A Manger - The Christmas Story | Pastor Daniel Gregory | Momentum Church

A manger is not a suitable place for the son of God to be born into. It was a situation that was less than ideal. Have you ever found yourself believing in the promises of God only to find them arrive in less-than-ideal circumstances? What do you do when your expectation of God's provision doesn't match reality? In this Sermon, Pastor Daniel helps us realize that the manger isn't an accident, t...

Many people struggle to become generous. It's not for lack of wanting to, most people WISH they could be generous. So the issue isn't emotional, the issue comes from our mindset around generosity. In this sermon, Pastor Daniel breaks down the three generosity mindsets and how we can move from one to another to grow in generosity.

In 1 Samuel 8, the children of Israel are living under a theocracy, but they demand that God give them a king like the other nations around them. Thousands of years later, in an election year, God's people are still clamoring for earthly leaders. In this sermon, Pastor Daniel reminds us that there is only one King - King Jesus. #kingjesus #jesusisking #election #2024election

    So basically when someone is on a rough spot. The church tells you to believe in something that isn't real to make you feel better and live well. Makes sense.

    • @mymomentumchurch
      @mymomentumchurch 2 місяці тому

      When someone is in a rough spot we point them to something that can change their lives. It's not about simply "feeling better" it's about becoming something new. There have been plenty of people that have turned to "real" things to get through a rough spot, whether it be substance abuse or what have you, and that often doesn't actually fix the problem, it just numbs the pain. We believe and have experienced the very real effect of an encounter with God that has made the old things new. We would love to tell you more about that experience if you're interested!

    Pastor Daniel, this was such a great message! I believe that set backs are set ups for something good!! I was robbed on August 7 by 2 teenage kids. I kept my faith in God. I prayed for those kids. I asked God to just return my ID to me and let the kids take the cash that was in my purse. I went back to work Friday August 9. I was not afraid. Everyone kept telling me it’s okay to feel., but the entire time, I had all my trust in God. I was not afraid. The word of God calls me an heir to His glory. In Psalm 91 God says that he will rescue me and protect me. Romans 8 All things work together for good to those who love God. On August 10, my prayers were answered. A Good Samaritan found my purse and returned it to me with everything but the cash. Praise God!! The cash I had in my purse was to repair my roof. My co workers got together and presented me with the money that was stolen… doubled the amount. All glory, all honor, and praise to God who is in control.

    I am going through a season which I cannot even label. I don't know what went wrong. I used to pray, I used to read the word and I used to dedicate my life to serving God. I somehow thought this would make God to love me and not leave me. I don't know who my biological father is and this has affected me in so many ways because I cannot even discuss this with my family. My mother found love again and she and my step dad got married and were then blessed with my sibling. So I cannot talk nor ask about who my real father is, my step dad adopted me and my surname was changed (from my biological father's surname to his despite making it known that I do not want to change my surname. I was told to not be selfish and I then changed my surname my step dad's surname for the sake of peace. I don't know myself or where I come from and I think this has affected how I approach life. I am single and don't have kids because how can I give something I don't even know. Maybe people like me are meant to break generational curses by not multiplying and that's why I am where I am today. My mother was adopted too by someone I grew up knowing that he was my grandad only to find out that he was also her step dad. Since I cannot speak for my biological side of the family since I don't know him or them but I'll say that I noticed from a very young age that on my mom's side of the family having children with multiple men/women is something that is very common. I know that I would rather not have a child than to have a child out of wedlock because our story has to somehow change. I don't feel God's presence anymore, it's as if He is far away and has left me but I know that He will never leave nor forsake us but I am struggling so much. More especially with sexual sin, I somehow found myself in a relationship with an unbeliever and I have been trying to break it off but I always find myself there again. Why would God the Father still love me when I am so dirty? I have done nothing but abuse His love and patience with me. I just don't know how my relationship with God will ever be fixed. I am struggling

      Hey man, I was born with an umbilical cord wrapped around my neck not breathing. I should have been dead and the doctors said I would have brain damage and I’m 100% fine. My brother had total kidney failure at 6 months old and my parents were told he wouldn’t make it. He also survived - his doctors called it a miracle. My friend’s wife was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 cancer and given 4 months to live - 30 years ago. Her doctors said they have zero explanation for how. I feel like there are miracles all around us, but I also feel like if you’re not willing to believe in them, there isn’t really any sort of evidence you would believe.

      @@mymomentumchurch I wish that were true but it isn't. I met with Pastor Daniel for almost 2 hours last year at the Sugar Land Starbucks. We discussed these things in depth. Does he warn people that they are enemies of God before they are saved? Does he warn them that they are sinners because they have broken God's law, the 10 commandments, and that the consequences for breaking those laws is hell? Does he tell them that the good news is that God did something wonderful so people do not have to go to hell, that being that Jesus paid the death penalty meant for us so that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life? My concern is that the message Pastor Daniel is preaching is "If your life is tough, if you've had problems and struggles, if your marriage or finances or relationships or your job is not going well then come to Jesus and He can fix it." Can Jesus fix those things? Absolutely!!! But should fixing those temporal struggles/problems be the MOTIVATION for coming to Jesus/receiving Jesus? Absolutely not! The motivation for coming to Jesus, for repenting and putting your trust in Jesus for salvation, should 100% be to escape the wrath of God to come in hell and then the lake of fire. Consider the warning Jesus in Matthew 10:28 where He said "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Jesus said in Matthew 5:29 "If your right eye causes you to [a]sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell." Jesus is warning us of God's wrath to come. Jesus is telling us to repent and believe the gospel (that He died and rose again for the forgiveness of our sins) TO AVOID GOING TO HELL. Jesus spoke very often of hell as seen in those two verses and many others. Remember that 11 of 12 apostles died horrific deaths. They were beheaded, boiled alive, crucified, crucified upside down, speared to death, skinned alive, etc. Read Foxes Book of Martyrs. Those guys didn't follow Jesus and receive Jesus to enhance their lives. They did it because they believed that because of what Jesus did on the cross that they would inherit eternal life in heaven with Jesus for all eternity instead of going to hell for all eternity. When you listen to Pastor Daniel's sermons, ask youself this question "Is he telling me to trust in Jesus so the things in life will get better? Or is he telling me to repent and trust Jesus for salvation so that I do not go to hell when I die?" For a much better explanation of what I'm saying, read the book that you can download for free at www.freewonderfulbook.com

      Hey Lyle, Pastor Daniel preaches out of the bible, not out of some ebook that you really like. It's concerning that you have to point to some book we can download for free when it comes to your theology instead of the bible. That might not be the best hermeneutic.
