In Australia, we have a favourite name for black / dark brown horses or dogs, which is ' Nugget '. It's derived from an old-time brand of black boot polish. Pretty apt for this guy as he also seems to be a real find, as in gold nugget. Loss of a special dog is hard. Have you considered getting an Australian Blue Heeler as a replacement? They' were purpose-built to handle cattle, they are high fidelity dogs with a huge work ethic and are as tough as goats' knees. Really enjoy your content, keep it up!

Shack for the horse. Big, black, athletic, big feet, and very kind to be around. Like Shaquille o Neil of basketball fame. We have a good gray gelding that we had a hard time naming. Ended up with Earl Grey. He is smooth and refreshing. Sorry about your loss, I know exactly how it is to lose a good cow dog and friend.
