, is that Roman legionaries marched across the entire European continent living day to day in canvas tents. I think the tent itself is probably the best quality a wall tent could be. The frame is rigid and the canvas seems heavy and durable. The zippers, tent stakes and guy lines are also heavy duty. The next best thing would probably be a plywood shack or small cabin (which might be something to think about if you really plan on living in it for that long)
@@Turin-Fett well its not like i have $10,000.00 just sitting around...when i do it i will build a porch and 2x4 roof frame with a metal roof for durability.. hell my ancestors roamed this country and they had tipis made of Buffalo hide, and they lived just fine..
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I bought an army-surplus tent-- old but never used-- and I couldn't figure out how these tensioners worked, as they were tied wrong! It was driving me crazy! But your video straightened it out. Thank you!
I own this tent and it's great!!! Spent many nights in the snow in mammoth in it.
Can you guys do a video on the Relite material y’all use
And it’s comparison to canvas fabric, longevity pros and cons and what not , and a puncture tear rip test
Does this tent do well in wind?
