I wouldn’t go to Gabriola during shutdown...I hear they don’t take kindly to visitors.

Funny those Nanaimo Bar fillings look white in the Video made in a bakery.. Real Home Made Nanaimo Bars are made with Bird's Custard Powder in the original flavor which is quite yellow. On the Amazing Race show the other night the recipe was also wrong.. They do not have almonds in them nor Vanilla Custard Powder. The recipe I use is likely 40-50 years old as I remember them as a child and I am now in my 60's.
They're actually quite yellow in person! It's surprising what a difference a slight video filter can have, but I assure you there's definitely custard powder in there :).

This is world class artisan baking.
