Thank you for the very informative lecture. In 2023 APIC text, both crude and case specific mortality rates were expressed as 100,000 poulation.
Great video. Great video.
Week 8, best
nice one
Can you send the link to access the Google drive?
Thank you so much for these videos! I primarily listened to them and passed the exam by studying for only 3 months🎉🥹

I passed my CIC today!!! I took the APIC CIC prep course and watched your videos. Thank you so much for posting them. There was so much content I didn't fully grasp until I watched tour videos, then it clicked. We appreciate you!!!
How can I join for the live sessions..
You need to slow down when you’re reading. I’m listening while I work and I have to constantly rewind and relisten.
HI! What CIC prep exams or guides do you recommend.
I am your newest and biggest fan. What an amazing presentation!
I don’t understand your reasoning on 120 hours spent studying. I have a study guide that lists 61 chapters. And it takes a few hours at least per chapter of studying to be comfortable knowing the material. There’s such a large amount of information to study, its probably closer to 500 hours.
Where can we get access to this study guide? Can I get a copy if I send you my email please?

What is the better certification to become a sterile processor?
I passed my CIC! Thank you Luz for posting study materials! ❤ CIC Epidemiologist was a great and fun study material to add to the other materials. I studied hard for two months. It helps to have variety of study materials to understand concepts. The CIC exam I took had more of critical thinking questions. There were some straight forward questions, mostly critical thinking. Therefore, studying well is important to be able to answer questions presented in different formats. Good luck to those you who will be taking the test in the future!❤
Hi. Can you guide me to other study materials that proved beneficial in your prep or that are a must to pass? Thank you! And a big congratulations on your success!!
@@priyankarana4102 Thank you! The study resources I used are APIC text, CIC study guide 6th edition, Exam Edge, and CDC guideline. I used APIC text and CIC study guide 6th edition the most. Exam edge is optional, but must have CIC study guide 6th edition and APIC text. CDC guidelines can be downloaded from CDC website for free. Have to purchase the other resources. CIC study guide and Exam edge are question-based. I took the practice exams without studying first to see where I am at. Studied and took the practice again. I took the practice exam again for 3rd time one week before my exam. I took notes on the ones I missed and read the concepts well until I got it. On the study day, I ate breakfast and relaxed. There were only few questions I missed on the 3rd practice exam. Management and communication was my weakest. I reviewed my notes on those missed questions and formulas. I went to the exam one hour early. Space was available, so they asked me if I want to start one early. I said yes. I was nervous, but I just prayed to shake of my nervousness and took the test. There were really tricky questions. I read the questions and answers twice on the hard ones. Reading again really helped me to eliminate the two answers that are definitely not the right answer. Make sure you read the questions that says, which you do first, which is the most important, which you will not do, except, and including. Get through the easy ones fast so that you have time to read the hard ones twice. I finished my exam 30 minutes earlier. Good luck to your exam!
@@priyankarana4102 Thank you! I used APIC text, CIC study guide 6th edition, CDC guideline, and Exam Edge. Good luck to your exam!

🎉🎉🎉I passed! Thank you for these videos! I’m am more knowledgeable and feel more competent because of all the information you have posted!
Would you be so kind to let me know where to find Week 26 presentation? It's been an excellent 25 weeks and looking forward to the exam! Thanks

Is there a Part I?

great, thank you so much. Information is really hepful
Is this the 7th edition
you are the best
Not having a print version is absolutely absurd.
How can I join study group?
Great content. I envy whichever facility you work at. Chairs are a foreign concept here it seems, as well as a lot of the other technologies you mentioned. No pressure air in assembly, just the standard fluorescent lights above us (ceiling).
WHERE IS PART I PLEASE ? WHERE CAN I FIND THE HOMEWORK QUESTIONS ?
How can I join your study group?
Can you please let me know how the Odds Ratio was calculated for the Case-control example regarding the S. enteritidis outbreak? Thanks for the awesome study materials!
where can i find practice exams ?
I don’t know if you look at these comments as the videos were from a year ago but I just want you to know I used these videos to supplement my studying and I took the CIC exam today and passed. The videos are excellent and a lot that you covered were on my exam today. Some of the questions were exact questions or variations of the questions that you presented. Thank you! Excellent resource I will be sharing!
@asmaabdelsalam814 0 seconds ago To @rosemarieposka1022 Hello, First, a massive congratulations on taking the CIC exam! I am absolutely thrilled to hear about your success. Your message has made my day! I'm overjoyed to know that the videos were beneficial in supplementing your study efforts and that the content aligned well with the exam. It's fantastic to hear that you plan to share it with others.i am thinking of applying CIC exam this year, i was hesitant to do the exam, but now i am excited to do the exam thank you so much
Thank you for this video. This is so helpful
I want to join your study group
Hey, just a quick note...EXCELLENT study materials.......but your slide Question regarding "Which of the following statements is false regarding influenza viruses" is incorrect. There are 4 types (A, B, C, and D) of FLU viruses and Type B virus can cause large epidemics (but not pandemics). The presentation states that "D. Influenza B strains have not been associated with large epidemics". I think answer choice "C." is incorrect also since FLU viruses are classified according to virus type/place of isolation/strain No./year isolated/virus H/N configuration. Can you please let me know if this question is looking for a "True" answer, which if the case, would be "B. Type A strains have been the predominant cause of worldwide epidemics (pandemics)"....Thanks for providing this series .....I am currently working through your EXCELLENT materials and will hopefully test during late Spring 2024!
Hi! How do i go about joining your group?
I took my CIC yesterday and passed! Your videos have been so helpful in my studying process.
Hi I'm taking the test in 3 weeks. anything you want to share. What other resources di you use? thanks
@@chosicano0521 I watched all of Luz’s videos and read the chapters that she outlined. The CIC study guide was super helpful at narrowing down the areas that I needed to focus on.
Was the exam hard?
How do we enroll in these groups if we are studying for our cic ?
Need notes
Your concept check question at point 47:35 in the video is confusing. the question is asking "cannot" make which kind of error. The correct answer for a Type 1 is you rejected the null hypothesis when it is true and attributing significance when there is none. So the type of error you "cannot" commit is a Type 2, because you committed a Type 1. Am i on the wrong track or am I missing something? The video at the end made things worse - more confused.
I realize this question was stated a long time ago so maybe you've sinced figured it out... but a type 1 error only happens if the null hypothesis is true. Therefore you cannot make a type 1 error if the null hypothesis is false. The null hypothesis is false so you can either correctly reject it or you can commit a type 2 error of thinking it is true.
I AM JUST A STUDENT AND NOT CURRENTLY EMPLOYED OR HAVE WORKED IN A HEALTH CARE SETTING SO AM I ELIGIBLE FOR CIC?
Thank you
Liz you crack me up. Thank you for sharing your expertise in a way that we can relate and remember.
Thank you for breaking it all down it will help me in understanding my studies
Wonderful presentation. Thanks Luz so much for coordinating these session with guest speakers 😊
