Hello, sir. Interesting po ang SB na yan. Mongo2x po tawag ko diyan base sa mga napanood ko at naka usap ko online. Pero anong class/specie po -- di ko po alam. In hind sight -- mas mainam sana kung nag 'eduction' po kayo. (maraming tutorial neto sa UA-cam) di niyo pa masyadong madisturb ang colony. Kung ako po tatanungin nyo - takes a lot of patience to 'box' an SB. Enthusiast lang po ako for so many years now (> 5 years, I think) last year (December) lang po ako nag effort mag - eduction. 5 locations, as of now I only separated 1 box of eduction (after 4 months) Still not yet as strong as I would like - may possiblity pa po na di mag move forward. Still waiting to let the colony fill up the wooden box (20cm x 20cm x 10cm outside dimension with estimated thickness of 10mm). The other four - one got discontinued because the box location is not ideal -- tinamaan ng direct sunlight the bees stopped going into the box. The rest, the SBs created some kind of 'tunnel' inside the boxes directly to the entrance. Needed to destroy a part of the the tunnel and also add some propolis and a few whole honey pots and pollen pots just to nudge the SBs to make home in the box. Need to wait again for a few months and see what it got me. Bottom line, if possible do 'eduction' method. Safer for the current hive colony but will take more time. Hope this helps. Also I like to repeat, very interested in the kind of SB you got. Maramin din po mongo2x sa amin. Try nyo po to replace or put back the cover -- maybe po there's still another cavity inside that the SBs have taken residence. See if you still get bees getting out of that place then may another chance pa to box the SBs. Cheers.
